Hello everyone! I started IP on Saturday (10-01-11). I'm 39 years old. I am a former Weight Watchers lifetime member. After I met my lifetime goal, we decided to have another baby. I gained close to 60 pounds with that pregnancy and was never really able to get back on track with weight watchers and lose the weight. My "baby" is now 5 years old and I'm at my heaviest I've ever been other than while pregnant. I am soooo miserable and frustrated and I knew I needed to do something different. After seeing the success of so many friends and aquaintences here in town who've done IP, I decided it was worth a shot! I am a carbaholic for sure. I now realize that is exactly why I am where I am so I'm hoping this will cure me of that and teach me how to eat carbs the right way. My hubby and I have been married for 13 years. We have 3 boys-19, 12, and 5. I have asked him to take me on a romantic trip for my 40th birthday in June and I plan to be back in my bikini for that trip!

So far this board has been so helpful! I've learned so many things here. Many thanks for that! :)

Hi-Hope it is o.k. if I just jump in. I have been reading this forum all week and have been inspired, found new recipes, and gained a lot of new ideas.

I am a 44 year old wife and mother. My husband and I have been married 20 years and have 2 sons, ages 17 and 14.

I had my original weigh-in at the IP clinic on Thursday-Sept 22nd and began the program last Monday, Sept. 26th. This afternoon will be my first official weigh-in (1 week +1 day) and then each Tuesday following. I am excited to see my results. I have had a great week of NO cheats! This is huge for me as usually I would at least have a bite, taste or nibble of things when dieting in the past-especially at social events and cooking/baking for my family.

I am lucky to know several people including a few very close friends who have successful done IP and provide daily personal support to me.

My phase I (90%) is to lose 27 pounds. My set goal at this time (I really won't know until I get there or close to it) is 30 pounds. Here's hoping for a good weigh-in.

Hello - Newbie here!

Hi all! My name is a Lisa and I'm 32 and started IP on 9/30/11. My fiance' and I are both doing the program as we are getting married on 12/31/11. We both gained about 25-30 pounds when we started dating and we weren't small people to begin with! I ordered a size down in my wedding dress from the size I tried on and it didn't fit when it came in. We didn't realize this dress maker has a change of 3 inches per size which is a lot. Thank goodness I found Ideal Protein. We both needed something to really jump start a healthier life and a program we could actually see fast results on. Within 3 days, we've both already lost 6-7 pounds. I'm anxious for my first weigh in on Thursday and look forward to the support, tips and ideas from these posts! Good luck everyone and keep up the dedication!

I just finished week 1 on IP and lost 7lbs and am super excited about that. I love being able to check in here for answers to my questions that the girls in the office can't seem to answer. They told me I can only have a restricted item at breakfast or lunch. Is this true? And they say I have to have my snack after dinner, but most days I think it would help me to have it between lunch and dinner. Thoughts? Thanks!!

Hello and welcome, Yes it is best if you have your restricted for breakfast or lunch. It is recommended that you eat your snack before bed so that you have something in your stomach so that your body doesn't go into starvation mode. BUT we get hungry between lunch and dinner you can have to then sometimes. Try having a pickle or cucumber in between instead of a packet.

newbie from Tn

Hello,
I have been lurking here some and decided to introduce myself. My name is Rita, from Tennessee, 56yrs old, married, 3 grown children, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandson.
I will be starting IP this afternoon, since I work 3rd shift, and I am looking forward to meeting others on this journey. I have lost 70lbs:carrot: on another plan, but decided this plan might better fit my schedule and I have been told the food is better so we shall see.I have a way to go since I started out at 379lbs, but I feel like...no...I KNOW...I am gonna succeed!!
I have started this plan at 316lbs, which is about 5lbs higher than my scale, and my first WI will be on the 18th. My goal was originally 155 lbs, but I really just want to be healthy.
Cya soon,
Rita

WELCOME! 70 pounds is tremendous. Still, I think you'll find this plan pretty easy to follow (and get results). And I agree, the food is better. Not only does it taste and dissolve better but it is generally more-nutrient rich, including essential amino acids. But make sure you take the supplements, too. Bon Voyage. It's exciting to watch someone start, especially when they're excited, too.

Welcome to the both of you! this is a great plan. Rita I started off heavier than you and I have loss 87lbs in 24weeks.....it just melts off, follow the program and it works DON'T CHEAT! that is the BEST advice I can give. I have had NOTHING off of program that is allowed since April 27th!! I still have 56lbs left to reach my first goal of 250 once I reach that I may decide to go to 200 just depends on how I am feeling. Good Luck to the both of you and any questions don't hesitate to ask, ONE of us will help ya out !
