WI# 8 and another six pounds gone forever. Was really strict this week except for some bacon, whoops! I love IP and the way I have been feeling...so much energy! I swear sometimes I ate crap just to calm myself down the skinnier I get and the no carbs/no swollen achy join the more energy I have to live life. Thanks for being here and being on this weight loss journey with me! Have a great IP DAY! Just noticed I am half way to my goal! Funny I have to look at my ticker to figure this out! I love the ticker.

Reason: Had more to say
Hey all. Been struggling lately. With the holidays and al the excitement Imbeen indulging in stuff I really shouldn't. Haven't gained Nything but for sure showered down the losses. Gotta really focus on getting back to 100% I'm so close to goal and know I can be there by the end of the spring challenge! Just gotta focus!

Focus and stay in touch with us. Sending hugs and willpower dust.
Like some others here I had my challenges overt he holidays.. but now its back to basics friends lets all get back on track and start posting our losses
Company leaves tomorrow and I can focus on the plan again. I weigh in today and am not looking forward to it...hopefully I made good substitutions over the past week.
It just occurred to me I should be posting in this thread since I can't seem to stop cheating I had to dig to find it.
I'm losing but had drinks the 1st 2 weeks and then this past Friday had a glass of wine. I've been craving dairy so I added some plain yogurt to my oatmeal and had some unsweetened almond milk on another day. Had to get that off my chest!
I'm resurrecting this thread as I have a question for the 90%ers.
I've been on IP with alternatives for five weeks now and have been very good about staying on plan. There has been an occasional extra cup of tea with milk or bite of one of the kids' strawberries. But I'd say more like 99% OP. Losses have slowed a bit, but as of today, I'm down 12.6 pounds in the five weeks.
Anyhow, Friday is not only Valentine's Day but also my birthday. DH is making an IP-compliant meal of good steaks with salad and roast brussels sprouts (my fave) for dinner. Good. But after we put the kids to bed I'd love to have a couple of drinks with DH. Before IP we'd do that most weekends since we don't usually get a babysitter, so sitting chatting with a couple of drinks is our version of a date.
So to my question. Should I still drink my third packet that day? I could have a RTD with higher protein (23g) with lunch, then forego the evening snack. It would save me 100 calories that I could apply to my drink. (BTW, I'll be having vodka with diet tonic, so no carbs but about 100 calories per drink - and I'll likely have two).
I'm a drinker have been the whole program. Clear rum and sprite zero. I usually get all of my packets in and have one drink. Sometimes if I have two I'll forgo the restricted
Bless you, nolasmurf! Thanks for the response - now I'll actually be able to enjoy my drinks on Friday, especially seeing how successful you've been on the plan.

I'm just curious, do you have a drink every day or every week?
Just on the weekend. Usually Friday nights after work.
Don't get me wrong it's probably slowed my losses down. But I've also allowed my self cheese and the occasional cheat meal. It's how I've kept myself sane during the process.
I mean absolutely no disrespect to NolaSmurf who has had great success on this program and has been a great contributor to this board, but I do want to give a different perspective on drinking while on IP.
When I started IP I made a commitment to stay 100% - I decided if I was going to spend this much money (and it does strain our family budget) and effort I wasn’t going to spend one minute longer or one cent more on P1 than absolutely necessary. That meant asking my husband to give up some of our routines – Friday nights were always my 2 martini and teriyaki night. My husband (who is the chef in our house) had to learn IP to cook for me and incorporate my meals into his plans.
He did it without complaining and is very proud of me. But knowing how hard he is trying to help me has been a huge motivation for me to stay 100%. Would 1 martini a week have slowed me down? Probably, but I haven’t been willing to test it – as much as we’ve changed things in our household to accommodate my diet I feel I have a responsibility to do my part and stay on plan. I don’t think it would be fair to ask my household to continue to change things to help me if I’m not going to stay committed.
Do I miss my two martinis a week? Yep, I sure do. But I have had great success getting healthy – I’m down 102 pounds in just over 9 months, I am no longer pre-diabetic, my blood pressure is in the normal range and all my other blood work is so perfect it’s boring.
Everyone makes choices while on IP and I respect whatever choices those are. Giving up some things I enjoy for now so that I can be healthy for the remainder of my life seems like a pretty fair exchange to me.
