Hope everyone had a great Mothers Day. Mine was good except for the dinner that I'd been looking forward to for weeks.
((rant starting))
So we go to a Mongolian Grill, the same exact one as last year's Mothers Day. I pick this because I can control every single bit of what is going to be cooked up and put on my plate... or so I thought. I have a bowl for myself and a bowl for my youngest child who loves noodles. I have hers piled high with noodles, add oyster sauce and the chef sauce (both have sugar so I don't use them in my bowl) and I throw on some pineapple which obvs won't be in my bowl either. And I didn't have the bowls right next to each other, I placed hers like a good foot or so away from mine to show that they are for two different plates. So what happens? The cook grabs hers, pours it on the grill, grabs mine, pours it right over hers and stirs it all TOGETHER! I was just stunned and making frowny faces at my husband on the other side of the grilling pit. Not to mention I'd put jalapenos in mine and a little chili oil and neither of my little girls can really handle foods with heat. ARGH!
Needless to say, I did not leave a tip for the cook which I pretty much always do at those places. AND the guy looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for a second plate and indicated the small child that had been standing faithfully at my side the whole time.
I didn't make a fuss, insist on a do over, anything like that. I think the bar was just too tall for him to see the child next to me. But I'm still seething about this because I had to spend the entire meal tediously picking noodles and pineapple chunks out so I could eat the stuff I'd designed into my own meal.
((rant over))
Thanks for humoring me if you got through that. It just put a black cloud on a day I'd been looking forward to for weeks.
