also: do you have an IP sheet for phase one for vegetarians? I'd love to see it if you do--I am so tired of meat and fish for dinner every night and I'd love to make some other recipes (tofu or cheese) but have no idea what the equivalents might be. Maybe something with lowfat cottage cheese? or if I can make and eggplant parmigana with low fat parmesan and non-fat ricotta?

There is no cheese on the sheet at all, it is still a no-no. There are about 10 products on it, not very much. It also doesn't have quantities. It has "egg" "tofu", and some brand name products like Quorn naked cutlets. There is a thread here about vegetarian protein sources but I can't seem to find it now. My coach wanted me to try more since she thought I wasn't getting enough protein with say, 1 cutlet but I gained when I added more.

Xanthia- Sorry to hear your weigh in didn't go very well. I can understand your disappointment. It's frustrating to do everything you're supposed to and not see results. Not to mention it doesn't sound like you're getting the support from your coach that you deserve. I hope this next week goes better and you see some results for your effort. Hang in there!

Kelsey- I wish I would have kept better track of my losses like you did. It would be nice to go back and take a look at progress on days you're struggling. You're doing awesome, btw!:)

TaylorMayde- Congrats on your week 1 results! You're doing awesome, especially with everything you had going on last week. Congrats on the new apartment in a convenient location. I just moved from a neighborhood where I could walk to several places to the middle of nowhere. Both have their good points.;) Also glad to hear your brother is doing better. My DH had meningitis about 8 years ago. It was scary, especially since they thought he had the more serious type at first. Thankfully he didn't and after a few weeks he was 100% back to his old self again.

Lindora kind of irritates me but so far when I've had issues and called them they're always been very nice and made things right. As long as they fix things when they screw up without giving me any hassle I'll continue to order from them. Just to let you know though, shipping always takes at least a week once it's left the warehouse, and sometimes it can take a few days to process the order. Basically, just make sure you have enough food on hand cause you might not see your order for a few weeks or longer. I'm still waiting on my vanilla boxes that I ordered May 28! I called them last week and they're shipping them out right away. Ah, the things we put up with to save some money.

Congrats on your purchase! It's funny how new clothes in smaller sizes can make us all giddy.... but we've worked hard for smaller sizes and deserve to get giddy! LOL! Try not to stalk the UPS/FedEX delivery guys too much!;)

I order the vanilla and mocha drink boxes from Lindora and they work just fine! The vanilla taste the exact same as IP and I love the mocha ones!

I have no idea, but I see what you're saying and am interested to see if anyone has any thoughts about this.

Update on me...... I was supposed to WI today, but decided to skip. TOM is lurking and I feel huge, disgusting, tired and cranky as **** today, so I said screw it I'm not going. At least the wanting to eat nonstop has ended. Does anyone else want to eat nonstop before TOM comes? Actually, I think I forgot to eat lunch yesterday. I got busy unpacking boxes and can't remember if I ate. I do have one NSV to report! I bought a jean skirt last week and the closest size they had to my current size was a 12. I decided to buy it thinking I could fit into it down the road. Over the weekend I was wondering how far I had to go until I could fit into it, so I tried it on. It fit!!:carrot::carrot::carrot: I'm sure this will be the only 12 I can wear for a while, but I don't care, I'll take it! I'm so glad I decided to try it on because if I would have waited the month or so I was planning on it would have been too big!

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I have a hard time getting "breakfast" in if I don't add the vanilla pre-made to my coffee. I did try substituting the vanilla pudding in its place and it was quite possibly the worst thing I've ever drank. Ugh. Oh well. I guess I'll stick with my usual and toss in an extra box of jello. Thanks Yelliemom for the info on Lindora. I wish I'd remembered to order a box of the mocha to try! I hope to move soon and when I do, I'll probably just go with Lindora products and/or Pure Protein.

Thanks!

Forgot to add. I had 6 bottles of water within 3 hours this morning. I hope this isn't another sinus infection coming on but I'm feeling kinda crappy again. I left a message with my dr's office so hopefully I'll hear back soon. Makes me wish I could drink orange juice and eat soup.

Just wondering about everyone's weigh loss goals... I set my ideal weight at 160, but I have no idea if that will be enough/too much. How did everyone else decide? I guess I will wait and see when I get close to there and see if I want to lose more or less?

kiki28 07-06-2010 03:50 PM

so its been a while since ive been on here. i have to admit i have been bad..eating out, ice cream...when i get stressed, i eat!! i did start the cleanse a bit a go but when off cause of the flu and now back on. i am on day 2 of being "good" no cheating!! but find it hard and i am hating salads...there are veggies i dont like and thus am sick of eating the same ones over and over and over....its hard to eat 4 cups of veggies a day...i am not a rabbit!! :D

a thing that bugs me is my coach, her scale is off by 4 lbs and she admitted it and yet she still uses it!!

my friend rejoined the program n lost 20 lbs and 22 inches...im envious!! im stuck and feel lost not to mention extremely stressed and broke!

I'm on week 11 (going on 12) and have have suddenly become very sensitive to the packets - very nauseous after my packets and throughout the day and my hair is falling out as well-have any of you gone through this nauseated fase or is it just me? My protocol is so different than most of you are on (I'm on 5 paks/day plus extra protein and veggies and if I do 'more' than usual in a day i'm supposed to add a 6th). I hate the nauseous feeling all day - so yukky all the time.

I'm not giving up, will get thru this as well - hair loss and all - just wondered if anyone else has felt this way and what you've done to get through it. thanks.

I put it on the challenge thread, but...I'm in the 150's with a 159.2, exactly 4 pounds for the week! And I weighed in a day early...although, in the morning instead of afternoon, so I'm calling it even. That's my best since my first weigh in. This week, I added 'walking the dog to the park and back' to my mix, (which, according to myplate, is about 135 calories) although it did make me hungry the days I walked.

Nitenic: Honestly, I think its a decision based on your relationship with your coach, but I'm adding Lindora to the mix and not telling my coach. I don't get the warm and fuzzy vibe from them, and I'm not sure they would be all that understanding.

Thanks! I keep believing that. I just know, until I prove otherwise, I will have that question/feeling in the back of my mind.

I went out of my way to be good on my Anniversary trip, denied myself the things I wanted and was generally unhappy about SALAD and soggy veggies the whole freaking time and gained.

Why did I gain? Well, since hiking I haven't been in constant ketosis. In fact, I haven't been in ketosis since Thursday maybe? My hikes have been Wed, Sunday and yesterday. Hiking makes me ravenous, so I eat more. Been making sure I get my oils and such in to fill me up, but I've been hitting 800-850 calories a day on hiking days. On Friday I had almost 50g carbs total with the stupid bar I had instead of ice cream. My only cheat food was 6 croutons.

I'm mad that I have to be hungry on this diet, even when I'm in ketosis I'm hungry. I'm mad that I can't exercise fully to where I feel mentally better. I'm mad that even if I burn 400 calories or more in a workout (I have a garmin that tracks heart rate and all that fun stuff) I still gain or stay the same. I'm mad that I pay all this money and my coach hasn't talked to me in 2 weeks. Some guy in FL was supposed to look over my food journals to see why I was losing so little before exercise and she was going to get back to me, 2 weeks ago. I'm her first vegetarian and she's lost. I'm lost. I'm considering Alternative, as at least it will be a bit cheaper. I'm still unsure and a bit down in the dumps.

This week I'm going to try to do what I did W1, looking at my food journals and trying to keep the same meals. *sigh* I just feel lost and complainy, sorry all!

Xanthia,

I am so sorry this is at an aggravation stage for you! You are obviously trying and doing all you can or know to do.

I was looking at the information you have on your page. I notice you are 5'8" and 153.7 pounds. I am not sure of your age (guessing early 30's) and I am not sure of your bone structure (I'd guess medium based on that being the majority of women). When you look at those bits and guesses. It seems to me you are at a healthy BMI (23.4) and right in your ideal weight range. Ideal for an adult, medium frame, 5'8" woman is 130 -164.

Is it possible you are so close to your natural, ideal weight that the diet is not working well? Meaning, are you eating to FEW calories per day now? You mention exercising and burning 400 calories. You also mention eating only 850 calories per day. That means you really are only getting about 450 calories a day. THAT IS STARVATION!! If you are exercising you need to be at a healthy calorie intake. Given that you are already a normal BMI and weight for your height, it is possible you aren't eating enough. If you were to continue doing that, it is possible, you could lose muscle and increase body fat. Do you know where your body fat percentage is? If you are under 25% it will be harder to lose weight because you are also at a normal body fat level. It will also be more critical that you are eating plenty of healthy calories. If you want to exercise to tone and lose, you need a good calorie level from healthy protein, low carb, low fat. It will aid your body in building muscle and burning fat while you exercise.

Have you looked at any healthy weight/ideal weight calculators, calorie need calculators, bmi calculators, healthy body fat charts for your height and bone frame?? If you want to check out a few. I have posted a few below. You will find there is some variation as to the idea of "healthy". That said, my guess is you are "right there" and your body isn't willing to respond to extremely low calories.

Try some added vitamin c, you can get the powder form and mix with a hot water (tea pot warm) and it tastes nice. You can also do a vegetable soup or homemade chicken broth. Avoid too many carbs and added salt and you should be fine. When I am getting a sinus infection I do a nasal rinse with a product called "neil md" sinus rinse. It is easy and really does help. You can get it at most pharmacys near the neti pots.

About the vanilla pre-made. Given that so many clinics are having issues getting them, have you asked your coach how her access is? Maybe the lack of availability will be your "excuse" to go elsewhere. Otherwise, tell her you want to cut back cost and have a product that works. As I see it, see loses a bit of revenue on 1 box and proves she cares about you losing weight, improving health, and working with her. OR, she loses total revenue on 3 boxes and proves it was about the money.

I only become nauseous when I am starting to dehydrate. It is because the concentration of ketones goes up. Do you know if you are staying well hydrated? It is summer so maybe your water need is going up?

I remember when I started my coach said something about hitting a "pocket" around week 12 where you are really burning fast. Maybe that is effecting you?
