Don't get discouraged! We all lose weight differently- I tend to hover +/- .5 lbs all week, then drop several pounds on Sat or Sun. All the hard work you do during the week DOES add up, just not when you want/expect it to.
If you get discouraged without consistent losses throughout the week, don't weigh yourself daily! Get used to a happy surprise once a week.

Hang in there you can do it! I am avoiding the scale for a few days because I know some days there will be no changes and the boom a drop! I think fat is lighter than muscle and it may be the reason it takes a while to show the drop in the scale. Takes a lot more of fat to actually show a drop.

Its going to be alright, try to get your head occupied.. Play a game, go out of a short walk. Its spring! At least that will help get us out of the house.

Thanks. I think not weighing myself is key. Even though that might be more challenging than the diet itself.

This morning I fell down our basement steps and it looks like I've broken my tailbone. The doctor is getting a second opinion on my radiographs, but he's fairly confident it's fractured.
I'll be going off plan while I heal for the next 6-8 weeks. I w am planning on sticking to a paleo/primal diet to stay in Ketosis and once I'm healed I'll be back!

Good luck to everyone! You've been doing wonderfully and I know you'll be kicking serious butt while I'm gone. See ya'll in May/June!
Sorry to hear that you got hurt, and will not be not be doing IP. I hope you get to feeling better. But I have a question and that is because I will be having surgery on the 6th and I plan on staying on IP. Is there a reason you are not staying with IP. Should I be concerned that the IP plan will not allow me to heal, my downtime is 8-10 weeks (even thought I plan on only taking 3 weeks off from work) and I was hoping that it would be easier to do this plan while I am down so I won't gain any weight.

Congrats Shelly! That is so encouraging on your weight loss in such a short amount of time. I am looking forward to seeing results soon, I have not had my official week 1 weigh in yet, but I feel so much better so I am sure the scale will show that.

Good Job! Stay OP!!

Default Sunday Salad

Hey ladies I want to share with you my phase 1 salad today. I have been watching Chef Verati's video and it inspired my to experiment a bit.

Today I made a delicious salad and it was a huge serving too!

The recipe is:

2 cups of bean sprouts
1 cup of cucumber
1 cup of fresh mushrooms
2 cups of baby spinach
a pinch of sea salt
1 teaspoon of olive oil
black pepper to taste
a teaspoon of soy sauce (no carbs!)
1 package of mushroom soup

So I mixed all the veggies in a big bowl and made the soup with my shake blender. I put the soup in the microwave for 2 minutes as it is instructed for soups but after it was done I dumped it in my salad like a salad dressing. It was a creamy huge salad!

I think if we make our foods more interesting it is easier to keep in the program. At least thats what I keep repeating to myself. As today is Sunday I am having the ip brownie for snack! I love the ip brownie and I am looking forward to it. hhehehe

That's a great question. My reasoning is just that while healing, I don't want to have such a restricted diet. My body doesn't need to be working on healing my coccyx AND trying to lose weight at the same time. I'll just be adding a little more protein and fat to get me through. No donuts and chips, I promise! :-)

I found my 8th day the hardest to, and lost 7 pounds by my 7th day but really nothing the next 3-4 days, so I decided to stay off the scale for a few days.

Unhappy

[QUOTE=simplchaos;5147570]My husband keeps questioning if I know what I'm doing since I'm not using a coach. I think the diet/method being what it is and all the help here makes it kind of hard to mess it up. We can do this!

The old IP was that you can only eat at meal times and no snacking but it sounds like the unlimited raw veggies can be whenever and I feel like its wrong...I also get confused using Nashua Nutrition for the food because it doesnt say what is restricted so I try to remeber what was on the IP like the bars and eggs so I only have them 1 time a week but this says 1 time a day...I dont want to waste my time

There is a chart that shows the guidelines for restricted or not but I'm not sure how to find it and then put it here.
I didn't things eggs were a restriction. Maybe I'm wrong. I know if it's over 8 net carbs it's restricted.

I weigh in tomorrow. I have been on IP for a month and the scale is not moving down very fast. I have not cheated once but I am not in ketosis (pee stick and ketosis symptoms just not there.) How am I going to burn the fat if I don't get into ketosis? I am discouraged. I think that the products are expensive, as well. What is the least expensive way to do this and stay OP?

Hello everyone, I'm new here. Tried this plan a couple of times before and lost weight. Due to my recent separation, I am at an all time high where I just sat around drank wine and ate a lot. Now i'm motivated to look good again. Here are my questions, what are the symptoms of ketosis and what do you do when you hit a plateau. Also, when does the weight slow down? week 2 or 3? How do you manage when you get so sick of the shakes?

let me know,

Veena

and the last question I have is does it work the same the 2nd or 3rd time around? When I did herbal magic, it only works once. The pills were only effective the first time, after that the body recognizes the pills and it doesn't work at all. But the weight falls off on Herbal Magic the first time. you don't even know how you got that slim that fast. Its unbelievable.

Evening all. Hope everyone is having a great day on IP! I had my first weigh in last Friday and was down 2.3 in a little less than a week. Have to admit I was sort of hoping for a little more after hearing so much about 3-5 pounds a week and in the past (on other programs) I usually lose a lot (probably water) the first week. Oh well.

Didn't get discouraged because it's still a loss and every BODY is different. Luckily I haven't found IP to be too, too bad. Don't get me wrong, I still daydream about certain things but then I replace that daydream with the dream of looking good in the clothing of my choice =) Definitely noticed the hunger the first couple of days but seemed to get better by Day 3.

Enjoying figuring out what I like (hello cappuccino drink blended with crushed ice) and dislike (really maple oatmeal? you let me down). Have been experimenting a bit (figured I would focus on routine first then experiment more) and, for me, I've found a lot of the drinks are more palatable when blended with crushed ice (that thick "mango" drink actually becomes almost like a mango smoothie..almost). I love, love my Ninja blender. Was a bit skeptical...would it really be better than a Cuisinart? or Kitchen Aid? but yup, it's awesome! Highly recommend it. Bought it with a coupon at Costco so it wasn't too expensive and comes with two portable, blender containers so you can blend in one container, replace the cover and off you go.

So, looking forward to weigh in #2. Thanks for listening and I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow! If you're struggling, just remind yourself about why you're doing this..and drink some water! =)

Oh, I almost forgot...how do you guys measure the 2 cups of veggies? I've been using a measuring cup but obviously not every vegetable fits in there "smoothly". Do you sort of guesstimate? 'cause I've actually been thinking I might be eating more vegetables than I need to depending on how it's measured. For instance I think 1.5 roasted peppers is a 1 cup..does that fit with what you guys think? And, I'm guessing it's probably okay to split the lunch 2 cups in to 1 cup at breakfast and 1 cup at lunch if that works better for me but figured I would check with the "gurus". I'll ask my coach when I see her too. Thanks!!
