Then I guess I celebrated Boxing Day, too. It's always a relief to wake up the day after and know you don't have to rush around anymore. And it was lovely having all that food in the fridge. Most was pretty healthy, too, eaten in smaller portions.

I looked up Boxing Day on Wikipedia. It was interesting the number of different theories there are as to how the day came about. The one that makes most sense to me is when the lord of the land would give boxes of necessities out to the peasants who worked the land for him. He would give them out the day after Christmas.

I'm back to my pre-holiday routine....eating well, exercising. I gained about 8 pounds since Thanksgiving (aargh!). 10 to go until goal now.....to think it could have been just 2--kind of exasperating, but oh, well, I can do it.

I'll have that cup of tea now. Nothing to go with it--I'm back on track!

I'm so glad Christmas is over! OK, there it's out. I think the season is fun, but way too much effort. I hope I'm not the only grinch here. It's just the more Christmasses I stack up, the more I like New Year's.

I'll take a cup of anything that is ready to go....its really busy here with helicopters flying overhead every few minutes. I assume they are in part watching the traffic. You see, the funeral is less than 2 miles from my house and a major highway into town has been closed and traffic diverted closer to my home. It may be interesting trying to get to work and home again! I almost want to stay home and take the dogs for a walk--but they may not allow that. (I could go to the funeral, but would have to drive 8 miles east to take a shuttle back to my neighborhood!!) My usual walking route takes me past the church and then one street along my route is completely turned into a parking lot for all the media. Its amazing how fast they all converged on the area! I remember when Senator Bono died and his funeral took place. I was at home for that (I don't remember why) and was glad due to all the road closures for that funeral.

Hello darlings! I'm in the beautiful sunny south. I'm about ready for a nap ... I think I got sunburned this morning!

This place is empty tonight. I'll have a cup of lemon chamomile and work on my quilt over here on this table. Everybody must be on vacation. Not me, I'm staying home this New Year's. Just a little celebrating with family and friends tomorrow night.
