One of the more challenging days today. We got out the door to run a errand that should have taken an hour, and got home four hours later. I didn't even have breakfast or supplements before we headed out- just a cup of coffee. I got a grilled chicken salad, and I had a WF dressing with me before we came home. I guess I'll go make a Syntrax Nextar protein drink so I'm more settled. Odd how some days I feel solid as a rock on program and other days are so much more challengig. I know I'll be okay - it's just not smooth sailing like I like to have. Nobody said it would be easy.

Sure sounds like a challenging beginning, Halfagain! But great job of keeping it all in perspective! Congrats!

Thanks! I made it through and feel good today. Funny how just having the bad case of temptations I felt fat and unsuccessful. I think it's a mental thing the little voice in my head uses to help sway temptation. My daily WI today says I'm down almost 3 lbs this week - we'll see how the Tuesday WI measures up for the weekly recording.

We are supposed to get up to 90 degrees today, which for Seattle area is very hot. We are headed to a farmer's market next to a tail network. Taking the dog (and hopefully remembering my fitbit) and the extra water. Hubby and I will check out the market and the trail - these will be new places for all of us.

Great survival tools, Halfagain! You sound committed & determined - and I admire your honesty about the tough days.
Have you checked out The Beck Diet book? That might help you deal with that not-so-helpful small voice.
Enjoy your day - sounds like a great one, frankly
I work later, so I am getting some house & garden chores done before I go.
Hot here, on Vancouver Island too!! Some days I appreciate working in A/C

Look at you, in the home stretch, way to go! I so agree with you on the in control feeling. It is great.

I am 80% sure I'll be flying again in October. I really want to leave the extended seat belt at home (yep we bought one from ebay years ago, and it's nice when you need it to not have to ask for one). It will be even nicer not to NEED one

Hello gals... my monthly weigh & measure meeting & chat with coach is this morning! Rockin' this - still at 132 - exactly my goal. Will check in with you all later as I have a massive work load this week... 2 people leaving for police school & travelling, and a new contract to staff - meaning I get more work!

Default Good news re: Swollen ankles

I have to say that after 4.5 weeks on IP, my typically softball sized ankles that have developed in my recent years of many extra pounds are way down. I still have the largest ankle and wrist bone structure for a woman my height, but it feels and looks so much better to be rid of the excess fluid that has been flowing to my ankles and staying there.

I might even get into some shoes that I love but have not been able to wear in recent years!!!

Well, after weigh in & measure - I am actually down a couple of inches mainly between thigh & waist (waist is now 24.5 - my smallest ever!! and thigh is 16.5 at fingertip - one inch smaller from May 12 last measure.) Since my weight is still the same - I am tightening up and firming muscle... Yaaaay!!

Halfagain, YesmyQueen, and Oneuh2... good going you guys!! Here's to chucking the seat belt extender, hitting maintenance soon, and fitting back into favorite fancy shoes.

Ugh. Another unexpected and unwanted TOM. But I guess on the bright side, this means hormones are getting released which means fat is going away. Trying to find the bright side.

Hello fabfif gals. I had wi#4 and was up 1 lb. I also had a dr. visit. My blood pressure has been running higher than normal and I had a one hour spell of heart palpitations on Friday. My doctor has been on IP herself and doesn't believe the diet contributed to the palpitations. She doubled my blood pressure med which I had already been doing and added a water pill. Im back to work on Friday and my weigh ins will now be moved to evenings. I'm hoping that this new water pill will help the numbers down.

Good luck to all of you on WIs!

I always say, Kelly, if you state your age as older, people tend to think "Wow, you look amazing," . My DH is fond of saying lately that he's pushing 60... I'm like WHAT!? you are only 56, puhleeeeze. He does look amazing for pushing 60, though, hahaha!

That is funny! I went to a new doctor's office the other day and they had changed my birth year to 1952 instead of 1962. When I pointed out that they'd made me 10 years older the receptionist said "I was just thinking you look really good for 62!"
