He's sixteen.

Make the veggie sticks and dips anyway. Then eat them. It will protect you. Even if you eat it all yourself you can't do too much damage. lol

I have a blood condition that prevents me from donating blood, but I was able to donate plasma yesterday for the first time ever. The initial interview/physical was pretty invasive (and loooong) but I am happy to be able to help. Not to mention, unlike whole blood donation, they PAY you (the plasma is for pharmaceutical development, not for emergency use).

I found out, though, that it really depletes your body. So I had to eat far more than I ordinarily would on a DownDay to replenish my protein, because I don't want to lose muscle tissue. I ate two additional eggs and several Weight Watchers cheese sticks. And still lost weight!

Here are the stats of the plasma they take out of you:

110 lbs - 149 lbs
690 ml Plasma:
483.69 calories
Protein 49.51 g
Carbohydrates 63.65 g
Fat 3.45 g

Hah! I have found my new weight loss plan! lol/jk Donate twice a week and it's like burning almost 1000 extra calories. Plus $$$.

3/3: 147.0
3/5: 146.0
3/6: 145.6
3/8: 145.2
3/9: 144.2
3/11: 143.8

Shrinking, donating plasma is a good deed, whether you are paid or not! There's only so much available for both the researchers and the patients. I used to give blood regularly, then they closed the donation center nearest me and I haven't donated since.

Yesterday was a click day. The scale is down a smidge to 144.8 I also have an NSV to report: a friend at work commented on my weight loss (and remember, I've only lost about 14 pounds since my most recent high). DH doesn't notice it, but he sees me every day.

I am at the plasma center donating again.

Today I weighed in at 143.0! I might actually be in the 130's by April! I am starting to get excited. I am one pound away from a meaningful milestone. I weighed 142 when I went on my first diet in my 20's. I will be happy soooo happy to get below that number.

Shrinking, congratulations on closing in on that important milestone!

Zumbachica, I've found that exercise does help me lose weight. Not only does it help goose the scale, but I think it helps with the mind game too and many of us will be glad to see the end of this winter!

Yesterday was another click day and I was down another smidge to 144.6. I guess if I stay below 145 another couple days, I will move the ticker again!

I have no idea where I'm at... I'm expecting the scale to be up right now due to water weight, but it fluctuated from 143-149 simply based on where on the floor I placed the scale. Guessing my true weight is about 142-144. In any case, I hope to be out of the 140s soon. It will be so great to see 13_ on the scale!

I'm very close to a milestone - March 15 marks one year since going gluten-free for health reasons (which is what started the weight loss). I've lost almost exactly 60 lbs over the year (with lots of maintenance months). Something to celebrate, and I'm looking forward to another year of it!

Welcome lulubellebc! You've done great and so close to your goal now!!

And to you chronostasis! Hopefully you can get to the bottom of your scale mystery and have a definite reading, it must be difficult not to be sure but either way, you're doing great to have lost so much already!!

Well done on your whooshes and click days yoyoma! Where are you at now?

And congrats shr1nk1ng to get to that important milestone, it's all down from here!!

Weighed in at 144.7 today which meant a 0.5lb drop but on the plus side, I have LESS than 10lbs to lose now and I'm under 145 (kind of the same thing but two ways to look at how far I've come) . Also, a dress I tried on on Wednesday which used to be tight now fits like a baggy t-shirt!! The weirdest part is that it is loose round the middle, so I am super happy that I've lost inches round there, I guess I knew that from my falling-down old pants but it was more apparent in the dress. Well, gotta hit the gym to make up for not going for a couple days and then guess I gotta get me some new clothes!!

Welcome, lulubellebc, happy to have you join us!

Chronostasis, congrats on the milestone and looking forward to continuing your WOE.

Vix, it's fantastic that you are losing around the middle! Even if your weight went up, that would be a big victory!

I had a click day yesterday, but this morning the scale was up to 145.0. Doesn't bother me though; the trend is good!

And this morning, I'm back down to 144.6. If I'm below 145.0 tomorrow, I'm gonna call it.

yoyoma, go ahead and call it! Your weight is headed downward.

I had a nice loss this morning. 141.8! I had to step off the scale, reboot it, and step back on just to be sure. I haven't really been exercising excessively or changed my diet much at all. I did add a new supplement, an improved iron supplement called "Blood builder" because the plasma donation center told me my iron was almost too low to donate. Which I knew, I have always been chronically anemic even though I eat well and take various supplements, including iron and sublingual B12. Maybe the more absorbable iron helped improve my metabolism. As I get closer to goal, mini-whooshes are few and far between. I'll take it!

3/4:147.0
3/6: 145.6
3/8: 145.2
3/9: 144.2
3/11: 143.8
3/12: 143.0
3/14: 141.8

Wow, Shrinking, congrats on the loss! I hope your new supplement takes care of your borderline anemia.

I was down to 144.2(!) today, so I am taking 145. I'm still walking quite a lot (on the treadmill now) and that seems to keep pushing the scale down.

I hope so. Regular iron supplementation has never really helped my anemia because it is from a different problem called Thalassemia. My iron levels aren't really that low but my red blood cells are abnormally small so the iron levels don't read correctly in standard blood tests. Anyway the special supplement I have been taking should help the levels read better so I won't be disqualified from donating plasma. I can't donate whole blood because of my Thalassemia.

Yesterday I ate too fast (plumb forgot about the pacing stuff) and ended up overstuffed. But at least I didn't go back for seconds, lol. Anyway, holding steady on the scale at 144.2.
