Regarding the headaches - do they start at a certain time of day or do you wake up with them?
How many calories are you eating and do you know your aproximate macronutrient breakdown? What program are you following? Fast 5? |
John - I'm following Fast 5 - my calories are anywhere from 1200-1600 but I don't know the breakdown, and my eating window is usually from 2-7. I usually wake up with the headache but if I don't, it comes and goes throughout the day. The first time was the worst - I woke up with it in the middle of the night and again in the morning and it lasted all day. It hasn't been nearly that bad recently though. Today I haven't had one at all.

have you changed anything else?

Also - make sure your final meal has plenty of protein. |
hi everyone!
so i just starting IF recently because i think it works better for my lifestyle. if i eat throughout the day, i'm always hungry and never feel satisfied, but with IF i can limit how much i eat without feeling like i'm starving myself. i didn't get to read through the whole thread, so i'm not sure if this has been asked before, but does anyone calorie cycle while doing IF? i dont think i've been getting enough calories (i usually eat around 1300 and i do moderate to intense workouts 5x/week) and i've realized in order to keep losing weight, calories will have to eventually decrease and 1300 doesn't really give me much room to go any lower... |
I'm happy to say that the headaches are gone... AND I weighed in at my lowest weight in 2 years this morning!! My official weigh in isn't until Tuesday so I'm not going to get too hyped about it yet, but I weighed in at 147.4, which is great because I've been bouncing around 150 for weeks now. I love Fast 5!!

Way to go tonimaroni!

WTG, Tonimaroni!!
Still chugging along here on IF even though no loss on the scale. I will be taking measurements today so I don't give up if there is no loss again on the scale next week. I'm still lovin' this WOE, though! |

Hi everyone! I haven't been checking in as much lately because it's been a couple of weeks since fasting. I stopped because I found myself binging when I would break my fast (usually dinner time). I haven't been eating till lunch time the past couple of weeks though, and I really like doing that because I feel like I can have a larger lunch and dinner. Today is my first full fast back! And I'm loving it. Just stopping in to say hello. Everyone have a great day!

Hello everyone! I have completed 6 days on IF. During my fasting time, I have enjoy different types of teas. That helps me alot with hunger. Late at night I feel hunger pangs, but when I have tea before bedtime, it calms the hunger. Now I want to add exercise to my routine using light weights. I have to determine what is the best time for me to exercise, in the morning or afternoon before my eating window.( 2pm to 7pm)

Hi guys, I'm interested in this lifestyle. I was wondering, do the 'windows' have to be at a specific time? I'm usually randomly busy and can't really keep track of when I'm supposed to eat if I'm out doing stuff. So some people say their "window" is from 12-6pm, but I just never know when I'll be able to get home and eat. Can our window be in the morning, say from 6am - 12pm? I'd still like to eat breakfast especially since I find myself nauseous without it. I have school from 8-11:30 so.

I decided to play some basketball today after fasting for about 22 hours. I wondered how well I'd be able to function since basketball can be pretty intense. After the first hour I started to feel like my legs were made out of rubber. After about 90 minutes I was done.
Since I can't really eat right after intense exercise I drank some gatorade and then was feeling so wiped I could have easily fallen asleep. I shook it off because I knew I needed to get some fuel in my system. Ate about 1800 calories and now ... a little less than four hours after I finished playing ... I'm JUST starting to feel normal. Moral of the story (for me anyways) is not to exercise intensely for 90 minutes after a day of fasting. |
John - good work getting your exercise in regardless... and now you know! My body doesn't tollerate basketball at all, let alone after a 22 hour fast. LOL I've been jogging/walking quickly in the evenings a couple hours after breaking my fast and the energy level for that is perfect. I'm losing closer to 2 lbs per week, rather than the expected 1 lb, which is a little concerning... but I feel great and i'm eating until I'm full so I guess that's the idea.
On a side note, I had that gross taste in my mouth so I got out the Ketone strips and tested my urine and sure enough, i'm in ketosis. I find this hard to believe because I haven't been restricting carbs at all. I suppose that's why I'm losing lbs so steadily. Is this typical? I can't remember reading about it in the book. |
