Hi all, you all are doing great, I started IP over a year ago, and lost 60 pounds, have gained 20 back. I am on day 2 of reboot. Cloths were getting to tight and can't get into some I could prior to this. I am not buying new cloths and have plenty of cloths in lower sizes that I can wear when I get there.
You all are inspiring. I have to stay reading the boards and be more active. I feel much better when I am on IP. Hope you all have a great Day!!!!!!!
Hello all!! My name is Shelly, I am on Day 12 of the IP Diet, and I have lost 15lbs so far...I have one beautiful little 7 yr old daughter, Ava, and I am a retired police officer. I gained a 130lbs in one year due to injuries I received in the line of duty, which ultimately forced me into an early retirement after 18 yrs. I am PRAYING that IP will be my miracle to get back to a somewhat "normal" me again, whatever that is supposed to be!!!
Happy Friday everyone!
For those asking about veggies - I find kale chips and rutabaga fries is a great way to get in your extra veggies. I almost over eat on those and need to be careful! Or if you do the chocolate drink, add spinach to it and blend with some ice. It looks kinda gross color-wise but you barely notice the taste. Start with a cup or even 1/2 cup and go from there.
As for exercise, my coach always told me to only do "conversational cardio", so basically as long as you weren't over exerting yourself so much that you couldn't carry on a conversation. When I was most successful I was doing pilates about 5 times a week. It wasn't a super sweaty workout, but I definitely gained muscle and my tummy toned up.
I'm suppose to have my weigh in today, but talked to my coach and am going to switch to Mondays. I find too often after my weigh in on Fridays I end up giving myself a free pass over the weekend thinking I can make up for it before next Friday. Hoping this will help me stay accountable over the weekend!
Hope everyone has a great OP weekend and for those of you experiencing the headaches, here's to hoping they disappear once and for all!
I'm having a little trouble knowing if I'm doing this right. I can't afford to go to a coach. Guess I will know once I get on the scale but I am doing it only at the 1 week mark and at the exact same time wearingt eh exact same clothes lol/ have a great weekend everyone!
I was kind of stressed about today because at only 5 days OP, I was going out all day with the kiddos. I packed my hard boiled eggs and my EAS Shake, and I did really, really well! I was so afraid I'd go off plan, but I stuck with it and I'm on the downhill slope to week2!
I did my measurements today and I'm down a total of 10.25 from January 1st, so that makes me happy. Naturally it's all in my chest.
I'm eager to see what I look like closer to goal now that I've had 2 kids. When I was in HS I did LA Weight Loss, lost 50 pounds and my "B" belly disappeared! I'm interested to see if that changes because of the pregnancies.
No loss with my daily WI, but again, I'm not fussed by it. I just feel better acknowledging that I did it. I haven't even done my affirmation today! I guess I will write it out at bedtime.
I had my first weight today and I lost 4.4 lbs and it was for 6 days. Tomorrow is officially my 7th day. I am happy with the results so far and looking forward to next Friday.
My coach said that if I feel too hungry that I should eat another ip product but try as much as I can not to. I think it's fair. I bought French Vanilla whitener today and will be using it in my coffee.

My husband keeps questioning if I know what I'm doing since I'm not using a coach. I think the diet/method being what it is and all the help here makes it kind of hard to mess it up. We can do this!

On the grocery list!! And weighing in on Monday sounds like an excellent idea for accountability. Good luck.

How do you cut up the rutabaga, attempted once and did not have good luck with cutting into Fries. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I have to work but planned my meals so staying 100% IP.
Have a question. Know should get plenty of sleep but this does not happen with my Jobs, have a regular job and then work second job on weekend, sometimes only 4 hours of sleep a night, attempting to get more. But when tired I over eat . Any ideas on helping not to cheat/over indulge- even if IP food. Need help with this.
Thanks in advance for any ideas. Hope you all have a great weekend, stay IP true.

Rutabagas are tough to cut and peel. I usually microwave mine for 30 seconds to a minute. Then I peel it, then just chop it into three or four pieces just to make them easier to deal with. I bought a very inexpensive mandolin and find that's easier to cut them into "fry" like size. Here's a youtube video though of a lady making them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVl7PVUH5uk (obviously it's not an IP video since she discusses using dips with them, but thought it was easier for you to watch how she cuts them than me try to explain it!)
As for over indulging when you're tired, if you can, once a week wash and chop up and portion out all your veggies. I know I always fail when I get hungry and am too lazy to prepare something healthy, so if it's easy to grab and go, you should have no excuses! From my understanding cucumbers are an unlimited veggie, so that's a perfect one to have ready to go if you get hungry and you've already hit your regular 4 cups of veggies.

I'm a grad student, and definitely find that my biggest struggles to stay on the plan come while I'm awake late at night studying, or the day after when I'm exhausted and dragging. The plan was definitely crafted with 8+ hours of solid sleep in mind!
Hot herbal tea is one of my best friends when it comes to this, because you can have as much as you want and it's not a cheat. I also set arbitrary rules that can be helpful - like, "if I'm really hungry I can have another IP packet, but only if I put the computer away and sit at the table eating it like a meal, not just tearing into it over the kitchen sink or while browsing the internet." Then I find I would rather keep doing what I'm doing. Similarly, I can trick myself by continually moving the goalpost - "I'm hungry now and I can have a packet, but why don't I wait an hour, have some herbal tea and see if I still want it." Even if I do still want it (and frequently I do), often I can talk myself into waiting another hour, and so on until I either go to bed or it is legitimately time for a packet. And even though I know it's a trick, I fall for it because I enjoy the challenge...and I know the packet is there if I really and truly do need it.
A little loss has gotten me under 260! So excited! I'm 9 pounds away from my wedding weight and 24 pounds away from the weight I was when I met DH. :-)
Food is going really well today, EAS strawberry shake for breakfast and I'm cooking radish soup right now for lunch. I find soup to be the easiest way for me to get my veg in for the day. I'll probably still be eating soup in July when it's 90 degrees out!
For the ones that are doing the alternative method, which shake do you use that qualifies as unrestricted? I heard of the Quest powder but it has 22g protein, and we arent supposed to go over 17g per serving... so what do you guys buy?
