Did you do a lot of researching of products before switching or find that anyone had posted enough information and tips for ordering alternatives through this forum? I'm thinking about going alternative, mainly because of the price but am overwhelmed by the selection at Nashua's website and don't want to stray far from IP recommendations. Suggestions?
I checked quite a few products for poster phenomenon who had selected several alternate options and wanted some feedback. It's just a couple of pages back on this thread. You should find that post helpful.
I just recieved my order from Nashua, they are so good and it is here in 2 days. I ordered some different things this time, so I will report on them as I try them.
Thanks for the suggestions. I wish there was an IP product to alternative match listed somewhere. I'm so afraid of going off IP to alternative but the price difference is crazy.

If you go to the first post of the daily thread each day there is information on many things.
Click where it says info for Newbies. On there is the nutritional info on all the IP products.
Then go to whichever site you are ordering alternative products from. They give all the nutrional facts of each products. Compare this info with a similiar IP product and you can select alterative products with very similiar numbers.

I'm on vacation and it's going to be hard to stay strong! I'm down to 175..and I'm cheating today. But once i get to my shakes I'm hoping things will go back to normal for me in the food department. I don't want to stress about food on vacation. I want to enjoy myself. But I'm sooooo scared of gaining weight. Please help! Someone talk me down from the ledge!

Please, please, please don't do it. What is that tiny moment of cheating worth? You've done so great so far. Just say, I'm better than cheating, I'm worth much, much more. We all love you and are all here for you. We want to see you come through the program and reach your goal with no wavering.

I was just noticing earlier today that one of the posters here posted about how her clinic Dr really stressed that we have a much greater likelihood of maintaining successfully if we don't cheat during Phase 1. I've copied the post from LSJ100 where she refers to this:
"When I went to my introductory IP meeting the doctor emphasized at least 10 times that this diet will work for you and you will be able to successfully maintain your weight AS LONG AS YOU DON'T CHEAT ON PHASE I. Scared the crap out of me! He said 70% of dieters maintain after two years, and every one in the 30% that didn't cheated during phase 1."
I hadn't seen this before and it's definitely given me renewed motivation to not cheat for the rest of the time on on the program. I haven't eaten anything 'off program' but I've permitted myself an extra IP-alternative packet on occasion. Knowing what LSJ100 had pointed out is giving me an even stronger resolve to stay 100%. I want every advantage when I hit my goal weight of being able to maintain!!

I've been eating the Healthsmart cookies as they have 10 less carbs and no sugar alcohols. They are okay for every so often. Can't compare to a "real" cookie. They are sort of dense and fiber tasting. They are close to the IP cookies in taste and texture though I only had one or two of them before I wasn't going to a clinic anymore.
I just couldn't bring myself to spending all those carbs. I would be interested to hear if anyone has.
