Hello to everyone! Hope you all had a great and productive Saturday. Mine was really busy. Had to hit the ground running at 6:00 as DD had the ACT test this morning. She thinks she did well but we will see when the results come in. Then I did errands etc. Was a lovely fall day and would have liked to spend the whole day sitting in the sun reading!

Tomorrow evening my son (I have 2 grown ones) and I are going to see Janet Jackson. We have a wonderful new convention center near us and we have been getting some major shows through for awhile. Before this was built we had to drive 2 hours to see anyone of any worth. I plan to be up dancing alot during the concert to burn those calories!

Lisa - thanks for the reminder on the glucose tablets. I thought of that a week or so ago and then promptly forgot it! I will get some and see if that solves the problem. On the transition question - I had not gotten to goal when my husband got sick but I did notice that it took several months of hospital/fast food for the scale to start inching back up on the pounds so we need to all be assured that when we go into the maintenance phase - the pounds will not reappear overnight if we have a slip up - just don't let it snowball as I had to.

Susan - good point on the cholesterol issue! Mine is not high but I fully expect this way of eating to make my numbers even better so that is something else my doctor can be impressed with! I feel assured that your numbers will come down as you continue on your journey.

Missy - my box from Wonder Slim arrived today! It all looks really good and the transition from New Lifestyle to this product will be a no-brainer other than one question! New Lifestyles plan has 5 drinks plus your lean & green. Wonder Slim adds a few items to the daily plan. Do you do the program the way they have it listed? I don't want to mess up my weight results but a couple of little extra items would be nice too.

Dan - how is the job hunting going? I bet with your weight loss you are feeling alot more confident to present yourself as a prospective employee. It has always been my experience that confident self-presentation can make the difference.

Good Morning MFers!

Dan- Thanks for explaining the 4 and 2...

I may try to do that while I am in Las Vegas...Though I have no intention of staying OP on Thanksgiving day! Are you kidding? My MOM will be cooking! I don't know how close you all live to your parents...but I get to eat mom's cooking about once every 3 years. So I am planning a gain that week . I won't let it upset me and I will just deal with it as part of my plan.

Scale is slowing down with the cooler weather. I'm probably spending to much time huddled under a blanket. I am not a cold weather person. My house has only electric heat. For some reason, it doesn't feel as warm as natural gas heat no matter what the thermostat is set on. I have never understood that.

Well stay warm and have a terrific OP day!

Hey everyone! We had a great night last night at my son's school. His school throws a big halloween carnival every year. The kids had a BLAST! It was so nice to see all the moms (and dads), and all the kids in their costumes OMG all the candy! We actually came out with not too much, I steered the kids to the prizes as much as I could.
Ok, I think it was Susan who asked the ? about my quote. (I dont go back that far on this page) The "Its a great big beautiful tomorrow" song is from Carousel of Dreams. The history of the song is that it was basicly written as a sort of theme song for Walt himself. I LOVE Disney. Seriously, if things dont work out, I am going to get as close to Disneyland and the beach as I possibly can. It really is the happiest place on earth! (If anybody knows how to get a job there...)
Jacque, I follow the MF 5&1 on Wonderslim. I do add the bars though, and a couple times a week I eat an apple. I LOVE apples and it has not seemed to make my weight loss not work... the days that I eat an apple I loose like a pound the next day so...
Djay, I'd love to hear how your hair coloring went! I do mine all the time. Have recently moved to jet black. I kinda like it. Over the course of 25 years, my hair has seen EVERY color! Blond, then blue then green then, red then black, then blond then red, then... etc, etc, etc. Heee hee
Well, gotta a birthday party to go to today, and I want to try and spend some time with my boys outside, I bought some tennis rackets at the goodwill, wondering if the boys'd like to try and figure out tennis with me...
have a great sunday all! XOXOXO Missy

Missy,
If the time ever does come that you seriously consider going to California, Disney does have a web site with career opporotunities. I do know they are all union employees. That sure would be a dream job for me

Happy Monday Everyone! (groan)

The hair color turned out better than expected Missy! Have you tried the Faria color that Beyonce advertises? I love it!!!! It is not as dark as I expected. It's just a bit darker than my natural color, but when the light hits it I get a reddish shine. I love it! And that is very unusual for me to love a hair color right away...I ususally take some time to get used to it. So Yea, It's awsome!

Susan-Love the new picture. You are very pretty now that we can see you!

Hey! Welcome back Operator! You don't have to wait for your order to come in...It will be nice to see you back in chat!

Well have a great OP day everyone!

DJ

Unhappy Ugh- What a Monday

So, I got the scale Friday night... (Have not owned one in ?? years.) I waited to weigh myself until this morning. I wasn't clueless as to where I'd be, from going to the doctor off and on this year. But, eeek, stark naked in the morning- a whopping 187. That's the most I've weighed at the doctor's mid-day with clothes on! Thank gosh I got on this now is all I can say. Isn't it weird how after you know "that number", you feel even fatter? I'm disgusted this morning and each piece of clothing feels even tighter to me.

I'll start Nov. 2. Last week and this week, I've been sticking to about 1200-1500 calories with SoyJoys, Healthy Choice soup, Lean Cuisine- to transition over to MF.

Ashley - I know exactly what you mean. Having the number resounding on your brain always makes you feel worse. A weird thing about me is that I still have a mental image of skinny me, so unless I pass a mirror or see a picture, I don't realize how much more weight I have one now. I still think of myself as skinny. It was party that "denial," or whatever we would call it, that kept me lazy at first about losing the weight. If I just went by my self-image, I'd be like "lalalila, who me? fat?" LOL. Also, since I gained most of the weight after two very close pregnancies, I spent over a year telling myself "It's just baby weight" or "post-partum" weight. When my DS turned 2 years old this past march, that excuse flew out the window. It was also a wake up call to see 175 on the scale (my highest weight a few months back) and to start moving up in sizes at the Plus-size store.

Djay, glad the coloring went well. I sooo need to color my hair. The grays are coming on! But I have Lichen PlanoPilaris in my scalp so I'm scared to put any chemicals on there.

Missy - sounds like you have a busy weekend with your boys. How old are they? My kids are 4 and 2.

Now that I know "the number" though, I will not be afraid of the scale. I can see myself getting obsessive about weighing- like so many do! I thought that just because my pants and skirts still fit, that I wasn't gaining but I started figuring out that I was packing on these recent 5-10 lbs in other places. I am so OFF the wine! I had some this weekend, as my last hurrah and I didn't feel as good as I had all week going without. I'm now thinking of it as POISON/toxic , as it is the reason why I'm at where I am now.
