  • Hi Everyone! Such great things to read. Kd great news!! I just threw away a pair of g/p's that are finally too big! lol I hope to someday fit in to all of my pretty matching sets- someday...someday...
I hope that your boy is doing ok. That really bothered me all weekend after I read it. I just can't believe the doctor- sounds like more than a few of us have experienced similar negativity about our size in our youth- seems to have hit a nerve. Sounds like you are on the right track getting a plan in place. Kudos- and tell that pediatrician to go sc&ew themselves!
I've got a long way to go, but glad to be reading about the maintenance and how some of you have prepared yourselves for it. This information is invaluable-thank goodness for the power of the internet.
Hope that everyone had a great Monday and cheers to another week ahead of us! Success to us all!!!!
  • Good Morning Everyone!!
As I read through the threads gathering information, seeing all the successes with phases 1, 2, & 3-, The one thing that scares me is the rebooting. I fear the maintenance phase. ( I know, it's WAY too early for me to be worried about it) For those of you on here that are rebooting - is it because you didn't follow the maintenance to the nth degree, or did it eventually just stop working, or did it get put "on the back shelf"? I want to prepare myself for everything. Again, for the amount I still have to lose, P4 is a long way off- but your insight is invaluable to me-so that's my question of the day. I hope that everyone has a great day!! ☺
  • Morning everyone. I have been enjoying reading all the posts in the last couple of days here! There is so much to figure out, and I feel this eating plan (instead of diet...for you Amanda ) teaches people so much about themselves. I know it's already taught me a lot about myself and how I view food. This is truly a journey, and I'm glad I finally made the move to start it.
  • I am at my "tipping point", halfway between my IP reboot start weight and my goal weight. WI yesterday showed a 2.2lb loss. And the weird thing - a 1/2" loss to my waist measurement. Weird because I usually lose 0" - 1/4" at most of the measurement points, yesterday was 1/4" at all points and 1/2" at my waist!!! Still doesn't get me in skinner jeans though :-)
  • Happy Tuesday everyone!

KDL - how did the talk with your hubby go? Things working out so far? I am glad Amanda jumped in - I completely understood where you were coming from as far as helping DS9 & obviously he can't do IP! Always great advice from her & glad you will continue to be with us.

Destony - hear ya loud & clear on 'reboots' - plugging along right now with a couple months to go (used the Keto calculator that was posted and with the macros I plotted, it had me at goal right before Thanksgiving - great timing eh? ) but always thinking ahead. I've hit goal (not with IP, but other diets) twice and gotten pregnant both time lol - this time, that will not be a problem Phasing off scares me too though

Great Dane - Awesome loss & 50% of the way there! You made me start thinking and with -4.0 more for me, I'll be at 50% too! Amazing!

Legal - hope all is well! Agreed, this is a journey - another step in life & one hopefully taking us all to better, healthier places

So...I think I might be getting sick again. I am hoping against all else it is just the tree pollen (which has EXPLODED in the last 3 days - cars are yellow), but idk - I feel pretty icky again. I am normally not a sickly person...hubby said something too - he knows I am doing IP & it sounds like he looked some stuff up. It didn't sound like 'good' stuff and I told him I'm ok & even if this was / is a side effect of the plan, it's temporary. I refuse to let a stupid cold derail me from my goal...although IF I really am sick, may bump the calories for a couple days, even if weight loss slows / stops for a week.

Still waiting on the HVAC tech to get here too...the A/C system went out sometime Friday while we were at dinner They were suppose to be here between 10 - 2...it's 3:00 & they give an hour's courtesy call - blah I really could've used the day at work, as opposed to working from home...but now maybe DH will be here to deal with whoever comes. It's funny because I am the one who dickers / does my homework with car shopping and making larger home purchases...but when it comes to people doing work in the house (electricians, plumbers, etc...) always feel like I end up getting taken advantage of...because I'm a woman. I've SEEN it - guys here to do repairs and if DH comes home, they are totally different with him than me. Such B-S

Good news - the hundred's digit has remained "1" for 2 days in a row!!! The magnesium *seems* to really be helping now too - knocking on wood, but 2 days in a row! Haven't seen that since I was on the antibiotic

    yayyyyyyyy Beth!!!!!
  • Morning Everyone!! Something a little different for me this morning- actually started yesterday- feeling a bit bloated and crampy-with some spotting (I had spotting for most of the 2 months-turns out was a polyp that was removed 2 weeks ago and was fine--tmi?not sure-but I feel as though we are all in this together so it's like family-anyhow- periods have been pretty irregular as I am in the "in between stage" so I'm used to that- everything else has been normal-no need for extra magnisium, drinking well over the 64 oz of H2O, so not sure if anyone else has experienced anything similar? I figure if it persists into friday morning, I'll call my obgyn. I know that if there are answers outside of a doctor's office, it's likely here with you all ☺
That aside, I hope that everyone has a great day. Started mine with a pancake and 1 T of WF syrup, 2 glasses of water down and some squats and a plank (I do them 30 secs at a time and try to get 3 in a day) though not every day- but I try to do something...How about you all?
  • My weight went up 1.8 pounds and I haven't changed my eating. I had a partial hysterectomy last Sept but felt ovulation pains yesterday. This week I had zero losses at my WI. Maybe it's because I had such a big loss last week. I'm also craving sugar. Korean rice cakes to be precise. I'm hungry more than I have been.

It's been a busy week already. DS and I will be going to the ped's today. I have a couple things I'd like to say to her before looking for a new ped. I scheduled an appt with an allergist for DS. He is booked until May. The physical activity seems to be helping. God bless kids and their fast metabolism.

After going to the doctor for other matters, I was diagnosed with Cush Syndrome yesterday. I didn't even know what that was. I've been feeling confused, headache, and uber irritable lately. I went to get my high blood medicine adjusted. Now, I need to see and endocrinologist and MRI on adrenal glands. I haven't taken any medications such as prednisone to make this occur. Always something.
  • kd That's interesting. Did you lose any inches? I wonder what's going on, especially with the cravings too-
I hope that you get that pediatrician squared away. That was so wrong!
I was recently reading something on Cushing's syndrome and if it's the same thing, stress can cause it because of the high levels of Cortisol that it produces. Hopefully you'll get that squared away quickly.
  • Sadly posting a gain this week (grumble). I have been OP and more active than usual but I think I am PMSing hard. I still haven't had a normal cycle since my loss over a month ago.. I honestly think my hormones are going into overdrive and I'm hoping there will be a BIG WOOSH on the other side of TOM when it finally rolls around!! No thought of cheating though. This is just how I eat now.
  • Lucky - next week should be huge! TOM really messes with my scales

KDL - how did it go with DS9's pediatrician? From what I've read, it appears Cushings is very controllable / curable. Not sure, with IP being a stressor on the body, how your doctor will handle that...best wishes!

Destony - The first 8/9 weeks I had a pretty whacked out uterus - I think I was basically TOM for 4 out of those weeks (mostly spotting). It seems to have settled down - but last months TOM was ugh & awful (I've been spoiled by my Mirena IUD)...gotta love the estrogen release!

Still in the "1"s this morning

Tomorrow is Take Your Child To Work Day and my job does it up pretty cool for the kids (8 - 14). DD10 is excited - & I get to flex my will power muscle at the free continental breakfast
  • So we are all hormonal or having TOM this week. I feel so bloated and hungry. The ped's appt was alright. DS has lost 1.5 pounds from increased activity. The ped agreed about checking him for food allergies also. I should have been the one to take Ds to the doctors instead of having DH doing it. Live and learn.

I came home early from work because I was just exhausted. I ate my strawberry wafer so quickly that I barely even tasted it. My hunger was so intense today that I had a headache. I thought I was over the hunger stage. I'm going to chalk it up to my hormones and drink more water.
  • Beth Thank you - I have laid awake since about 3 this morning obsessing about all the things that could be wrong- you know, the things that we do at that ungodly hour....I will probably call the dr today, but I definitely feel better that someone has experienced something similar. kd that's another thing- hungry like I'm in the first 2 or 3 days of the diet- maybe it all just coincidence and it's TOM for me- again, hard to tell because, well, 51 next month, so I am at that stage of the game-such fun...
KD, so everything is okay with the pedi? That's great news about your son- and in just a week! You're right, to keep that metabolism-whew that would be great!! I remember being able to eat Peggy Lawton chocolate chip cookies and Diet Pepsi- was my staple...
Bethcongrats on still being in "onederland" that's terrific!! Have fun today at work with your children.
Lucky keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!
    Everyone have a great day!!!!

I thought I was over the hunger stage.
    Quote:
hungry like I'm in the first 2 or 3 days of the diet-
TOM definitely ramps up my hunger - but I wonder if we are all kind of hitting a normal IP wall, so-to-speak?
I went through this last week - felt like I was going through the keto-flu again, headaches, foggy, extreme exhaustion, and HUNGRY! I think I mentioned Saturday I really hit-the-wall and ate (IP) until I felt better. I've increased my fats this week through my meat choices - lamb and pork - so not sure what to chalk it up to? Our bodies / minds need fat to function properly so maybe I was keeping it too low?

Still in the "1"s this morning and the scale is moving in the right direction again I have a goal (-40 total) I want to obtain by 5/16 - I don't usually set goals...I just know myself and can get overly frustrated when I don't meet them - but I think this one is do-able

So, I work for a national media outlet and the head meteorologist from one of the TV stations came in this morning to talk to the kids for TYCTWD - pretty cool!
  • Beth- Take your kids to work day I love it!! I work in a dept store with 60 women in cosmetics dept. DS said that he would rather eat out of the cat box than go with me to work. LOL

Yesterday in order to keep hunger at bay I drank over 3 liters of water. The scale is down from 164.3 yesterday to 160.5 today. Water is huge. Is there such a thing as drinking too much water?
