+15.5 miles for the week. I feel as though I'm really straining to do 6 miles -- it's so hard! And I did 26.2 only a month ago!

Today's fun factoid: the nail on my right second toe has separated from the nailbed...I don't know what to do! Do I cut it off? Have a podiatrist deal with it? I'm terrified it's going to catch on something *squick*

ennay 07-26-2009 05:33 PM

Half marathon today. Hilly hot and slow (for me) 2 mile warmup and 0.25 mile cooldown. Needed a longer recovery run but I was done.

When is this heatwave going to end.

EZ - Can she walk the half or the full, I think that would as much fun as running it (maybe more, you can carry a beer without sloshing it)...

Jo she could walk one or a half...we did walk a marathon in 2001...it's just the miles of training each day we need to do...too much for our mutts and us somedays. Her original plan was to do one leg of the relay 8-5-8-5.2.....have 4 of us run the relay pacing my daughter while she did all 26.2

I live in OREGON. Usually summer lasts a week, max. It is so unnaturally hot here this week dh wants to keep our daughter home from Farm camp. I trust the people who run it to scale back the full sun activities to manage the heat and ramp up the otter pops and water.

I am so sore from the hills on my race yesterday.

Mrs Snark 07-28-2009 10:43 AM

+ 4 mile run this morning...

midwife 07-28-2009 12:53 PM

2 today.

Sometimes I have depression issues and I can feel it looming. I wanted to sleep all day. But I did 2 miles and it really helped. When I can force myself to be productive, it helps. I hate feeling this way. Crawling into bed for a month won't help.

I hate those feelings, but like you I've learned that no matter how much I want to just stay under the covers it won't make me feel better -- it will make me feel worse. Good job getting out there and running. Feel better.

Shannon in ATL 07-28-2009 03:01 PM

I forgot to update Saturday! +5 miles at the park! Still recovering from the sunburn to prove it!

And, +1.75 yesterday, elliptical, +2 today, treadmill HIIT.

dixied 07-29-2009 09:50 AM

I'm up to 444. I didn't run while on vacation, and I think my calf appreciates it. I've decided to do a 10K in October, so I anticipate that I will make my goal, even though I am behind schedule.

Mrs Snark 07-29-2009 01:50 PM

+3.11 mile run this morning.

Shannon in ATL 07-29-2009 02:10 PM

Dixie - your new avatar pic looks great! Hot hot hot! :)

+1.85 this morning - split between a 500 meter sprint on the treadmill and steady elliptical.

Mrs Snark 07-30-2009 11:06 AM

+ 3.25 mile run this morning.

Shannon in ATL 07-30-2009 11:42 AM

+1.5 sprint intervals this morning

midwife 08-01-2009 09:23 AM

Thanks, Jo. It was a rough week, but I'm better now!

Looking hot, Dixie!!

Hey Shannon, I was arguing with myself about running this morning. I really haven't run much this week and I was trying to convince myself it was ok to sleep in and run at 2 pm (yeah---in 97 degree heat!! smart one!) and I told myself that "Shannon has probably already finished her run by now." So I hauled my rear out of bed. 3 miles! Woohoo!!

sm177 08-02-2009 06:42 PM

Helllooo all! SF was fantastic, I really enjoyed the half despite all the hills, I finished in 2:05 but didn't feel too tried at the end. I took it easy since I was on vacation. My dad did the full in 3:06 and finished 92nd overall :carrot:. It started at 530am and it was reallly foggy, couldn't even tell we were approaching the Golden gate bridge. It went along the fishermans warf, over the bridge, and finished in golden gate park. It was soo cold there! Anyways now I'm back home and slowly getting back into routine...

Midwife good job! Whenever I feel down running always makes it better, even then it's hard convincing myself to get out the door sometimes.

midwife 08-02-2009 07:25 PM

Congrats on the half, sm!!! :carrot: That's awesome!!! Great time!:carrot:

Isn't it funny how hard it can be sometimes to do the things that will make us feel better?

kittycat40 08-02-2009 10:04 PM

Hey gang! I have been out of town w/o internet access aaaahhhhh, but am connected again ;)

Added up miles from last 11 days---- +20

going to catch up on everyone's posts :)

midwife 08-04-2009 09:01 AM

 Kitty!

2.5 miles today (warmup+sprints/recoveries+cooldown)

dixied 08-04-2009 10:38 AM

Thanks for the compliments!

I'm up to 465 this morning. I've been going twice a day to the track, one run and one brisk walk. Not trying to added some quick miles, I just need to think, and I do my best thinking while walking. :D

I took my measurments this morning, and since Sept. 2005 I've lost 49 inches total. Most of those have come off since I started running last year. And that is why I  running.

Glad I could push you up out of the bed! High five on the 3 miles! Though, I actually didn't get to the park until after 4:00 Saturday, we had DSS this past weekend and his mom didn't get him until 2:30. Let me tell you, I was wishing I had gone earlier when it was over 90 and humid in the afternoon! :)

+4.5 Saturday at the park, started raining really hard before I could get to 5...

+2.75 today, combo of treadmill HIIT & elliptical

MBN 08-04-2009 12:13 PM

I've been missing in action for a while (busy with other life stuff), but I've been running! 688 miles year to date. It is just soooo freakin' hot!

I'll be traveling out of town again next week, but at least it will be a bit cooler where I'm going.

midwife 08-05-2009 08:54 AM

Anywhere exciting, MBN?

It's hot here too. I ran at 5:45 this am and lost 1.5 lbs over the course of 3 miles. Time to hydrate!

midwife 08-06-2009 09:16 AM

3.5 miles today....so weird! I did a major leg workout last night and about 2.8 miles into my run I had to take a walk break....I usually slow down but keep running, but today it was walk or fall over....I walked about 25 meters, and started running again, and then I was fine.

Shannon in ATL 08-07-2009 03:07 PM

+4.5 stationary bike 8/5
+3.5 treadmill HIIT 8/6

midwife 08-08-2009 11:03 AM

3 today!

Shannon in ATL 08-08-2009 03:45 PM

+1.3 yesterday
+6 today!

EZMONEY 08-09-2009 05:45 PM

Did get in 7 this week-end with Angie and the brats...

313/1000 MILES

midwife 08-10-2009 09:21 AM

3 miles run/walk yesterday. What was fun about the walk part was that we found a huge grape vine and ate some grapes from it. How many times have I run by that grape vine without seeing it?

3.5 mile run today!

dixied 08-10-2009 01:00 PM

I did HIIT at the indoor track this morning. +2 which brings me to 487. Since I regained my focus on running I've started losing again.

midwife 08-14-2009 01:05 PM

H Kitty! Are you back from your vacation?

And where is Jo? Come back, Jo, come back!

Shannon in ATL 08-14-2009 01:11 PM

Oops - I didn't update all week... Not a lot of new, but every little bit gets me closer to still falling short of my goal! :dizzy:

8/10 - 500m sprint, not going to add that in...
8/11 - 2.65 miles
8/13 - 2.5 miles

Mrs Snark 08-15-2009 09:25 AM

I'm still here, I just took a 2-week vacation from being online for a while. I got SO much done! School starts up for me again on Monday, which puts me back on the computer alot (I have 3 online classes this semester)...

Shannon in ATL 08-15-2009 03:47 PM

+5 yesterday, stationary bike
+7 today, running at the park

sm177 08-16-2009 06:59 PM

I'm back from doing 100km both today and yesterday! I'm sore, especially my rear and I have a ridiculous sunburn. I did it in 4.5 hours yesterday and 4:15 today. So mannny hills, so far my cycling has been much much harder on me than my running ever has. The event was so awesome and it felt good to be apart of something so amazing, we raised about $500 000 (about 500 of us) for MS. I'll most likely be doing it again next year:carrot:

EZMONEY 08-16-2009 10:36 PM

Great job ladies!

Angie went to Las Vegas for a few days so I took the dogs out solo, after church, for a short one...2 1/2 miles.

319/1000 MILES

midwife 08-17-2009 09:10 AM

Woohoo! Strong work everyone!

It is staying darker longer these mornings. The sun was barely peeking over the mountain peak at 6 am. :(

4 miles Friday
3.5 miles Saturday
3 miles this am!
