Smile Repeat IP-er and struggling

Hi...I am looking for any encouragement or advice. I did Ideal Protein a year ago and lost 40 pounds. I was the skinniest I have ever been in my life at 127 lbs. But I couldn't maintain it. I ate everything in sight since I had been denied so much. I gained 30lbs back. Then I had heart surgery at age 40. I want to lose this weight but I have been on IP now for a week and a half and everything is gagging me but the shakes and BBQ chips. I can't find veggies that are appealing. I am scared that I will lose the weight and then gain it back again. Is there anyone who has yo-yoed this way or has suggestions for staying on, when everything tastes gross. Thanks! I appreciate it!

Hi Corkyb: Welcome Back!! Join us on the Daily Chat so you can get your head around the diet this time - lots of support and great advice there, you could also read through and post on this thread: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/idea...-all-back.html
These gals are working hard on their re-boot... Sorry, but you will have to train yourself to like veggies other than carrots, peas and corn since you will be eating them for the rest of your life if you want to stay slim... There are lots of great recipes and packet hacks linked in the first post of the Daily Chat, take a look, you might find some yummy ideas you'd like to try. It's not just about losing the weight - any diet will do that - but it's about learning better food habits for permanent healthy maintenance. Some of the gals are reading and doing the exercises from the Beck Diet Solution book and finding it extremely helpful in gaining control over their food habits.
Here's a link to 440+ reviews and a bit about the book & author:

Hi Corkyb13. I am in the same boat as you. I had lost almost 45 lbs my first time on IP, it was a great success! Unfortunately, after 4 short years the weight has caught up with me again. I am on day 4 of my reboot and am having trouble as well. I remember the first time this diet was easy (maybe because I was younger and had less responsibilities?). But I find now I am struggling on day 4 to stay motivated with my crazy busy life. I know once I make it through the first week I can have a sigh of relief and keep pushing forward. Good-luck to you, you are not alone in your reboot.
