kdramaloverWould you mind sharing how many weeks you are in to the IP program? I'm so glad you are feeling so good! Wondering if increasing my protein might help me too. I'm not a big meat eater so I'm not sure if I meet my 8 oz/day. Today I had another week of 1.6 lb loss and I'd like to see a better weigh in next week. Tomorrow starts my 9 th week, I've lost 26 lbs with another 14 to go.

My IP food bill is starting to strain my budget!

Last 2 weigh ins have been smaller (although still down so NOT complaining!) but today I finally saw a 4.6 loss!!

Muscle mass has gone down for past 2 weeks. Any suggestions? My coach told me to switch up what I'm doing so we are doing no restricted this week.

Britt. Mine went down last two weeks too. My coach said my body is just adjusting. I don't know, I don't think I can give up my restricted! So did your coach tell you to do 3 unrestricteds?

kdramalover that's great!! 7 weeks-25 lbs!! Keep up the great work- and thanks for the tip about upping the protein if we run in to that situation. Hopefully I won't, but one never knows...

bigdog - -1.6 is GREAT! and you've been losing at a rate of 2.8 #'s per week which imho is very good. One thing I would note is you are only 14 pounds from goal & the closer you are to goal, the slower the losses.

britt - I have to admit, I am a little confused so you lost muscle mass, had a really great weigh in (almost 5#'s!) but your coach wants you to cut out the restricted snack / meal? Doesn't this cut your calories (carbs/fat) even more? Did they tell you to up your protein? Or add an unrestricted 4th packet? I would actually suggest posting to the "Daily Chat" and see what others have to say...the loss of muscle would concern me.

KDL - thanks! Unfortunately the Proti-Thin has soy lichen too so I will probably try the ProtiDiet one. Really glad to hear upping the protein has helped.
I hit a wall this week too (TOM) & was exhausted / had a splitting headache for the last 2 days. I had my water, salt, etc...Then yesterday afternoon I thought I was going to gnaw my arm off if I didn't eat. My body was absolutely telling me something! So I ate extra protein / calories / salt in the form of real food - 12oz protein total as opposed to 8oz, 7oz was lamb, which is higher in fat, & an extra cup of veggies (cinnamon jicama - yum!). I had my snack on the drive home from work. So far, so good this morning & weighed in -0.6 from Thursday!

S/C/G: Reboot with 140 as my goal

I am in week 10 of my reboot and have lost 23.8 lbs of which 3.4 were the initial week loss (probably water weight). Not even to my half way point yet, I still have at least 29 lbs to go!

3bigdogs- I started IP on Feb 11th. Did very well and then lost only 2 lbs total for weeks 6-7. I felt as if I hit a wall both mentally and physically. I've been using both alternatives and IP leftover for week 8 and dropped 7lbs that week. This was also when I added the drink. This week I'm down 3.5 lbs since Monday WI.

Also I have a restricted daily and would be terribly sad without it!! LOL

I hope you don't either but I feel like the drink is a real treat!! My co-workers think I've lost my mind. I'm so happy to have a beverage.

Hysteria- I feel like the proti-thin and proti diet taste really similar. The money I saved on IP I've spend in variety. I now have a month's food supply. Everyday, I eat new things and that seems to help.

kdrama I started the 12th, stats are 190/164/150 so we are leading parallel lives. I just started using some alternatives but also am still seeing a coach and buying 2 boxes/wk from IP.

Just tried the Quest double chocolate chunk today, yum. Gotta have my restricted!

Just something to look at re: muscle mass.
The gadgets that the clinics use to measure body fat % etc. measure lean mass which includes everything that is not fat, NOT JUST muscle mass, but bone, nerves, organs, contents of your colon, etc. Do not let a coach freak you out about this. It is only a temporary blip on your journey.

BTW, you will lose pounds or ounces of muscle as you lose weight anyhow, because your body doesn't need as much to carry you around. It is the percentage of body mass as muscle compared to percentage of fat that counts. As the body fat percentage drops, your lean body percentage will rise even though it may be a smaller amount of pounds than when you started.

Keep on carrying on! You can do this!

Thank you for that! I never looked at it that way. And my coach was not concerned, I just made it more than it should be!

kdramalover I'm in week 8 and it seems as though I've settled in to a pattern of close to 3 one week 1ish the next and it;s been like this since about the 4th week. My weigh in today in 2 hours, I expect to be about a lb loss. I've lost 21.8 so far, with about 60 more to go-(or a size 10ish) depends on how I look and feel. DON'T get discouraged- (I need to take my own advice!!) I have to remind myself about the times that I would diet (most of my life) and would lose 4-5 lbs in a month IF I was lucky- and that was exercising, eating properly, food journaling, -the whole bag of tricks. I didn't regain all of my weight overnight, so I remind myself that it won't come off overnight- though i REALLY REALLY wish I could drop a size finally- to me, that is very discouraging. we CAN do this!!!

I had a revelation last night. I am a food addict. Like other who have other addiction I'm going to have to refrain from triggers. I've been a slave to my weight and yo-yo diets most of my adult life. I have an extremely addictive personality.

This diet has taught me portion control. The difference of hunger verses boredom. How to make healthy choices. True appreciation for vegetables and flavor of foods. I don't know, but something has just finally clicked in my head. I am completely in control of my food not the other way around. Even last week, I was thinking about what foods I was going to eat when I reached my goal. I was constantly thinking about food but it's gone. I can't explain it. I'm embarrassed to admit this but yes, I was looking at pictures of food and yearning for them on google image not to long ago. Some online shop but I was drooling over what foods I was going to eat. I hope this feeling lasts. I hope I'm able to continue feeling like this.

You can do it!! I know it feels discouraging to only lose a pound after being so good all week but look at your progress. Imagine a 21.8 pound turkey. That's huge!! Let's take it day by day. Week by week. We can do it. My husband tells me that "it's progress not perfection." It took time to gain it so it's only naturally it takes time to take it off. Say good-bye to every pound you lose and aim to never see that pound come back on us!! Good luck today!!
