well, i did my test - 8 push-ups..which is ok....i havent' done any in awhile.
fat chick b gone, last year when i couldn't do any, i did wall pushes, then counter pushes, and they worked for me..and i kind of had a game going with myself, to do a few pushups, just enough that i had done some but wasn't pushing myself really really hard... on counters or ledges all over the place...so, i would do a couple off the kitchen counter, when i brushed my teeth i would do a couple off the bathroom sink, when i went to the bar, if there was no one else in the bathroom, i would do them off the wash sink there..ha ha...
i read that there is something to that, "greasing the groove," that doing a bunch fo them through out the day, even if it is just a couple more, all helps build the muscles and teach them.
and if you can do 5 girl pushups, then maybe try just one, plank one?
OMG!!!! I just got on the floor here in my office at work and tried to do ONE pushup that wasn't the "girlie" style. Yikes!!! I could not do one of those. I can do at least 8 pushups "girlie style" but not one GI Jane way. I am going to do the 100 pushup challenge. I don't know if it's too late to join this challenge on here but i am definatley going to try to go by the program. I so need upper strength and i would love to get some core strength so i can do them GI Jane way too!!! lol.
Just did Day 2 of "week 1".. As I said earlier, I will do week 1 again next week because I can't go down all the way yet.. But it went pretty well today.. Last one when I did my max, I did 6!!
I was expecting mad soreness again this morning, since I was so tremendously sore after Day 1, but nope, I feel good! Nothing hurts terribly this morning, so that makes me happy!
Hey all, just finished day one. It went fine. I'm a wee bit intimidate by how quickly the numbers seem to go up, but i also so that the rest time goes up. Looking forward to seeing how the next two sessions go.
Ok, I'm jumping in. I did the initial test and after laughing too hard to complete my first push up, I started over and did 3. I'd guessed I'd make it to five!
(DH, by the way, stopped at 20 though he said he could have kept going. I'd be mad that he kicked my butt so badly if I didn't love his shoulders so much!)
Okay I've sucked at the challenge this week and haven't kept up. I'm starting over with D1 today. I found that I can use the coffee table and go most of the way down so going to use that.
Have I mentioned how much I hate pushups??!!!
Whew. Week 1 Day 2 had me doing this: 12, 12, 10, 10, 10max. Since the first set I did were T-pushups the rest were a little tough. In between each set I did horizontal pullups. I'm not so sure that was a good idea. I feel so whipped by the time I've got the 12th one done I can' imagine being able to crank out 100 of these but lets just see where this goes.
