Idea for turkey day. I love turkey sandwiches but obviously there won't be any bread. I make tortillas out of the IP pancake mix. Make the pancakes like your normally would. Then put some olive oil on both sides of the pancake and bake it at 350 for 10-12 min, flipping halfway through. Comes out like a tortilla. Going to have turkey wraps. Good luck all

Tortillas in the Pacific NW???...damn....well, anyway, good luck to you and the rest of us on T-Day....I'm going to try to stick to a few ounces of white meat, and skip the stuffing/deserts/wine/ales...and on...and on...I guess nothing tastes as good as thin looks
I'm predicting a much needed Cowboys 31-17 win as well....
I only had one cheat...a slice of apple pie late T-Day...overall, my family and I had a great day...limited myself to some white meat, brussels sprout, broccoli, and salad...how about the rest of you guys???
I actually did fine on turkey day. It was the following weekend of football where I slipped up and had some whiskey and pizza. Life goes on though and I'm back on track. Fortunately I didn't gain any weight back, just stopped the losses for a day or two.
Not gonna lie to you boys I'm having a tougher time this time around! Seems I had a lot more desire last time. I know that organization is the key for me so I just have to get serious about getting stuff ready ahead of time. It is just too easy to eat sh***y stuff! I'm really trying to lock in now, though. I'd like to drop at least 5lbs by Monday. At least I didn't have to fight through Thanksgiving! We celebrate it in October in Canada!!

I am with you in thoughts. I wish you the best. I am just trying to maintain until New Years, (not gain any more back)
Just a little about me I'm a 47 yo from Vermont and this is my second time doing the program. Lost 65# the last time and was doing well then on cheat lead to another and before I knew it I was back close to my original weight. Feeling crappy all the time, guilty after eating more than I should. Well starting tomorrow I am getting right back on the horse and this time I'm going to keep it off, not just for me but for my family to show them they can have a dad who can keep up with them. Wish me luck guys as you know we all can use it.

If anything is like last year, there was a lot of between Jan-March. 20 more days.
been on IP since 11/4 and have dropped about 28 lbs. not sure if that is too little or what? certainly wouldnt mind quicker weight loss but i think my diet habits arent always as strict as they should be...
started at 297, at 269 now and would love to get to 225 by the end of july. think thats feasible? if i take a few days off for a road trip here or there will i completely torpedo my chances?

I wouldn't get too caught up in the numbers. Just keep going in the right direction. 28lbs is nothing to scoff at. Congrats on that.

One thing to remember about "cheating" or taking a few days off is that you need to add several days to however long you cheat. If you eat enough bad food to kick your body out of ketosis, it can take several days for your body to return to ketosis. For example, if you take a 3 day trip and don't stick the program, you will essentially have lost anywhere from 4-7 days of ketosis and you may even gain weight that week. Last week I had a company Christmas party where I had a couple drinks and a slice of cake. My weight loss for last week was significantly lower than average just because of that one meal. Not trying to preach but just something to keep in mind.

is that one meal enough to take you out of ketosis?
basically, i might be off diet fri-sun and then again the next sat-tues. is it worth being on the diet during the week in between?

Fat loss is not a function of ketosis. Ketosis merely offers some people the benefit or increased energy and reduced appetite.
Fat loss is always a function of calories. IP provides some horrific "education" in this regard.
As to your original question, if you follow the program you'll be in the 220 range before July, potentially much sooner. The key is following the program.

so, the key is the reduced calories on the diet rather than the lack of carbs?
if i follow the program most of the time but am off the program other times, does it seriously derail me or just offer hurdles?
im planning a wedding so would really like to be at target weight by wedding time but the wedding planning also leads to some times when its tough to be strict to the diet!
