I went to my first weigh in today and I'm down 7.5lbs and 11.5 inches!! All is well....except that when I told my coach that on the 3 days I work, I have to switch around my meals (meaning I eat my snack earlier and have dinner before bed) she said she didn't think that I should do that.
Here is what I do:
5am: wake up
6-7: drive to work while drinking my coffee mixed with the choc. drink
11-12ish I eat lunch
4ish I have my snack
8:30 I eat my dinner, then 9:30ish it's time for bed
She said because the dinner with meat is harder to digest than the packets, it's not the best thing to have before bed. The thing is, I work 12 hour shifts as a RN on a crazy busy floor, and 5-7:30pm is way too busy for me to stop and have dinner while I'm at work. But it's pretty easy to mix up one of the packets and have my snack before the busy time sets in. I didn't really think it was a big deal as long as I'm getting in what I need. I leave the house at 6am and don't get home until 8:30 on the days I work, so I'm just trying to find a way to make the diet work on those days.
Do any of you have to swap your meals like this and has it affected your weight loss?

This is what my suggestion would be... Have your meat protein at lunch on the days when you work and do your packet & veggies when you get home from work in the evenings. She's right, it is harder for your body to break down the meat and use it when you're doing it right before you go to bed. Running around for 12 hrs, you could probably benefit from having some real protein & calories midway through your day! There's no harm in moving your "real meal" around and then you're still just doing a packet before bed. What do you think?
have another quick question . I had 4 oz of chicken for lunch with 2 cups veggies and salad. I haveve my main meal earlier. I want to test something for my last packet. Can i have 3-4 oz of lean burger using the pancakes I make from the crispy cereal and try to make a sandwich using lettuce WF ketchup pickles. Is this ok for protocol because I'm bootcamping this week and don't want to mess up. Usually I only do maybe 5 or 6 is of meat.

Thanks so much
Well, the new protocol IS allowing high amounts of meat, so if you are going to do it, I would try to stick more to the 3 oz. than the 4 oz. There is no official protocol for IP Bootcamp because it's not an official IP practice. It is okay to split your proteins between 2 meals, but if you normally only eat 5-6 oz, having more may affect your loss. However, like I said, the new protocol is allowing more. So, you're probably fine.
Be careful with corned beef, it is very high in fat (25 g, 5 0z). It may be okay occasionally, but most dinner proteins should be lean. It is also higher in calories (350 per 5 oz) than a leaner meat, such as chicken breast.
Hmmm the corned beef is made was 110 calories per 4oz and I cut the fat off! Dec not lean enough to have all the time but sooooo yummy and filling
Just experimenting tonight!! I'll keep it to 3 oz. I just want to see if the pancake would make a good sandwich bread. I have mixed thoughts. We shall see. if i thought about it earlier I would have had a burger for lunch.
Hello all! I am brand spanking new to the site.... I am on day 7 of Ideal protein for the first time. So far I have been pretty good! day 4 and 5 were my worst for temtation, so I broke down and weighed myself at home just to see if my "eating foil" was actually doing anything...eureka! it had! As of today I am down 7.2 pounds by the morning of day 7. First official weigh in tomorrow. Seeing that it really was a change on the scale truly kept me focused. I have not cheated except for a 1/2 cup of sugar free jello on day 5 at night. and I have only dont the 4 meals a day total, not adding the optional extra packet.
Well, hello to you all, and I hope this might help some other "starving" newbie out there

! Sounds like you're off to a good start. Where in MT are you located?
OK..so I thought it was good but anything I eat IP taste (different) to my family. Nut I made a sandwich. They just looked at it and walked away. But I enjoyed it
Hi, this is my first post . Today I went to a meeting with the clinic to get my assessment and my food. Luckily, the IP in my area is distributed by a licensed Naturopathic Doctor who is very knowledgeable about the body. He performed a body analysis that measures body fat, lean muscle, metabolic rate, etc. We also spent about 90 minutes talking about my health concerns and I was weighed and measured. They asked if I would come back on Sunday for a "newcomer meeting" at their clinic and the doctor gave me his email in case I had any questions or concerns.
The only other "organized" diet I have been on is WW points and since they allowed as many carbs as you could eat - I ate 'em all. Aside from the weight loss, I realize that I am a sugar and carb addict. Once I start - I find it very difficult to stop. I chose IP because I knew that I have to overcome my addiction to carbohydrates. Unfortunately, I hate vegetables and I consider chocolate one of the essential food groups. I'm feeling hopeful/afraid because I resent not being able to eat what I want but am impressed by the posts I have read from people here. I have 27 pounds to lose. It may not sound like much but I've been trying to get rid of it for 10 years! I write this as I eat my final milk chocolate/caramel bar and I'm contemplating why I'm even eating it since I'm not even hungry. Anxiety eating? I think so! Wish me luck and I will post more.
Just so you are aware you may get sick on day 1 2 or 3! No one told me this at my clinic and I gorged myself on all my favorite carbs and sugars the week before I started IP! I was VIOLENTLY and painfully sick half way through the first day. This does not always happen, but it happened to me!
Well hello everyone, hope everyone had a good op day. I just tried the turnip chips the ones everyone are talking about and they are great. Tastes almost as good as my pan fried parsnips ( which I cannot have anymore ). I will definetly make them again.
I just got back from WI#4 down 2lbs 1"....which I must say I am dissapointed about I was really hoping for more and thought I did loose more. I am going to bootcamp it this week and see how that goes I figure I can bootcamp it every second week and survive! I want to be at the -20lbs mark next week come on body!
