I love the display. I need to be able to see my numbers throughout the day.

I've had quite a few people ask what it is when I wear short sleeves. I just explain what it does. I've had 3 people say they were going to get one.

I totally agree with the statement above! It helps me stay on target if I can pull the display out of my pocket and see how I am doing throughout the day.

I've only had 1 person so far find out I had the GWF on my arm, she tapped my arm to get my attention and I was like oh no..LOL...then she felt my arm because when she tapped me she felt it. She asked me what it was...and well being the type of person she is..I really didn't want her to know I was trying to lose weight because I don't think she would leave me alone about it. So I told her it was a thing to count my steps...which it does do;) She didn't aske me anything else about it.

you have to factor in the 125 plus the membership fee.

I think the 250 is a good price. Mine came with a L and an M armband last year, I love the display and the 1 year membership is motivation all in it self!

As for it showing, no one really notices that I can tell and if they ask, I tell them or just say it is a "glorified" pedometer...I have been wearing mine for a little more than a year now. AND who cares what others think, this is about YOU!!!

I love it and it's so true!!! If people are nosy enough to ask I will tell them. I have come a long way in my journey and I'm so past caring what others think... I think that's when I turned my corner. When I started worrying about myself and not others!

Idealmuse 02-10-2010 02:46 PM

I'm surprised more people haven't asked. I only had one person ask this entire time, and it was someone who already knew I was using one. They were just like "Oh is that your... blah blah blah"

I figure people think it's a mp3 type armband.

What's even funnier is when I'm at the gym I have my iPhone on one arm and the bugg on the other. I must look like a major geek!

Ok my first real day has been tracked and I am so in love with this. I knew that I was not burning the calories that Daily Plate said I was.
I did find out the when I run I burn 10 calories per min, that is awesome because I love to run.
Total I burned 2550 cal yesterday with 1 hr 12 min of activity.
Daily Plate has been saying that I burn 2400 without ANY exercise. Wow is it wrong! No wonder my weight lose has been slow.

eviemc most of those online calculators over estimate for me too... which I why I really love the Bodybugg. Plus my tredmill just told me I burned 800+ calories but when I check with my bodybugg it says 679. All those little discrepancies add up.

I use the same things (except I have a Sensewear instead of a BB) and I have had a bunch of people stop me and ask about my gadgets.

19Deltawifey 02-10-2010 10:18 PM

I am actually shocked at how much I burn, the online calculators would always say that I was sedetary since I wan't exercising regularly but the BB is reminding me that Im not sedetary. I burned 3000 cals today and I didn't even go to the gym. I move a lot during the day its pretty rare that I can sit for more then a hour. Having 2 young kids, a pup and a part time job keeps me moving. Im just happy the BB is recognizing the fact that I move a lot even though I rarely hit the gym.

eviemc 02-11-2010 08:40 AM

Carly-that is great, wish I could get a burn like that. I am starting to understand how much I do not move when I am not exercising. I homeschool my kids and they are all older so I sit at the table on my laptop working or helping them for most of the day, this burns about the same as sleeping.

SamanthaJubilee 02-11-2010 10:30 AM

I like the fact that I can look at my display (when it's not being a pain) and see how many calories I've burned. So if it is getting close to the end of the day and I know I need a certain # to hit my 1000 calorie deficit...I can go for a walk or jump rope or clean house. Just something to burn off those extra calories.

I guess the people where I live must be nosier than other places. I get asked what it is all the dang time. I don't mind though, especially not at this point when I can tell them about the success I've had so far. I know that I personally have inspired at least 3 people to go get buggs, one of them is now over 20 pounds down herself. I just give them the short answers first and if they ask for more detail then what I tell them depends on how they asked. If it sounds like they are curious because it might help them then I give them all the info I possibly can on the thing, including a demonstration of the digital display. There have been a few times that I have reset the trip meter and done a jog in place versus just stand there demo for people. If they seem more interested in the tech of it then I will guide them to my hubby if he's around - he is fascinated with the tech of my bugg and so has studied it and can answer them better.

I put my iPod on my hip, my bugg is on my arm, my phone, calculator, and the digital display are on the shelf of the machine I'm on, and depending on the kind of day I'm having I might need to have my glucometer with me. I even once had a woman (nicely) say something about all my "gadgets".
