I didn't finish the first week. A lot of crap went on and just couldn't get motivated. Well, I'm starting again tomorrow and motivated again. I did finish 2 days so that was something from somebody who couldn't run a couple months ago.
I hope everyone had a good Monday!

Jamie Jo - you rock! You must have been so stoked after finishing W5D3. I totally understand feeling like you could have gone running again. I think its the endorphins and the icredible sense of accomplishment. I am scheduled to do W5D3 tomorrow morning. I plan on starting out slow 4.1 - 4.3 and finishing strong around 5.3 -5.5. You are really rolling at 6mph. I have short little legs and can't seem to maintain that speed for any lenght of time.

I haven't had any problems doing C25K and the shred at the same time. I do each 3X a week. I have done level 1 about 10 to 12 times. I will probably do it another 4 or 5 times before I move on to level 2. I am starting to see some small changes in muscle tone.

Paperclippy - I think Jamie Jo, you and I are all about at the same place in the C25K. Have either one of you thought about doing a turkey trot 5k? We should be just about finished with the program around the time of Thanksgiving.

Instead of having pie I am going to run a 5K. My mil and fil make atleast 9 different homemade pies for Thanksgiving.

Tina - mmm, pie! I thought about a turkey trot, but I am actually repeating each week, so I still have eight weeks to go instead of four. Good luck with yours though!

I missed yesterday's run. The world conspired against me -- I had to go to the doctor for bloodwork in the early morning, so I didn't have time for my run then, and I got home only 45 minutes before I had to leave for my Spanish class, which isn't enough time for me to change, run, shower, and eat dinner. I feel pretty good though so I think I'll just move on to my second 20-min run tomorrow instead of doing anything today.

Oh my goodness! I knew I'd slacked off this week, but I didn't realize it had been A WHOLE WEEK! It's been a really crazy week and I just haven't been able to get out at all. So tomorrow I'm putting my shoes on and getting out. I'm going to repeat Week 2.

Well, we had an amazing time in Paris. I just wish we'd had MORE time - we'll just have to go back!

I braved the scales this morning and after a week away AND mine and dad's birthday party yesterday, I was up from 138.2 to 141.6!!

My parents gave me some money towards my new running shoes so this morning I went out and got myself analysed. The man at the shop was lovely - he watched me run and asked if I had done a lot of running when I was younger, and he seemed surprised when I said, um, no!! He said I ran like a sprinter - on the balls of my feet. Anyway, he said I needed a neutral she - I don't roll noticeably so I bought some Nike Air Pegasus 06 shoes on sale, down from £65 to £35 which I was VERY pleased by, as mum and dad had given me £30 so they only cost me £5.

It's a gorgeous day today so this afternoon I drop Ruby off at mum and dad's and I start the C25K all over again.

Robsia, when I got fitted for my running shoes, they asked me that too (minus the sprinting part, it was just do I always run on the balls of my feet). I've heard stories (ad nauseum) all my life about how I ran around on tippy toes as a toddler.

Anyway, running was hard this morning. Only a 1/4 mile in and I felt like walking the rest of the way. But I didn't! I did have to walk my knee out several times, but I ran 2.75 miles today (last two weeks I've done 2.5). Gonna be at 3K by Thanksgiving!

Great job Julie! And welcome back from Paris Robsia - I can't wait to travel there someday!!!!

Attempted week 6 day 3 on Saturday but couldn't make it. I usually run inside and I was outside on Saturday AND forgot my inhaller (sp?) so I didn't make it. I actually had not had that much of a problem with my lungs for a couple years now...so yeah....planned on trying it again yesterday but got home too late. Procrasticing right NOW to get downstairs and try it again.

Week 6 day 1 for me this morning -- it felt easy! Mondays always feel easier, probably because I had two days off instead of one.

About heel vs toe . . . I run heel-to-toe because I'd heard that is best for avoiding injuries especially when just starting out, but google searching basically says nobody knows what the best way to run is.

I am cursed!!

I am doomed not to run.

I did W1D1 again today and my calf HURTS!! it was fine until I got about 100 yds from my parents' on the way back, then it started to ache. I made sure to stretch it well, but it got worse.

Funnily enough, if I use it, it doesn't hurt as much, but when I rest it, it stiffens up and hurts more.

Hopefully it will only be a temporary thing.
