Hi Everyone! I'm just doing a quick fly-in. Wow, tons of new activity here. So glad to see IF growing.

I've been crazy busy with work, gardening, taxes, and of course all the regular family stuff.

I'm going to shoot for a 24 hour mid week fast. I've had some carb attacks. It all starts out innocently as a holiday meal, and ends up with 2 weeks of bad habits. I have found the best way to nip it is to do a 24 hour, so no more procrastinating. Off I go!

Have a great IF day, everyone!

Prettylady411 I don't know what your eating window is, but you may need to adjust it (if you are doing fast 5 or leangains at any rate). I need to eat right before I go to bed to sleep well. Others have to move their window back and not eat close to bedtime. Sometimes you have to play with it and see what works for you!

I would like to join this thread. I have been doing intermittent fasting for a month or so and love it! I live in a small town and the few people i have talked about this think I am crazy so will be nice to talk with others that are doing it. I also just got a treadmill desk this week so I think that will REALLY help with my desk job.

My window can't be too close to bed time OR too far away. I havent done well the times I tried to shut it down early because of some life thing.

Today is rough. ds woke me up at 1 am and I never got back to sleep. Can't fit in a nap, so it's been harder to fast today, body screaming for energy from somewhere.

April...love the treadmill desk, mine is disassembled right now - I cant run when its up, but I need to get it back soon.

I have a treadmill at home for running/walking in the winter months, but just purchased a pre - made treadmill desk for work. It has a button that adjusts from sitting, to standing to treadmill. I believe sitting so much is terrible and it would be a gift for myself to get off my behind!

I have been doing a 6 hour eating window, but sometimes it is down to four and on some days it is up to 8, but that is usually on the weekends. During the week I pretty much stick to 2 pm - 8 pm.

heh, my treadmill desk is an old Reebok step aerobics step. It fits on my treadmill perfectly although I want to add a slightly deeper part right under the laptop. Best part is it takes 2 minutes to assemble/disassemble. Which means I really have no excuse to not be on it. Right. Now.

Count Me In

Greetings all...I've read this thread from the first post to the last and it has been so affirming. Like others, I (unknowingly) ate in a Fast-5 fashion from the time I was a preteen until my mid-twenties and was always healthy and very slender. My eating patterns changed after my son was born...I started preparing regular homemade healthy meals for him and of course, to set a "good" example, sat with him and ate at each of those meals. Unfortunately, this became a way of life and even though I am still very healthy, I am far from slender. And of course, like many of you, I bought into the whole "smaller, more frequent meals" BS.

I recently returned to my old Fast-5 like eating habits and am so much happier and healthier. I break fast at 12 noon and my window can be anywhere from 1-4 hrs. I'm a salad lover and have a huge salad at noon - it is usually so filling, I don't want anything else during my window. If I do, I usually really crave some mango or an apple. I chose a daytime, at work window because it makes it easier to cut alcohol out of my daily diet. If my window is in the evening, I have a hard time skipping my "dinner wine" and/or my "bath time wine". I also find that I can get a lot of housework and yard work done in the evening as an alternative to dinner. (I do a longer fast on Saturday so I can indulge and get my wine fix. :D)

I'm so inspired by everyone's hard work and great attitudes...keep it up!

Return2Fast5 - Welcome. Glad to have you here.

Never heard of the desk treadmill till now. I showed it to DH and told him I'd love to have a desk like that attached to my stationary bike. Mine is too loud for watching tv, but I could use and enjoy a desk.

Hey all. Welcome Return. My weight has been moving but since I have been lacking exercise my body doesn't look as tight. I am going out of town tomorrow but plan to do exercises everyday. Doing a 24 hour fast til tomorrow. I still keep my 1 a week. It really pushes my weight down. I am still doing fast 5 on the other days. When I start running more miles I'll go back to 16/8. Glad to see everyone is doing well.

:cheer2::cheer3::cheer2::cheer3: Good Job PrettyLady! :cheer2::cheer3::cheer2::cheer3:

KTucke7 04-18-2012 09:53 AM

Yeah Prettylady! Feels great doesn't it?? :) :) I remember when I broke through that barrier. I marked the day and said to myself "I will never, ever, let myself go above that again."

BKLady4 04-18-2012 09:55 AM

Way to go Pretty!!

Mizzthing - how did your fast go?

Aprilfool - where did you purchase your desk treadmill? I've been thinking of getting one..

My cold has gotten a bit better.. but yesterday was not the day for a fast, and I ended up eating. Today I'm doing it and I'm feeling very motivated! I also bought a new scale yesterday... stepping on that definitely had huge motivating factors. Body fat, weight, BMI.

Prettylady411 04-18-2012 02:44 PM

Thanks everyone - it feels AWESOME!!! I certainly hope to always stay in ONEDERLAND for the rest of my life. It's been so long since I have been there and I don't want to lose it. Super milestone to hit and so happy, but I have a long way to go to hit my goal. But I am on my way there!

I have to ask (and I feel like a dummy asking) - what is a desk treadmill? Never heard of it before. :) Hey - I don't get out much.
