HI All! Still hanging out in Florida with my sister and cooking, cooking, and baking for her. I really understand and respect all of you who have spouses and families to cook for while you're on IP. When I'm home I live alone, so I can clear my house of "no-no" foods and stay out of the kitchen. It's harder here, when I need to be sure that my sister gains weight!

Happy day to you all!

Lori, it sounds like you had a great Easter! Thanks for your kind words.

Liana, hang in there! You can do it! Kudus to you for starting this NOW and not waiting until it gets more out of hand. I completely understand your frame of mind (and body!). Just hang in and do the best you can. Summer is a'comin' soon and we know where we want to be!

Starting week 8 of reboot. My weight loss has stalled. Trying to hang in there and not get discouraged.

Hang on, coffeebean! The last 10 is the hardest, lol, and seems to take the longest without any of the feelgood factor of the first 10.
Hugs joysh, you are going through a lot right now, and coping very well, I might add!
My reboot is going well, so far. I've lost 4.5 in 5 days, not too much to go.
MUST... NOT... LOSE... FOCUS...
Keeping the unforgiving jeans (that don't quite do up) on the top of the pile. They are my springy bling jeans with lots of flowers & vines in pastel coloured sequins up the sides of the legs. Bootcut, long enough for a bit of a heel, and faded blue colour. A bit low cut, they DO NOT look good with a muffintop.

I'm a rebooter! Early 2014 I lost 30 lbs on IP but due to money issues had to go off. I only maintained for a couple of months....totally my fault. I went back to all my old ways of eating and drinking wine without exercising. Now I'm back and have finished week 1 and am down 4 lbs. It was a short week because I started on Monday. I am in a way better spot financially this year and want to stick it out till I reach my goal. I'm so glad this thread exists. I'm not going to do anything different this time except for try some new recipes. Wish me luck.

Scales finally moved. Yeah! Went out to eat with friends last night. I hadn't seen them since my reboot. I was kinda disappointed that no one noticed my 18 pound weight loss. Going on a 3 week road trip Wednesday. I think that it is hard to stay motivated stopping at different places wanting to try different cuisine. While part of me would like to phase off the smarter me says your clothes are still a little tight keep trucking along with the reboot. Only 8 pounds to go. I can do this.

So I haven't touched my box of IP products I put away months ago. I guess I just gave up. I packed back on all of my weight and then some, thought buying an elliptical would help (it now stares back at me in my bedroom daily, covered in hangers....), I thought buying a gym membership would help (my 3 yr old daughter refuses to go to their child care and I cannot ever find time away from her to go). The ONLY thing that has worked for me in such a real and measurable capacity in the last year is IP and I intend to get back on it.
No substitutions, alternatives or deviations here. I just need to stick with it and stop making excuses.

Day 53 of reboot staying 100% OP. I think about all the times I tried to reboot and failed. I do not know what clicked this time but I am thankful. I feel so much better eating healthy and I have so much energy. Carbs really bring my energy level down. I hope to continue my energy on my 3 week road trip. I have such a supported husband. He wants to see me succeed. I start thinking of all the foods I can have once my IP journey is done and then have to reel me back in and think maintenance. I did not phase off the last time and this is why I have the weight to lose.

Tomorrow will be my first WI of my reboot. OMG THIS WEEK HAS BEEN SO SLOW. Like snails pace slow. Hopefully things will pick up now that I'm solidly in the P1 groove. Was really active this weekend out in the garden and went hiking yesterday. Got my 10,000 steps in for the first time in a long time. Switched out all of my winter clothes with the few spring/summer clothes I have. Time to go shopping again! Have an old navy coupon that I'm going to use tonight to get some cute dresses.

Tomorrow I'll be going to the Orioles game, we have some great seats! I'll get my hot dog sans bun. And then Wednesday I'm off to Denver for a conference for the rest of the week. Pre-ordering some readymade stuff so I can just grab and go at the conference. Back late Friday night and it's supposed to rain all day Saturday so I'll have a nice day to sit on the couch and let my introvert self recover from all the socializing.

Sounds like everyone is hanging in there ok. The last 10 pounds definitely are hard. I know I'm down 6ish pounds this week but most of that is water. I'm afraid of how slow it will be from here on out.

My clinic actually created a chart where they calculated the glycemic impact of all of the IP foods and ranked them from lowest to highest in green, yellow, red categories. They advise to stick to one red packet (highest impact) and at least one green packet (lowest impact) a day. I know IP isn't a program that shouldn't be "worked," but it was interesting to see all of the unrestricted packets that fell into the red category, like the oatmeals and pancakes, that I was using heavily in my previous reboot attempts and was so hungry, I always fell off the wagon. Now I have my normal red restricted bar but will stick with two greens for the other packets. I can post the chart if people are interested, it might help lose those last few pounds more effectively.

Im starting into week 9 of my re-boot, so far nooooo cheating, not sure where this willpower is coming from but I am seriously kicking some butt with myself, I am a food addict/binge eater who has taken control of my life. I know Im always going to have the tendencies to go back to that over eating behavior but Im determined to learn control, so far this is the best Ive EVER done in my life!!!!!! Feels amazing!

I failed for 2 years straight on IP until now, just figured out what I like to eat and I have stuck with it. Ive ridden out the times of hunger and learned that I truly do control what goes in my mouth.......I honestly thought I was a slave to food all these years.

Would LOVE to see that chart. Thank you, pishposh!

Absolutely! I second that! That is similar to what my coach recently told me as well. I was having chips and oatmeal (both unrestricted but on the higher carb end) each day and she suggested I try having one or the other, not both in one day, and to choose lower carb selections for the other two packets. Having a chart identifying these would be great!

Great, I will post it later this week. Thought I had it in my purse, but must have left it at home.

Had my first official WI since start of the reboot—down 5.6 pounds! Scale even lingered on 173 for a second. TOM started today, so maybe I'll have another woosh next week.

Congrats, pishposh -- wow! Makes that slow week so worth it, doesn't it?! Hope you found some cute stuff at old navy the other day -- that place (with its sales) has saved me over the past month as I needed sizes that I haven't had in my closet since before kids (nearly 20 years).

Hearing the success stories here is so encouraging! I have tried to reboot so many times and failed. I'm hoping this is finally my time, like Alaskan and coffeebean. I wish there was a magic potion that could get your mind right, but there doesn't seem to be. I'll be so motivated and gung-ho one day, and the next day I fall off the deep end.
Hoping that's all behind me and I'm finally on the right track! I know if I could just commit to 6 weeks I could be at or very near my goal! Each weekend I cheat puts me that much closer to summer and further from my goal!
