Thanks for the link countrychic. I will go and check it out. I cant eat spicy food as it causes severe reactions in my body... so I am a little limited with seasonings. I will admit I actually ventured out into cauliflower. The cauliflower fried rice is great... but eating it everyday is too much soy sauce for me :) that being said i was pretty proud of eating a whole head worth of cauliflower for the frist time in my 35 years :)

Ive talked to my hubby and he is going to start too.. so maybe he will be able to create some amazing dishes that are op and edible for me.

If you're having trouble with veggies please try roasting them. It completely changes the flavor and they are SO good.

Anything works (cauliflower, asparagus, okra, zucchini, cabbage, turnips, rutabaga, kale, etc)

Cover a cookie sheet with foil, mist with olive oil, sprinkle with whatever spices you enjoy (I use sea salt, black pepper, galic powder and cayenne pepper) and roast at 350* for 20 minutes.

I have to stop myself from eating more than the 4 cups allowed!

Hello fellow Canucks!!!. I'm from Sudbury, Ontario.
Really enjoying this thread. What a great idea to have a canadian thread. In reading this thread I have noticed all the WF products available at such a lower price than what I am paying at the Martin Clinic. For ex: WF salad dressing or Barbecue sauce it's retailing for 7.95 instead of 4.50 $..wow.

Miracle Noodles...has anybody ever tried these?

He girlfriends, Rachel 3 and Newday,

go to Paris Natural foods for most of the WF products they are around 4$ a bottle. They just don't have the jam or marshmellow products. What Paris foods doesn't have, go to Simply the Best slimming on Westmount avenue.

This is where I get my extra stuff, everything is cheaper. packs are 5 bucks cheaper, vitamins and WF products that I cannot get at Paris.

Also at Paris, they have 2 alternative products that I really like New Mills low carb pancakes and blueberry muffins. The protein in a little low so I add them with a little extra protein powder thanks to Evepet and her website. I must admit though the muffins give me heartburn as do any other alternative I've tried. The only time I don't have heartburn is when I only use IP products, so I guess I have to stick to the expensive stuff.

The pancakes are my Sunday morning treat. Been researching alot, so when you get your private messages, we can talk more specifics for our area.

Good luck girls. We got this and we'll be bragging soon enough

Going to the Low Carb grocery store on Easter weekend while in Hamilton. I'll let you know after

anyway... thanks for your responses everyone..

One of my favorite things to do to add flavor to meat (groung chicken is a favorite) is to use some of the WF dressing as marinades. Don't judge them by their flavor straight out of the bottle mixing them with the meat makes them much more palatable. A favorite is to gently melt some of the WF "marmalade" or Apricot, add some WF Sesame Ginger and cook the meat in this "sauce"; nice oriental flavor. Add some bean sprouts and you've got your veggies! Super-easy and fast!

Hang in there and don't be afraid to experiment, this forum is full of great ideas if you visit the recipe threads.

Danna. I haven't looked through all the posts, so I don't know whether this was mentioned... but try cooking your meats with Mrs. Dash seasonings. I love the garlic and original flavors. I've always been a huge Montreal Chicken Spice girl (which is def not allowed) but the Mrs. Dashs add pretty good flavouring, with the sea salt.

Also someone else posted about the WF dressings as marinates - it really has been a life saver for me. One of my favorites is the Italian Sundried Tomato dressing and I use it to cook my meats or for stir frys. Even drizzle on your veggies and throw them in the oven. Delish!

Good luck girl - hang in there!!!!!!!

I just got back from grocery shopping at my local "Your Independent Grocer" and discovered that we now have 4 additional flavors of MIOin Canada; Berry Burst, Artic Grape, Lemonade and Cherry Blackberry. That makes 8 to choose from now! As well they had $1 off coupons the MIO or Crystal Light which now also makes little bottles of liquid drink mix to add to water! The Crystal Light flavors were Mango-Passion Fruit, Strawberry-Lemonade, "Iced tease me" and Blueberry-rasberry.

If this has already been covered somewhere else, I apologize, but it was great news to me!

Great! Some interesting new flavors to try. :) BTW, my apologies (re my comment in the new thread you started about the Quest bars and lowcarbcanada).... I see now that you were aware of the 'Canada Thread' and had posted here before. Since you'd started a new thread about that, I just assumed you didn't know about this thread.

No problem at all, I know you were just being helpful. I actually debated posting here vs. starting a new thread. Thanks evepet!:D

Yes. I use them occasionally. I like them, but not everyone does. I don't really cook them, I just put them in fine mesh strainer and run hot water over them for a couple minutes.

The water that they come in can be a little, um, smelly. I know people who just couldn't get past it. A thorough rinsing gets rid of all that though.

You're paying for convenience. I place online orders, but then I'm paying shipping and having to buy $100 worth of stuff at a time -- maybe that I don't like the taste of. Until you know, try out a few at your expensive price to save buying it later. If you know you like something, you won't mind ordering 6 bottles of it for a cheaper online price, or to get up to the amt needed for free shipping.

I second the above. HOWEVER now that there is IP rotini, I'd eat the rotini over a miracle noodle for taste, texture, fillingness etc. The miracle noodles however, are "free" I believe, and take on whatever sauce flavour you're cooking with. They're worth trying if you like stir fry and are missing noodles. I just have the thin ones (angel hair). Not sure about the thicker ones. They might be too slimy for me.

Somehow I didn't take to Miracle Noodles, but I did get a few packets of Miracle 'Rice' which I liked better. I used them with a vanilla pudding packet to make a 'pretend' rice pudding.

Miracle rice?? Where do you buy that?

Back on the IP wagon! :carrot:
