Weight up .2 lbs and according to Dr. Westman it is not a gain; so I need to remember that. I did stay OP eating exactly what I had planned to eat. I am drinking a Protein shake for breakfast and had a mandarin orange with it. Since eggs are so expensive right now and spring is coming up, I should use the Protein shake for breakfast. I also use Protein shake in my 3 c of coffee I drink throughout the day. Then whatever is left of the shake I use in my coffee, I finish off later so that I am getting plenty of protein each day. I put allulose in my 1st cup of coffee and in my second cup plus also add allulose to my Greek yogurt dessert at dinner. My FBG was 103 today. I don't eat anything after 4ish. So I guess basically things are starting to go in the right direction again.
We will have chipped beef today for dinner. We were going to the store tomorrow, but I notice SS is ready to process maybe tomorrow so we may go to the store tomorrow instead of Wednesday.
Carol Sue I think we are on our way to getting things right for us. I personally feel blessed that my organs are not damaged and that is a miracle in itself concerning the cancer meds I've had. I believe my eating as healthy as possible through the years has made this possible for me. So I need to continue doing what I've been doing.
Got to get busy with my exercises so I can get those done today.

Trish, the tenths we go up and down are not gains or losses, but just fluid fluctuations, so remember that the .2 down is also not a loss. This is why we are sometimes told to weigh weekly instead of daily. But since my weight syncs to the app, I like to have aa permanent record of my weight every day. I know not to care about the fluctuations. But I need to be getting more than fluctuations. I need to see some lower numbers and have them stick. I want to start seeing collar bones.
Weight is down .2 which is basically the same. FBG was 120 today so way too many carbs yesterday. I was going to drink a shake for breakfast but it doesn't seem to matter whether I drink or eat brunch so will keep having my bacon and eggs. I do like them. We are going to Walmart today and I will buy them from there and get regular which will probably be cheaper. I want to stop taking collagen and eggs have collagen so will keep them in my plan.
I read the other day of a woman who lost weight eating protein, veggies and fruit plus she ate dark chocolate and nuts. I think I could do that. I will stick to the 5/19 IF ratio window. Temps are going to be in the 70s for the rest of the week so I should be able to drink more water.

I forgot to post this morning. I slept good. Scale was up .2. Blood sugar was up also but imbtryingbtobconserve my G pills. The allulose is helping.
In the past I have lost very well eating protein and vegetables but I was never a fruit eater. But nuts have always been a snack, occasionally dark chocolate. My problem is, I know very well, how to lose weight quicjkly and keep it off. The tactics Ive used in the past, the distant past, not recent, worked well. Its only more recently that I tried to find the magic pill, but now I know I already have it. The only thing different is Im not using the information that I have. That ends today.
It was good to get out and walk around at Walmart. They didn't have a lot of choices on eggs today but I did get a dozen of white eggs. They were only a few cents less than what I paid for eggs the last time I got them at the local store. I picked up a package of frozen eggs and chicken breasts as well as a package of frozen no tail shrimp. Also got some stuff for salads but the romaine lettuce wasn't very pretty. Walmart never gets the pretty produce like the local store has.
We got our usual KFC order on the way home. I didn't have DH get any more protein shake. I am going to work at keeping my carbs low and eat the eggs for brunch. Even with the price of eggs, they are still cheaper than the protein drinks. I will use the Protein Shakes only on days I have infusions. I came home and ate the last of the junk food so I don't have anything to tempt me to keep me from staying OP.

Good sleep. Weight down .2 to 177.2. I have gone down .2 every day this week so far. Im down 1 lb since sunday so hopefully I will lose more than a lb this week. Blood sugar was 110. I'm very glad I started using allulose and I have you to thank,Trish. I have a reason for wanting to lose and improve my look at least by summer so I really need to get back to exercising, at least by the end of this week.
I. recently boughta 4 pk of protein shakes. The woman behind me at the check out had a big pack and I pretended I was buying them. Adding them to mynorder. If DH wasnt there I would have discussed them with her but DH doent like when I talk to strangers.
White large eggs at Walmart are $5.95/Dozen. Right now I have 5 1/2 dozen. Large eggs at our Walmart are very big. When I buy eggs at the local store they look so little. I have always bought large because they are best for baking and I used to bake every week. Now DH buys his baked goods. He has been buying donuts lately. Sometime he buys danish. I can resist these things. When he bought ice cream this week they were out of the ice cream we usually get so ge bought Bryers. I do not like it.. I prefer the cheap brand we usually buy.
I should not eat any ice cream.
DH is going to want to go to the casino today. I will not be able to say No since its been a while. I have so much reading material. I dont know what we will eat.
Carol Sue I paid $5.74 for the Large white eggs at Walmart. I like over easy eggs and I did notice that the Large White eggs from local store cooks that way easier than the brown eggs. I will probably continue buying the white eggs. It is worth getting the eggs from Walmart if I'm going there, but not worth making a special trip so far. However, I do plan to buy some things at Walmart so eggs are something I could stock up on to fit into those trips. Example, I am back to drinking Great Value's SF French Vanilla Creamer in my coffee instead of the Protein shakes.
I cheated and took one of DH G pills yesterday because I was not happy with the 120 FBG and today it was 92. However, I have to say that I would not want to take it all the time. Thus as of today, I am back on my low carb woe. Weight was up only 1 lb which is normal when I eat KFC. I have my food plans for success.
I've got chicken wings soaking in vinegar water to thaw and will cook them today. I want to keep my carbs down between 50 to 75 g. I really want to use the balance microws of protein higher than carbs
Hope if you go to casino that it will be a good day for y'all.
Hi friends: just dropping by. I am not online as much, except in one group on FB.
Between the lack of mobility before my knee replacement, and my recovery period, I gained a lot of weight las spring. It just would not come off, and while I could do 2MAD most of the time, it was difficult with needing to eat for the meds I was on. I could not fast, and it took 6 months to lose 6 pounds. My A1C was 6.4 and I just felt crummy.
Talked with my doc about adding another diabetes med and working on weight loss, and we agreed I would start on Ozempic.
I was 183 when I started, and am 157 now after 5 months. Weight loss is not fast, but it IS steady. I am thinking this is long term so I am in now hurry. I am now weighing about what I did when I lost the weight fasting. Biggest side effect is constipation, which I manage ok with Restoralax.
I am exercising quite a bit, and enjoy walking my dog again, we do 2 miles most mornings.(when it was -20 C for a bit we shortened the walks, as you can imagine). We have certainly had an extreme winter here, but Buddy enjoys the snow.
Muscle loss is a real risk with Oz, so I am doing some weight training as well as my yoga and aquafit and walking.
The knee replacement has been brilliant and I am in no pain there, and so far everything else is good. Just some arthritis in my hands, so I am doing well.
Blessings on you both, and happy (upcoming) spring. Its finally warming here, so I have hopes!

Hi Mad! Good to see you. I had seen you post in another thread that you are on Oz. Will you regain when you stop taking it? I almost started it but changed my mind.
Trish, I thought your DH took 4mg of G. Am I right or has it been decreased. 4 Mg is a high dose for a FBG of 220. Thats what I was taking when glucose got up to 200! Im doing ok supplementing the G with Allulose.
Sleep was poor. Weight is up .6 to 177.8 and blood glucose is very high. We dont share when its that high. I tossed and turned all night. I ate french fries on the. way home from the casino so I had food on my stomach, which always disturbs my sleep.
It juar dawned on me that I forgot to check in today. Weight was up 4 lbs which I think is fluid because that is the only thing that makes sense. FBG was 98 and BP 116/60. Doctor allowed me to switch to only Lasix and I really don't want to have to take 2. However, I did use a lot of salt on the wings so I figure the combo of more fat and added salt was probably the problem.
Fatmad It is always good to hear from you. I'm glad that your knee surgery went so well. My DS takes the Mojarno (I'm sure I didn't spell that right) even while on immunotherapy for cancer. I notice that ozempic can be taken orally now instead of injections. Which do you use? I haven't decided that I want to do any of those plus they are expensive and DH is on Eloquis and Farxiga which makes it difficult for us to have an added expense. Therefore I continue to just use diet and exercise.
Carol Sue I am not sure what strength G DH takes. I don't plan to take any more of them and I didn't even think about it. I probably should have cut it in half. As long as I can control my bs with diet and exercise, that is what I will do.
Sleep is really good these days. I'm not having to get up so much at night since I'm taking only one Lasix and I take it when I finish eating dinner and try to cut back on drinking at night early enough before going to bed. I sleep better without food on my stomack too.
I have lab tomorrow at 12:45. I'll try to remember to check in before we leave.
A quick flyby this morning. Weight down to 170.4 lbs, but a 6.4 gain for this month. I was very upset, but DH and I talked last night about the fact that I talked my oncologist into allowing me to cut back to one Lasix each day. So this could be the cause of the gain. At one time I was allowed to take 2 on alternate days so may find I have to take 2 occasionally. A lot of lowcarb and especially keto is high fat and I've never been able to do that. So may just have to be sure to get plenty of protein and enough carbs without going to high with the carbs. I need to read all the info I saved of Dr. Westman.
FBG 105 and bp up a bit so that tells me sodium is the problem.

My weight is up 1.2 lb. i dont know why. I still dont take any Lasix. I think the weight loss from Lasix is not true weight. I agree its nice to see, but dont take it and the weight goes back up. My friends, daughter used to weighbherself at night as she felt that was her true weight. I dont think im retaining fluid and need the Lasix but I dont know for sure until I talk to my doctor. When I went to the hospital a couple times they told me I was dehydrated. I dont know how that could be because Ive always been a big drinker, of water and diet coke. I dont know what test they do that tells them Im dehydrated. I also pee a lot and get potty issues and that can dehydrate me. After my heart valve procedure the doctor told me it should resolve my CHF somewhat and I have not had any breathing issues since. My oxygen level is always in the low to mid 90s. What mg do you take of Lasix? Mine is 40 mg once a day and before I stopped taking it I was cutting it in half and taking 20 mg. It raises my blood sugar so that may becwhy yours is up a bit.
DH wants to go to the casino again. They have a good fish dinner there that we split. He says he will only gamble a little bit of money. From now on we will choose one or the othrr. He says he doesnt like Friday because he does not get a machine he wants. But now its ok?
Carol Sue I take 20 mg Lasix each day. I don't want to take 2 a day because I don't want to take 40 mg Lasix. I just don't think it is healthy. I can understand why you cut yours in half with it being 40 mg each. I feel safe with 20 mg, but still would rather not take any. However, I know oncologist says there is fluid in a certain area in my abdomen he doesn't want. So I might have to at least take the 20 mg. Keto is a woe that involves eating more sodium so maybe I won't be able to follow a low carb/keto woe. It may be time to realize that I need to eat more of a low sodium plan instead.
I've never been interested in Dr. Gundry (not sure I spelled his name right), but I will listen to him as well and check him out. I've always been so low carb that I wouldn't even pay attention to anything else, but maybe that isn't wise.
Carol Sue I think your DH just can't help himself when it comes to going to the casino. Bless his heart, it is like me with some of the foods that I bring into the house that I can't have it here cause it calls my name. The only way I won't have a binge is that I just don't bring binge foods into the house. Enjoy your reading.
