Question: what's your take on corned beef and cabbage? Corned beef is not listed on the food list but it is pretty low in calorie and has no sugar or carbs. has anyone tried this meal?
Hello IP friends...Back from WI#7 and down another 4lbs and 1 inch each from my problem muffin top and waist areas...YIPPIE!!!! My ticker says 161.4 that's my coachs scale when I weigh in the morning at home I'm 158.5 so yea to that to I know I'm in the 150's.
I haven't read all posts but so many victories out there congrats to you all!!!! Don't you just love this diet
Good morning IP troopers! Here is to another wonderful day. Thank you to all who commented on my progress pics, thank you so much. I have worked hard to get where I am in a short time and love it.
Congratulations to all who have had great successes and losses. To those who may be struggling, know that this program works, there are so many examples here and around us of this program working. WE CAN DO IT!
Yesterday I had a shop employee ask me,
Him: "Can I ask you a personal question?"
Me: "Sure, what's up?"
Him: "Are you ok, are you losing weight on purpose or are you sick?"
Me: CHUCKLE!
Me: "I am losing weight to better my health, I was approaching 300#'s and realized I needed to do something."
Him: "Well good for you, it is really showing and a bunch of us were worried that you were sick. Glad you are not!"
Me: "Thank you!"
Made my day.
Keep up the great work! Stay strong and follow your goals. We are doing this for ourselves and our families, but most of all we are doing this for OURSELVES!
I love this...I also had a customer put his hand on my shoulder and ask if I was ill..when I said no..I'm doing this to myself..he laughed and said wowo you look great...
Hi, this is my first post . Today I went to a meeting with the clinic to get my assessment and my food. Luckily, the IP in my area is distributed by a licensed Naturopathic Doctor who is very knowledgeable about the body. He performed a body analysis that measures body fat, lean muscle, metabolic rate, etc. We also spent about 90 minutes talking about my health concerns and I was weighed and measured. They asked if I would come back on Sunday for a "newcomer meeting" at their clinic and the doctor gave me his email in case I had any questions or concerns.
The only other "organized" diet I have been on is WW points and since they allowed as many carbs as you could eat - I ate 'em all. Aside from the weight loss, I realize that I am a sugar and carb addict. Once I start - I find it very difficult to stop. I chose IP because I knew that I have to overcome my addiction to carbohydrates. Unfortunately, I hate vegetables and I consider chocolate one of the essential food groups. I'm feeling hopeful/afraid because I resent not being able to eat what I want but am impressed by the posts I have read from people here. I have 27 pounds to lose. It may not sound like much but I've been trying to get rid of it for 10 years! I write this as I eat my final milk chocolate/caramel bar and I'm contemplating why I'm even eating it since I'm not even hungry. Anxiety eating? I think so! Wish me luck and I will post more.
My weigh in was moved from today to Thursday. But NSV I bought a shirt in an XL. Wow!! I have been shopping in hefty isle for so long I didn't realize anything else was there. I bought a purple top because going through my closet everything is black. We will see if anyone notices. Congrats to all who lost weight or just stayed on plan today. Always know I am cheering you on!!!!
I definately had darker clothes and black in almost everything...my clothes now have color and some fun things...like a pair of basket ball shorts..I got them at a sports store..size medium..and it made me soooo happy...I never owned a pair ..I'm so thrilled thrilled...
Today I had my 2nd weigh in and I have been on IP 15 days. I have lost 14 lbs and 8.5 inches!!! So it is a good day for me!!!! Thanks for everybody's support and help.
I try not to concentrate on how much IP cost to lose weight, because I sure didnt counts how much in poutine, or pizza, or lil candies I ate lol.. I figure its going to balance out somewhere. When our pants dont fit we have to go to walmart in the plus sizes for drag looking clothes, but we dont think twice. We should be celebrating on the roof top when we can buy something sexi, and smaller!
I agree and the way I feel now...its amazing...just marvelous...

Welcome! I haven't been doing this too long (WI #3 tomorrow), but can tell you if you stick to the plan you will be successful. Review the recipe logs to get some creative veggie ideas. You might be surprised at what you find you like!
I went to my first weigh in today and I'm down 7.5lbs and 11.5 inches!! All is well....except that when I told my coach that on the 3 days I work, I have to switch around my meals (meaning I eat my snack earlier and have dinner before bed) she said she didn't think that I should do that.
Here is what I do:
5am: wake up
6-7: drive to work while drinking my coffee mixed with the choc. drink
11-12ish I eat lunch
4ish I have my snack
8:30 I eat my dinner, then 9:30ish it's time for bed
She said because the dinner with meat is harder to digest than the packets, it's not the best thing to have before bed. The thing is, I work 12 hour shifts as a RN on a crazy busy floor, and 5-7:30pm is way too busy for me to stop and have dinner while I'm at work. But it's pretty easy to mix up one of the packets and have my snack before the busy time sets in. I didn't really think it was a big deal as long as I'm getting in what I need. I leave the house at 6am and don't get home until 8:30 on the days I work, so I'm just trying to find a way to make the diet work on those days.
Do any of you have to swap your meals like this and has it affected your weight loss?

It seems to be working just fine for you! Congrats on your loss. I personally wouldn't worry about it unless your loss stops.

Lots of us have switched meals around to accomodate our schedules. Looks like you did great in your first week and I think from your post this is not an every day habbit so you should be fine. I was told it did not matter what time to eat as long as you got it all in. Although I did hear that having a packet or (IP) before bed is ideal since it is protein your body will use to help burn fat. Good luck

Thanks for the responses. Glad to hear from others that is sounds fine. I think my coach is just a stickler for doing the program EXACTLY how it is written.

I have ended up switching my meals around esspecially on weekends becuase I go out and such. Doesn't seem to make a difference in weight loss you just need to get the food in ya! I have even started eating my "meat" meal at lunch as I was finding I couldn't make it to the end of the day without knawing my arm off and so far I have been a much happier camper! Just do what you need to do!

Be careful with corned beef, it is very high in fat (25 g, 5 0z). It may be okay occasionally, but most dinner proteins should be lean. It is also higher in calories (350 per 5 oz) than a leaner meat, such as chicken breast.
