Thanks Stacey! You just did! I know it isn't easy. I know I have created my own delay and "agony" (can't find an emoticon for a drama queen! lol)

I will get back on. Hopefully, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, it will bring with it some significant weight loss!

It's so compulsive and self-defeating...yet we still do it even though our rational brains know it is all wrong!

Oh, I knew what I could be getting myself into. I was right out defiant. It wasn't a quick thing, I waited for a thing to cook, even thought about tossing it out before it finished. NOPE.. I was defiant. I was unhappy, miserable, and it seems to hot to exercise so, I did what I "wanted" even though it really wasn't good for me or what I wanted long term.

I guess, I have broken the physical need for food as a comfort. Now, I have to break the mental piece.

I had a meeting with my music producer last night in the Domain at a swanky restaurant. I did very well just drinking my water and nothing else. Then he gave me some really good news and insisted that we get a celebratory glass of champagne. Yeah well....I didn't finish it, but the glass wasn't full at the end of the night either.

Good thing today is a new day and hopefully ketosis is right around the corner again. How long does it take to get back into it once you stupidly put yourself out of it?

Not a failure. Like Stacey's quote indicates, your only a failure if you don't get back up!

What's the deal with this music producer? Do we have an artist in our midst?? :) I am glad you had something worth celebrating. Can you share?

After reading the posts today, I feel like you are leading a group prayer! :) So many of us have had challenges this week.

Hang on, it'll get better.. :hug    In a way, it's good that this comfort food was not conforting, this means that your tastebuds, and, more important, the way you think, have changed.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!! This is horrible. I would do nightmares everynight if that ever happen to me !!:sp::sp::sp::sp:

Thanks, Sandy! I love being able to chat with everyone! I agree. My tastebuds have definitely changed. I was wondering how I would handle carby baked goods in the future.. UH, no issues there! Don't even care if I have them again.

The spiders! Yep, I have lots of spider stories. I HATE them. I have had the experience I shared with the wolf spiders. (They are aggressive bugggers! I had one track me down a side walk. My dad just watched and laughed!) I have also been bitten by a brown recluse, on the left side of my face (near the eye), while vacationing at Victoria, BC. That was fun! I had it happen a day before we flew home and I had horrible swelling start. By the time I got home, HUGE sore on my face, ended up in the hospital 3 separate times, had a Dr. write a script wrong which the pharmacy filled, ended up with an overdose on an antibiotic, had internal hives, ended up on another med for 6 months, and, drum roll, all I have left to show is this circular scar with nerve damage on my left temple! :) Yep... I don't like spiders!

Lately it seems whatever can go wrong will go wrong. My husband hurt his back right before his brothers wedding needless to say he was not his usual life of the party self at the wedding. Then on Tuesday I left work to go to the gym and someone liked my gym bag and decided to smash the drivers rear window to get it ... so much for going to the gym ... no car... no gym clothes.
I love reading all your posts as they make me smile and help keep me sane.

HI All, Today I jumped on the scale and I am down a few more pounds...I can't believe the scale.....I feel on top of the world right now....I have been reading and looking at all your great successes over the last month and have been so jealous as the huge losses you have all had in your journey. I was angry that I didn't get serious sooner....but now that I am in the 190's I feel like I am starting to feel like the old me. I feel like a success. This is such a great program.

For those of you that have had a challenging week....keep fighting. One strategy I have used is getting up really early....near dawn and going for a walk. The calm of the morning helps you think about what you are doing and how you are feeling.

on another note. my a-hole husband got on the scale again today(after 5, yes 5 chili dogs last night) and managed to LOSE 2 WHOLE FRICKIN' POUNDS!!!!!!!!!! argggggggggggggh! i hate men(no offense men) and their metabolisms. and yes, there was no emotion in the 2 lb loss either. of course. i hope he gains 5 tomorrow.

I believe us southerners like ANY sort of alcohol. I feel ya on the margarita pusher, and i definitely feel ya on the vodka. All my roomates were drinking at our (southern-style) shrimp broil this weekend, and they were ALL encouraging me to have a beer or a shot. "Just one won't hurt" But then it would be "one more won't hurt and one more wont hur't" and before you know it, I'd be drunk as a skunk, and forgetting I couldn't eat bread. So I styaed sober--barely--and watch them all stumble around :dizzy:

Dand, I wish Wal*Mart had a program like frequent flier miles! I would be making money off of them!! I used to work in the Portrait Studio at Wal*Mart as a photographer, and I was worse then than I am now. And trust me, I'm a little fattie ;) Years of pageants tought me to photograph very well, but I'll upload the picture I took for my before shot. You won't even recognize me. I must own up! The determination has been shaky lately. I probably should visit the OOPS thread but, I just can't stand putting in writing just how bad I have been. I feel HORRIBLE.. let's hope that says enough. :( I just got sick of where I have been.. stuck and bored and hating the long haul and wishing for something else.. I did major emotional eating on old comfort foods and UGGH!!! YUCK.. feeling gross and horrible and, worse, my comfort foods didn't taste like and aren't so "comforting" anymore. It has been a real let down.

Oh well, I did learn that I like how I feel eating the IP way. I forgot some of the ways things made me feel. I also think, if not eating the IP way makes me feel so bad, I HAVE NO problem eating IP or simply for as long as it takes.

I have 10 pounds to make my IP goal. I have no idea when I will be allowed to go to phase 2. I think when I get to 150 I will do 5 pound evaluations to see when I want to stop. I think I want to make 135 - 140 but, I might stop before that if I feel good and like how I look.

In any case, unless I can get some great thing goin', I will be here on phase1 for another 8 weeks.

That's more than okay with me :carrot: I couldn't be doing this without all of you ladies

I read this morning that studies show that women lose a lot more weight with support from other people. So thanks everyone for all of the kind words over the past 5 months.
Oh and YES I am celebrating going from a BMI that was "obese" to now "overweight"29.7

Congrats on the 50 pounds! You rock!!

Two pounds isn't bad, but you already know I think that!! I think you're beautiful, and I happen to know your mother, and apparently co-worker think you've lost enough already! It's all about what you want to lose, but know you're beutiful right now --and your son is pretty handsome too--, exactly how you are, and you're a huge inspiration to me. You're the whole reason I started the diet, and I sooo owe you for that. Maybe I'll make you guys dinner one night

I've done a lot of learning lately. Everything --no matter how stupid it seems--happens for a reason, and I thought of something they don't tell you but definitely should about this diet.

You have to be strong to do this diet. If you're strong enough to do THIS, you're strong enough to handle ANYTHING

Now if you will all excuse me, I should really get back to doing my invoicing at work :D

Thanks for a great sounding idea!.. I mixed up a batch of this & it's sitting in the fridge, waiting for tonight's supper...

Okay, y'all... I'm gonna be the guinea pig with the wheatgrass juice... I ordered a small container of wheatgrass powder from an online company called Amazing Grass... sugar content is less than a tenth of a gram for an 8 gram shot of the stuff... one shot has the same nutrient value as several servings of veggies... I'll let you know how it goes...

I'm only trying it 'cause it says it's good for stopping hair loss... gotta do something, my hair in front was already pretty thin... I suppose I'm losing it all over my head, but the front is the most noticeable, of course... those of you who have noticed thinning hair, are you losing it all over or just in some spots?..

hugs

xanthia 07-08-2010 04:30 PM

I used to do Amazing Grass Superfood in my green smoothies, but I quit because of the carb content. Never had the plain wheat grass from them, but the superfood is a bit grainy.

nitenic 07-08-2010 04:38 PM

Just got back from weigh in #9. I lost an inch in my hips, half an inch in my arms and 4.5 lbs! I'm now down 37 lbs total. :carrot:

I'm losing it all over. I've been eating slow carbs since May 20, but the hair loss hasn't slowed down yet. Carla says it could take 6 months to a year to get through with the cycling--ACK!!!! Fortunately, I had a lot of hair before. Now I'm the only one (so far) who can tell how much hair I'm losing. Let me know if the wheat grass helps. I'm going to look for some inositol next time I go to the health food store. I've been taking 50 grams per day in my Source of Life vitamins which I tried for a month, but I'm out. Still no slow down. Carla says it helps.

I personally have not purchased any at all, so I haven't used them throughout this process. My coach never suggested them, and I figure as long as I stick to the program and am losing weight then I'm in ketosis. Besides, I really don't need another obsession, the scale is enough of an obsession, LOL!

My hair thinned all over. Unfortunately, I have had fine, thin hair most of my life. I did notice it most on top of my head, forward on the crown.

I use them only occasionally. Usually, when I think I am doing everything just right and am stalled. There is no point using them when I have cheated. That'd just be a waste. As to using them when I am just getting back into the swing of the plan, I wait until the first weigh in after to see. If I lost and did exactly as instructed, I am probably in.

The product I used was a choline/inositol blend. I also take selenium. I have a slight hypothyroidism. Hair loss can be caused by that too, although, this seems new.

I have tried a few things but, based on the overall symptoms, timing, and way it all fell out, I am guess the problems were diet related and rapid loss related. For me, things are leveled off and I think I am seeing a bit of change.

Lol...I can't share everything yet but I can give you a little background. I used to sing the National Anthem at the basketball, baseball, and softball games at Baylor University (where I did my undergrad and grad work). At one of the basketball games I sang at, a producer was in the audience. He contacted my PR person and we started talking. He's written and produced for Celine Dion (and idol of mine). I've been working with him for almost 4 years now and we're trying to get me out of the Texas market and into a bigger one. Hence, the meeting. :D
