So last night I has water with lemon instead of wine with dinner. It's easier to choose sensibly from the dinner menu so folks don't ask questions. How are you all coping with social situations?
Had my first one last evening. Went to my sister in laws last night for supper and had to explain why I has only chicken and veggies. I mean I am happy with my decision, but feel like I'm under a microscope. Comments like "I wouldn't be able to do that" or "you can't eat fruit?!?!" drives me crazy lol But at least next time there won't be any questions hopefully.

Sounds like you handled your experience great!

steph - glad to hear I'm not alone on that soup, blech!

etherbunny - great job on skipping the wine! I hear ya on the social situations, it can be tough. I have found that I'm not interested in going out right now, it will be too tempting to drink, and I don't want to be in those situations this early on.

itsmytime - OMG, I hate it when people say that 'No fruit?!?!?!', lol! I just always say that it will be introduced later, just to get people off my back.

-----------------

My weigh in was today, second week and I am down 4 pounds this week! That 16 total in my first two weeks. I am pretty pleased about that, I was really hoping for a 5lb loss, but I'll take 4 lbs a week any day!

Not much happening today, going to do leftovers for dinner so nothing exciting. I got a bunch of new product today and picked up the WF Caramel Syrup and the WF Thousand Island dressing, so I will be having the big mac in a bowl this week at some point!

Happy Saturday ladies!

Thanks ladies! I don't feel much different actually, lol!! Just excited to start fitting into my clothes that I did a few years ago. I lost a bunch of weight but it didn't last for long, gained it all back when we moved back to Canada.

It's really nice knowing I have a wardrobe waiting for me to fit into though, hah! Only about 30 lbs to go.

Anyone have any big plans for today?

Going out to dinner third night in a row - ugh! This is going to be one wacky week for me, between all that eating out plus traveling for 3 days (pushing back my WI for 2 days). Must stay strong!

Great job, Teags!

I have craving a burger and fries to whipped up a tomato basil 'bun' and some turnip fries. Was great to not cave in. All ready for the week ahead!

Good way to beat the craving, Katie!

I'm sick sick sick today. Got hit yesterday with a nasty cold, my throat hurts, ear ache and I'm just exhausted. I came in to work but will probably leave around noon as being here is hard for me.

I'm a sick eater too, whenever I get sick I want all sorts of comfort food. Gonna have to stay away from that!

Hey everyone! Today is day 1 for me. I went and picked up my products last Thursday and got weighed and measured up! I've done IP on and off for what seems like ever now, so I'm pretty well prepared. I mentioned last week my coach switched to Pro Energy earlier this year so I am technically doing that, not IP, but they are very similar programs, and since I love the support on this forum I'm hoping I can stick around!
The nice thing about Pro Energy is that they actually encourage you to work out, so I'm off to my class at the gym over the lunch hour. Guessing I'll probably crash after work so figured I should get my workout in while I still have the motivation!
Congrats to all of you on your losses so far! IP is a great program, in some ways more difficult because of how strict it is, but for me it's a lot easier to have strict guidelines than for me to count points or just eat reasonably. I don't have an inbetween stage, I'm either all in or all out.

I had my first WI today and was down 9.2lbs. I am feeling good and bought food that I like for this week. There were some foods in the sample pack that I had to work extremely hard to swallow!

Did you ask your coach if you can have an extra packet while your body is fighting off a viral attack? You may recover quickly if you choose an extra "lighter" option packet, and it should help with the munchies. Bear in mind it should only add 100 calories or so, and probably 4-5ish carbs. Not enough to damage ketosis or slow weight loss too much, but may bump you into feeling a little better.

They have their own food, just like IP food (drinks, bars, soups, chips, etc). You have 3 packets per day, 1 of which can be a restricted, but no more than one restricted per day (same as IP).

As far as the veggies part goes - you aren't as limited as you are on IP, you just have to count your carbs. So today I had 100 g of carrots (as you all know, I'm sure, carrots aren't allowed on IP). You have to weigh your lettuce as well, so lettuce isn't unlimited, although it's so low in carbs you can still have A LOT of lettuce if you want a big salad for lunch or dinner.

Pro Energy has three different options depending on your weight and how much you exercise and how strict you're willing to be. I'm following the strictest of the three options, which is most similar to IP. Pro Energy actually allows you a very small amount of dairy a day (although very limited options) and depending on what option you follow, you're allowed fruit too, but again you just have to make sure it falls into your allowed carb count for the day. (It's surprising how many carbs are in some pieces of fruit)! I'm not planning to add any dairy or fruit into my days, at least not now. I'm wanting to keep exercising (another thing that Pro Energy encourages) so my coach said I may find adding an apple before my workout may be necessary depending on the intensity.

I'm not an expert yet, today is my first day, so don't quote me on any of that, but so far that's what I understand about Pro Energy. They advertise 3-5 lbs loss your first week and 2-4 lbs per week afterwards, I think those are similar numbers to IP too.

My coach said the main reason they switched was because Pro Energy products offer a lot more gluten free and soy free options. Apparently my coach has a lot of clients who had breast cancer and they're encouraged to avoid soy. As well it seems like every other person these days has at the very least an intolerance to gluten, so this gave those clients more options as well.

Anyways, I'm not advocating people switch to Pro Energy, I just like my coach too much to go find a new IP coach so I'm gonna try Pro Energy this time around.
