ArtCat, compared to prices in CA, Ann Arbor is actually pretty reasonable. I think they paid $380K for their house which in Southern CA would cost $900 to 1million or maybe more depending on where it is. But, yes, in MI it is an expensive house.

Well, I had a good weekend, but didn't eat too well. I was going to allow myself to move my marker down a pound or two, but this morning it was back up to where the ticker had it. Hopefully it's just the extra salt from the pizza last night.
Guess I thought I could get away with more than I actually could...

Good Morning . . .

Yep . . . that salt gets me every time, too. It will likely be gone again soon.

Yesterday was my birthday, and I only had 1/2 cupcake with a little ice cream. Not too bad, huh? My DH finally understands that I can't have a whole cake around.

thanks Judi!
The salt must be gone now, but I'm only giving myself 1 lb. off. What with Thanksgiving around the corner and my kids coming home, it's always a recipe for disaster!

No . . . we do the Thanksgiving Day stuff in the early part of October . . . it was Monday, October 13 this year. Gives us longer to recover before the next big feasting occasion (Christmas) comes along. Guess our harvests peak earlier up here in the frozen north,

Happy Birthday, a little late, Liz. Hope you had a good one. Congratulations on your restraint with the cup cake!!

We went to DHs son and family for TG. I got really sick with some kind of stomach flu and now I seem to be getting a cold. I would hope I lost a little weight with the flu, but I doubt it because I made up for what I didn't eat then at a later time.

I sure do need to get my motivation back. I just feel kind of depressed and discouraged. I need to weigh myself, but I am afraid!

I made this recipe http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/...ge-and-cabbage

Instead of cabbage, I used lots of brussels sprouts sliced as thinly as possible and separated into shreds. I just barely wilted the shreds. I also made my own sausage. I used a piece of very lean pork sirloin. I chopped it in the food processor and added sausage type seasonings. I wouldn't particularly bother making my own sausage, but I didn't have any and I wanted to try this recipe. I used papardelle for the pasta. Yummy and easy. I make stuff like this in single servings, so I don't have to worry about eating too much. I ended up with a higher proportion of shredded brussels sprouts to other ingredients than Martha's recipe. In our case, this is a "good thing".

Okay . . . it's the beginning of December and Winter is definitely here (for a lot of us anyway) so it seems like a good time for a new thread . . . http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...99#post2475399 . . . see you over there, gang . . .
