Sillybutt, I am in the same situation as you. It was pouring this morning so I didn't do my morning run, and it's still raining. I was planning to go this afternoon but if it's raining I won't. Last time this happened I just went Saturday instead, so that's my backup plan if it rains tonight!

I did manage to get out this evening before dinner, so that's w2d2 completed. Woo!

I was surprised by how well I was doing tonight, actually. The first three intervals seemed really easy. I was feeling all confident. Then the 4th and 5th intervals involved hills, and they kicked my booty. I thought I'd never get through the 6th one, but I was actually able to stride out a bit more and pick up the pace slightly. So it was all good!

Tomorrow is W5D1. I am kind of look forward to it. I will let you know how it goes. I am also doing C25K and Jillians 30 day shred at the same time. I start calling Jillian bad names but the second set of butt kicks. I am glad to see other peole doing both programs.

I have found two 5Ks in November that are two weeks apart - just in case I do decide to repeat any weeks.

If anybody is looking for 5Ks in their area check out active.com. You can even register for some online.

Keep up the good work everybody.

GOOD JOB SILLY BUTT!!!!! I always do my runs after my little girl goes to bed. I always argue with myself that something else needs to be done but I just force myself to get down to that basement and run!

Good luck Tinamae! I am going to run a 5K in the spring if I can find one in my area. So how are you finding doing the C25K and the 30 day shred? Can you take doing both? I asked on another thread but didn't really get any answers that I've seen yet.

So ladies....Week 5 Day 3 COMPLETE!!! PLUS SOME! I did it!!! 20 mins of non stop running. Didn't think it would be possible! I really think I'm getting the running thing. The first 5 to 8 mins REALLY sucked but then I don't know what happened, the rest was easier... Don't get me wrong, it sucked, but I did it! I started at 4.3MPH and by the time I was done had it up to 6MPH. It's crazy but I feel like running again today cuze I'm so damn proud of myself....But, I'm not going to! haha!

I still had a little "getting used to" to do at that point (and IIRC there are a couple days of intervals left), but ... once you are past the intervals and into just straight running, it does feel different. In a very nice way, even though, as you said, it's hard in it's own way.

Well, my heel is all better. I am taking advice from some runner friends and getting some decent running shoes, which my parents are giving me some money towards for my birthay which is next Tuesday.

We are going to Paris next week - for my birthday - so I am going to start W1D1 again when we come back. I am going to dump the baby on my mum and dad for 30 minutes 3x a week so I can go running unencumbered by the stroller.

Thanks. It's funny how ever since I started running, I actually feel like I'm winning this battle I've fought my entire life!

w2d3 completed this morning. I didn't complete one of the intervals - the 4th one, I think. I think I stopped 2/3 of the way through. I'd been going up a wee hill, and then I just ran out of steam.

I really think I do better when I go out in the late afternoons, before dinner. I did eat breakfast about half an hour before I went out this morning, but I just feel like afternoon outings are a bit easier for me. Plus, TOM arrived this morning, and that always zaps my energy for a couple of days. So maybe that's why I was struggling today.

I'm thinking about repeating the week. Maybe I'll try w3d1 on Tuesday and see how I do.

I did it! W5D1 - I can see why someone would repeat this week. I acutally did a 10 minute warm and 5 minute cool down at the end of the workout. I did my first running segment a little slower than whay I normally do. Each segment I increased the speed by .5 mph. It seemed to work. I finished strong.

I took dd to the zoo this am and did a brisk walk with her. (Wish me luck I am going to try to get her to do the shred with me later.)

Good morning everyone! It was raining all day Friday, so I didn't get to do my week 5 day 3 run until Saturday. I ran on a track for the first time, which was great since I got to estimate my speed! In any case, I completed my 20 minute run at a pace of about 12 min/mile, which is really good for me! I got through 1 2/3 miles in the 20 minutes.

Today was my week 5 day 1 #2 (I repeat each week). It was pretty easy, except for the fact that it was 37 degrees out with strong winds (weather.com says "feels like 30"), and my dog misbehaved a little.
