  • Good morning everyone. Today was my week 5 weigh in. I am happy to announce that after 3 weeks of loosing one pound per week I had a GREAT loss of 3lbs this week. Whoo Hoo!!! I am pretty excited. Hope everyone has a great day.
  • Quote: What a great way to start my morning, reading all your inspiring success stories...well right after all my farm chores of course but before I head off to work!
Yesterday we moved into our new school. Of course, we had one very, very cold day to do this but the move went very smoothly. Now for the unpacking, where do I put things, and why can't I find the one box of stuff I needed to use right away begins. What a relief to get all that over with tho!
As the principal of the school, I am the go to girl for just about every question asked! My head is still spinning a bit !! There is lots more to do but my NSV is that no weight gain on Phase IV! To me this is major, stress sometimes has a tendancy to pack on the lbs but not this time. I even treated my staff to pizza yesterday and wasn't tempted to even have a bite! You can all do this...hope you all have a terrific IP kinda day.
I know you are glad that move is behind you and your staff. It's great to be able to look at food, think about food and say yes if we need to or say no if we need to. Sometimes I almost get a little sad when I think about how many months it took me to get to my goal, how much it cost, but then maybe that time better prepared me for the future. I feel like I have a firm foundation to build on, time will tell. I need to spend some time on the Life after phase 1 thread. There are at least 6 of us who went on phase 4 in Feb. Have a great day! Judy

Hi. Did you read the article that went with the statement about too much water? I think it might give you another perspective to consider. Regardless, the standard rule is drink 1/2 ounce per body weight, minimum. At your present weight that's 100 ounces. To double that makes the possibility of flushing nutrients, minerals, and essential amino acids out of your system a major consideration.

Have you mentioned this to your coach? He/she knows your situation better than we do so you may be OK. Still, I think I'd mention it. Cheers.
  • I try not to concentrate on how much IP cost to lose weight, because I sure didnt counts how much in poutine, or pizza, or lil candies I ate lol.. I figure its going to balance out somewhere. When our pants dont fit we have to go to walmart in the plus sizes for drag looking clothes, but we dont think twice. We should be celebrating on the roof top when we can buy something sexi, and smaller!
  • Good Moring Iper'S. Hope everyone has a super great day!! I left WI last 4.2 pounds lighter and finally lost 1 inch of my fat $$$!!! I was sooo happy!!!! I am 1/4 of the way to my goal!!! I just have to thank you all for the support you all give!! It is truely what keeps me motivated!!
  • good afternoon all. not a good weigh in this week. i now know i can not excersice and be safe. i wasn't really exersiing but i was playing with my new wii so i guess that could be considered that. anyway lost only 1lb. but it is still a loss so yeah. and i lost 3 inches so my inches went down. but all in all it was an okay week. i now know not to use my wii but maby 1 day a week for now. thanks so much everyone and have a wonderful rest of your day.
  • Wow! So many success stories already this morning, great thing to wake up to My day is just getting started since I slept in so I need to get at getting everything in today...just had my cereal and almost done my first bottle of water.

Someone mentioned cost of this program and I couldn't agree more when they said they try not to worry about the cost because between the takeout and high cost of plus size clothing, I too agree that it will all work out somewhere. Doesn't mean that everyone can continue to afford it, I get that, but for me, the cost of this program is little in comparison to what I was spending before on junk and just the benefits health wise make me not really flinch at the cost.

I'm still pretty sad that I didn't realize that parsnips were on the NO list until last night after I'd had 2 cups total this week. I REALLY hope I didn't screw anything up. It's no wonder they were so damn good! Gonna make them for the family here and there though so I guess that's a plus.
Hope everyone has a great IP day!
  • Quote: Hey all! Just popped in to update my ticker....haven't been on much in the last 2 weeks....life gets in the way...still slowly losing....I've joined that slow losers club, but I figure a slow loss is better than no loss!

    Happy IP day!
Believe me, even slow works. Just keep at it, you will get there.
Quote: Well, after a tough couple of weeks with travel, sickness (for everybody in the house, and ME), and meals i had zero control over... I've still lost 2 pounds. I know it's not much for 2 whole weeks, but I'm happy anyway. It's steps in the right direction! I haven't been here in a while, and I'm so happy to see the pounds dropping off everybody! It's so inspiring what everyone is doing! I hope everyone has a great day!
Glad you are hanging in there even in the rough days. There are better days ahead.
Quote: Good morning IP family, I had told myself that once I lost 25 pounds I would announce it on my FB page, (I did that last week) and got so many wonderful comments. Yesterday I posted an updated picture on there and everyone said I looked like I did 15 years ago. Such a great feeling! I love being able to take photos without having to worry about how fat I look. I have so many pictures with my husband and the kids togheter but none of me, I can't wait to be in them again.
Great feeling!!! I am happy for you.

I have considered the cost, but then I have looked at the other side of the coin.

The uplifting posts keep me going and let me know there are people out there changing their lives, when I see so many people ruining theirs. Some examples are: some of my family, women I see in Walmart who are very over weight, the decisions people make in restaurants. I still have more to learn about food and what my needs.
  • Good Morning! Last night was very difficult at a work dinner, and I was pretty down about it. But I stuck to plan and when I woke up today I felt GREAT about that.

Thanks to everyone out there for the posts and the progress photos - they mean more than you know! It really helps to see your success. Have a great day!

Have you tried the turnip fries or chips? I didn't make them till sometime in Jan., don't know why I waited so long. I dearly LOVE them. I had never eaten a turnip in my life( I turned 66 on Jan. 2, 2011). The smell of turnips cooking at someone else's house really turned me off, so I never tasted a cooked turnip. Well, let me tell you turnip fries or chips do not have an odor and are sweet tasting. The constrast between the sweetness and the sea salt is great. I was on phase 2 when I began to fix them, so I was limited to 2 cups at a meal. I told my husband that when I got on phase 4, I wanted to eat all the turnip chips I wanted at a meal. I usually fix 3 turnips at a meal, going to have them for lunch today. We are meeting 3 family members for dinner in a restaurant today. They know I have lost weight, but have not seen me, they live in TN. Should be very interesting!

The way you feel after resisting temptation the day before is the most amazing and triumphant feeling, isn't it? Way to go Marcus!!!!

Let us know how the meeting with the 3 family members goes, would love to hear it!
