Hi! If you like seafood then there are lots of options. I made a stir fry with red peppers, broccoli, soy sauce and shrimp for dinner the other day and it was great. And, I could eat 17 shrimp so felt like a lot! Depends on the size of the shrimp though so be careful. Tilapia is a great fish that is easy, quick to cook and pretty much takes on any flavor profile. We had some last night with dill, tarragon, salt, lemon pepper and lemon juice. The herbs make such a difference. Also, pork loin-"the other white meat" =) It's not chicken right?!
Thank you tuscanygirl! That stir fry sounds great! :-) I'd like to try that. You know, I always wondered about red peppers! On the sheet, it just refers to "bell peppers," so I've just been sticking to green since they don't seem as sweet. Do you find red peppers impedes your weight loss at all? Also, what kind of shrimp did you get? I'm not a huge fan of shrimp without the glorious cocktail sauce lol, but mixed with veggies and soy sauce sounds delightful. Thank you for replying :-)
Any color of peppers are fine. If you want to make an Indonesian style stirfry you can add a bit of Franks Hot Sauce (reg or chili/lime) or Tabasco and a bit of Walden Farms peanut spread with the soy sauce and a squeeze of lime juice. All allowable on P1.
Thank you all for your support and protein suggestions! Yesterday was my best day yet on the diet! I had an omelet with some ham for breakfast, a chicken noodle soup and celery for lunch, oatmeal and cucumbers for dinner and a quest bar for my snack. I enjoyed eating all of them, AND people were eating cake right in front of me and I wasn't even slightly tempted! I guess it just a took 8 days to get everything out of my system :-) I hope I can help you all as much as you helped me :-)

Princess: It's only one week... just keep up with the plan. Don't game it already. Make sure you are taking in ALL your water, salt, supplements & veggies. Lettuce doesn't count. Are you using lots of sugarless gum, water flavourings, or sweetener packets? You may have to look more closely at those extras. Don't forget on any given day we will be up or down depending on time of day, what's left in our colons, TOM, excess sodium the day before, etc.
A little perspective: It's only been one week out of the rest of your life. Do you really want to quit it now and then what? Time to breathe... go for a walk to help get rid of the cortisol you are causing with this stress and realize that you aren't THAT much overweight, so you aren't going to lose tons at a time, but you will get to your goal weight eventually. Nothing is instant, not even the weight you put on .
We are here so you can vent - now you can move on to better thoughts and self talk, ok? (Drill sergeant mode officially off now .)

Thanks, I have my lady time so I am just misrable! I dont do any sweetners, just 3 splenda in my coffee and water all day with cucumber in it. no gum. I just can't figure it out. I weighed myself same time wearing the same thing, i was so made, i ordered nutrisystem online since with people who have Chronic lyme they tend to find it works well. I will prob return it tho. I find IP takes up a lot of my time and I dont have a lot of time to begine with, do you feel you are always planning...and I dont eat red meat so its the same boring meals over and over...
Hey a new month starting here...I am hoping to loose 10-12 pounds again this month...March was my first month and I dropped 15 pounds...I am sure the weight loss will slow down now...does anyone have any idea what the average weight loss is monthly for most....

I'm jealous, want to send me a personal message with everything you do so I can follow it to a T! Congrats
1) Is the required two cups of veggies raw or cooked?
2) Must I eat the snack or will there be adverse repercussions?
3) I am a type 2 diabetic and therefore must eat one carb supplement 3 x per day for two weeks. For those who are diabetic, how did this affect your weight loss?
4) Can a 'snack' ip product be eaten as an 'entree'. For example, could I eat the bbq crisps and two cups of veggies for lunch?'
5) Which of the IP drinks are your favorite? Some of the IP packets were not palatable for me so I thought I'd try some of the drinks such as the vanilla or chocolate. Any other suggestions?
I can answer some of your questions. (1) All veggies should be measured raw. They may have significantly less volume after they are cooked. THe same goes for meat -- it should be weighed before it is cooked.
(2) Yes, you should eat all the food that is in the protocol. Eating too little can slow your weight loss be decreasing your metabolism. This is already a low calorie diet. Your body NEEDS all the food that is prescribed. (4) Yes, a IP snack can be eaten an a IP entree. There is no difference -- they are all interchangable. Just remember nt to eat more than one restricted IP food per day. (5) I like the ready made chocolate and vanilla, but ultimately, I feel more full with one of the packets. Keep experimenting -- you'll find stuff that you will like and your taste will change over time.
My faves were the Peach Mango packet drink, and the Wild Berry yogourt drink. Mainly because they were certified gluten free, and because the things I missed were fruit & dairy products (yogourt & cheese). Those were my breakfasts every day for 3 months except for when it was really cold out I would have the Broccoli Cheddar Soup (also gf).
Susie, are you on the Alternative Diabetic IP plan? 1 fruit, 1 low fat dairy, 1 starch carb per day? I moved from regular P1 to Alternative P1 part way through because my body actually needed a bit more food to lose fat properly. It does work well, it may be a little bit slower than regular P1, but doing what is right for your body is the most important thing.
If you aren't an evening snack person use it at your hungry time (mid-afternoon for me) or break it up into two and have 2 mini snacks during the day/evening.

Shazmatazz, Winewanderer, and Canadjinah, thank you for helping me! Well, I've been measuring my veggies after they've been cooked so that may be why I feel like I'm overdosing on veggies. Also, I know this is a precise diet so I'm trying to understand all the rules.
Canadjinah, yes I'm on the Alternative IP Diet Plan where one dairy, grain, or fruit is consumed at each meal for the first two weeks. My IP Coach didn't elaborate on the affects of the additional food other than to say it would slow down my weight loss. Nor do I know if I'll go into ketosis during this phase.
Last, most newbies state they are hungry initially but I feel so full all the time. I'm never hungry at meal times so eating or finishing my food has been a challenge for me. I didn't even eat all my protein at dinner last night--I just couldn't stomach it. I'll discuss this with my coach but am a bit confused by my reaction and wondered if anyone has suggestions.
