So I posted this on another thread and am looking for some answers from ladies out there. I did great on my WI this week. Down another 3.4, was thrilled and excited to change my avatar to reflect 10lbs..whoo-hoo.

So I have stayed OP, not cheated AT ALL. I am an every day weigher... have been since the beginning and sometimes will see that fluctuation between 1-2 lbs based on my water intake I am guessing, but I only change my weight here to show my TRUE WI at the office.

TOM is near and today I weighed myself and it was up almost 4 lbs..... is that even possible???? I couldn't believe what the scale was showing... I don't feel any different. Didn't eat any different... so what gives... is a 4 lb change even possible at TOM???

Hubby said don't sweat it and weigh yourself tomorrow... so I will but, I want others input about this.

Was really looking forward to WI this week thinking I would hit the 140s and be closer to my goal, after today, I am seriously questioning that one.....

Thumbs up Day 6 on IP

Well...I survived 6 whole days so far on IP. I may have ate later than I wanted but by golly I did not cheat. I actually thrive on repetition so I look forward to when I can pick up my new order of food for week 2 on Tuesday. I can tell you that I hated the puddings (ugggggggh) but I got a fantastic suggestion from here to make them into a cake/muffin and it actualy was better to have something more solid to eat AND I LIKED IT!!!!!

The only time I get hungry is if I get too busy and I wind up eating later. I'm determined not to cheat. Things that were under my nose this week that I wanted but did not cheat:
Pizza~fresh baked sugar cookies~icecream~balsamic vinegar~
I'm going ot keep posting and keep looking to this great forum. Thank Goodness for 3FC!!!

colieb: Thanks for the feedback. So far, not having the salads has definitely helped. Sounds like you did run the gamut of possibilities;-) As long as the scale keeps going down, I can live with it.

Default Day 1 tomorrow

I have 3 young kids and am used to tasting (or finishing) their food. I found myself licking my fingers out of habit today several times. Not sure how much that will mess me up. THough I am trying to catch myself, clearly I have done it A LOT over time so it might take a while.

I also blew my first day without intending to! I didn't have lettuce (oops) but was so hungry that I added a few extra cups of vegetables thinking it couldn't harm me. But, then I kept reading about how too many can through you out of ketosis. Not that I am in it yet, but I certainly want to reach that proclaimed "happy" state sooner rather than later to ensure I stick with it. Then, to top it off I somehow managed to forget I got an evening snack (really? me, forget?) and therefore also missed the supplements.

So, sum total day 1 = more error than success. Woke up starving, not surprisingly!

Today, so far I think I am ok minus a few finger licks not caught. I don't know if any of you have this problem, but my intro packets were preselected so I feel like I have 95% desserty foods (shakes, puddings, drinks) and only a couple more substantive type foods. I am a little put off as I fear the sweet things just make me crave more sweet things. Anybody have a similar experience?

Anyway, I am on this to lose 20 pounds and pray that I find the strength and dedication to stick with it to achieve the result. Need this baby weight ALL gone!
I agree, the baby weight needs to be gone! I'm starting Ideal Protein tomorrow and I'm in it to loose 30 pounds. I'm going to keep telling myself I can do it!!!!!

Hi coliep,
I'm experimenting with IP this weekend and going full tilt on Monday. I did eat my veggies tonight and the romaine really helped this morning. I guess I'm easing into IP and I feel like I'm going in the right direction. Lots of herbal tea for me too!

Hi Everyone,

I'm starting Ideal Protein tomorrow and the goal is to loose 30 pounds. I'm a 39 yr old mom of three (17,4,1). I did great after I had my second baby. By the time she was one I was wearing a size smaller than before my pregnancy. Over the next three years I put on some weight and needed to loose about 10-15 pounds. Than I found out I was pregnant with my third. My baby turned one last week and I still have the weight I needed to loose two years ago plus new baby fat. I've always told myself I didn't need to diet that eating healhy and excersise is all I needed. I can't seem to find the time for excersise anymore so the pounds aren't dropping. I heard about IP and after reading some of the threads on this site I'm excited to start and lose the weight.
My biggest concern right now is that we're in the middle of summer and knowing I can't have a refreshing cold beer on a hot day .
I'm looking forward to all your support and I know I can do it.

Welcome 30toloose...

I'm also one who loves a cool beer at the end of a hot day... but this weight loss is worth so much more and remember its not forever, its to help you get where you really want to be.

I thought I would miss wine but the weight loss is way more worth it than drinking it. I have been buying different types of tea. Maybe replace the beer with iced tea with lime or lemon wedges. I drink my in a wine glass with crushed ice. a new routine/habit

My first weight in is tomorrow. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I always have tons of questions for the coach that come up during the week.

Is anyone having dreams where they eat something forbidden? I wake up with anxiety thinking I "cheated" so funny! I am so relieved when I wake up!

Make sure to stay OP. Vegetables, salads. You can do this. You don't have a lot to lose. The prize is in sight...go for it!!!
Thanks Watkat, like others I am trying to focus on small goals and I think this may be working. I went to work yesterday and I could swear my work slacks didnt fit as snug as they have been fitting.
I also was able to stay away from our weekly Dairy Queen Ice cream run It was tough but I remembered what I was doing and my ultimate goal. I did notice I wasnt in the best of moods yesterday, kinda irritated.
So today is Day 5 OP havent been to the bathroom yet......any one else have that issue just starting out? sorry to ask such a personal question

ExPiglet - Yep, similar issue here. I have gone from one extreme to the ohter and back. My coach suggested Milk of Magnesia, which I will take (again) tonight but I am going to ask for Novilax on Thursday because I am tired of the extreme fluctuations. The lack of fiber is completely shocking my body :/

I went a little off protocol yesterday but feel pretty proud of myself no less. All week I have restricred the pizzas, ice pops, etc. Yesterday, at a pool party I resisted the fruit salad, potato salad, strawberry shortcake, alcohol etc. What I DID have was 2 pieces of pepperoni and 1/2 a barbecue chicken breast -- I tried to eat the meat from the middle and not the BBQ coated parts (yep, it looked quite off but I was with a group who knows what I am doing!). Hopefully neither of those things did much to derail my progress. All that said, though, the scale has been up 2 pounds for the last 2 days I really hope to see a substantial drop to take me back where I was plus show additional loss over the last 3 days!

I got my WF chocolate syrup. now that I have it, not sure what to do wtih it lol! I added it to coffee but it didn't really do much for me. No point in adding to a vanilla pudding or shake (otherwise it'll just be chocolate) and so I am hoping the PB comes soon adn together those with the vanilla or choc might make something yummy?!

I really want to be done with Phase I in 2 weeks, but its highly unlikely I am going to lose 10 more pounds in that time I think. Trying to decide if I am going to extend my Phase I until I reach the goal I set, or start Phase II and start "weaning" off the diet regardless since I had a time frame and financial commitment in mind . . . choices choices.

Thanks for all the encouragement on resisting beer and wine. I'll definitly have to remind myself the results will be worth way more than a beer. After all, I managed to stay away from it last summer when pregnant and nursing so this should be a piece of cake lol.
I'm on day 1. Chocolate drink for breakfast wasn't bad. Lunch I had the mushroom soup wich was a little hard to eat. I dumped my veggies in the soup to help me through it and it worked.
