Default Fat Smashers Weekly Support 10/2-10/8

Hey Smashers!

I hope no one minds me starting a new thread.

I haven't posted in a while. I have been doing good, though. I have lost a total of 12 lbs. Dh (who is smashing with me) has lost 20 lbs! He is doing so good. I am proud of both of us. I had trouble with water weight gain for a few days and kinda got depressed...but I got over that. :0)

Hope you all have a good day!

Morning All!

I just finished my 9 day. Didn't do it religiously. I was still playing around with if I wanted to do the diet. However, I did cut out all meat, white carbs, and sugar. I added alot more water daily. >10 glasses. So far I've lost 14 lbs. Today I'll be starting by the book with exercise. I really like this diet alot and didn't think I'd be able to commit to it. Good luck all!

Congrats on all the wonderful losses.....hmmm..kind of sounds like an oxymoron to me....LOL I started smashing today....I hope I get great results like some of the ones I have seen. I am determined to being the "smaller me". She has been missing for quite some time and I think it's about time I found her. I'd say she's been pretty lonely....

Well I hope everyone had a wonderful, smashing weekend. I did very good. Im hoping to kick up my exercise. My sister who started plan when I did had a setback, she had a severe kidney infection so she was off plan for about a week. She restarted today, so hopefully we will be able to exercise together now. I told her that she is going to have to drink tons more water than she did when she started, Im wondering if she didnt drink enough and thats how she got the infection.

Im really starting to feel the weight loss. My legs feel tighter and I really notice it my stomach. Did anybody watch the season finale of Celebrity Fit Club last night. I watched it this morning on the DVR and it was really good. I love it when they show the pictures of them before and after...even just 20 pounds..WOW how much of a difference it can be. I wont talk about it in case any of you have not seen it yet.

Shae8230-Thanks for starting thread, I would have kept on typing in the old one, Im kind of out of it today! Great job to you and your DH.

Eastbaykitten- On your 14 pounds

Braydonsmom-Welcome!! and good luck..I love this plan!!

Hi all -- I did an intro yesterday when I started, but only one person felt the need to comment

Anyway, I think I am on the ball here. I am the type of person who actually likes the regimine and feel of being on a diet - I don't mind redundancy either.

But this has been a bit hard for me, and I am only on day 2. I am eating PLENTY of beans (I dare ya to tell my intestines they aren't!) for protein but it's not the same as meat! I don't know how veggies do it! I am also a bit at a loss for recipes -- I did look here and found a few Phase 1s (modified the Brown Rice and Portobello recipe last night, but DW took the leftovers -- I added corn and a can of tomatoes as well as our allotment of rice for the day so there was one extra serving!) but the recipes are boring.

The two hardest things so far: lack of caffeine=headache and the fact that I can't weigh in for another 8 days! I usually weigh in EVERY DAY! Instead of obsessing though, we put the scale in the closet. I started at 209 (must change ticker) and DW started at 155 (she wants to lose about 10 pounds).

Ok, enough of my yapping...Have a good Monday all!

Just thought I would check in with everyone, hope all is well. Im off to go exercise.

Jenne1017- I know what your going through, but after day 3 it got better and the closer I got to the day I could actually have meat, I really didnt want to eat it. I am a habitual weigher. I never waited, I weighed myself every morning just after my feet hit the ground, and Im still doing it. Those Veggie Crumbles..look just like meat and to me I cant tell the difference, it helped me out. I make Veggie soup all the time, and stir fry's. But with adding different veggies it keeps me from getting bored.

Hey all,

Jenn~ I am sorry that only one person replied to your newbie post. I wasn't online yesterday. The weekends are a little slow on the boards. But, better late than never... WELCOME!!! I have been using tofu to replace meat in a lot of my recipes. I had never tried it before starting this plan. It is pretty good.

Hope~ Congrats on the loss! My jeans are starting to feel a little loose, too. Isn't it a great feeling?

Braydonsmom~ WELCOME!!

Brandilynn~ I watched CFC finale last night. It was good. I can't wait for the next one. Wonder who will be on it???

Menu for today:

B~ cream of wheat

S~ apple

L~ I am sorry to say that I skipped lunch!! I actually forgot about it!!!

S~ yogurt

D~ 1 c. brown rice, pinto beans

S~ yogurt, and grapes

Water~ 50 oz.

I didn't eat enough veggies today. SHAME ON ME! I got to work on that.

Well, I had a good day on plan. I did good on my exercises, which is good for me cause Monday is always the hardest day for me to start them..but if I do it on Monday Im usually faithfull for the rest of the week.

Jenne1017- Im sorry, I dont remember the brand, but It's in the tofu section. It's not just veggies, its soy based I believe. It looks like ground beef already browned. I paid like 2.99 for a 1lb bag, and a little goes along way.

Shae8230- I know I cant wait till next season. I really liked Bone Crusher, that guy has always got a positive attitude.

bubblegirl- and good luck. Planning ahead was a help for me, for when I was at work all day and didnt have a chance to run home for something to eat.

Hey Bubblgirl...

Advice that I could give would be:

Eat every 3 to 4 hours.

Drink plenty of water.

Watch portion sizes.

And this is just my own little tidbit.. take a multi-vitamin (if you don't already)

I think that question about the veggie patties was asked already and if I remember correctly...you can have veggie patties in phase one as long as they don't have cheese or anything that is not allowed on phase 1. Someone correct me if I am wrong on that.

Brandilynn~ I liked Bone Crusher, too. He never complained. He was just happy to be there. lol.

talk to you all tomorrow.

Jenne1017-I recommend the Morningstar Farms crumbles (found in the freezer section w/ other vegetarian products). They can be substituted in any reciped that calls for drained ground beef. I can't say how true the flavor is as I haven't had meat in 12 years, but other meat eaters eat them in chili, tacos, or whatever and don't complain...good sign by me!
