I'd like my husband to give IP a try (maybe even with alternatives if he wants). But, he is in police work and has to 'feel' good on the job. What would he/should he do to start so he doesn't feel awful until ketosis kicks in? I'm thinking he'd need at least 4 packets (unrestricted) and maybe extra protein (10-12 instead of 8) split throughout the day. I'll obviously ask my coach but thought it would be good to hear from some of the guys who've made this part of their lives to learn of their thoughts.

My DH did not need to lose weight but it appeared to me he was eating too many (good) carbs and not enough protein. Husband's glucose was always at the high ..very high end of normal range. In November he decided to give my way of eating a try..started taking EAS ready to drink or the small cans of tuna along with less fruit for lunch. He feels SOO much better..he was amazed. He also makes a point of eating a small portion protein at breakfast now and not just fruit and cereal or toast.
He is a "lifesaver" blood donor and the last 2 months when they called him the screening showed his hemoglobin went UP (it was at the low end for a male prior) and his glucose has now dropped from 115-117 to mid 90s! ...oh and he lost 6 lbs.
Point: Give him small individual profile packs or cans of tuna, HB eggs and RTD EAS shakes to go.....that may start the process! Most men get enough carbs!!!
