DH went to the meat store and will buy some other things we need for the cabbage rolls. We will make them tomorrow. He helps me steam the cabbage. I can do it myself but he likes to feel that hes helping. Its not hard, but time consuming. it takes about an hour to steam the cabbage and roll them. Then 4+ hours to cook in the oven or electric roaster. The pressure cooker takes about 1 hour so I want to try a small batch in there.

I like all nuts. I like to put pecan pieces in my oatmeal.

Today Im reading about IF. I need to lengthen my fast, at least a couple days a week.

I finally got the results of my CT scan plus a test oncologist had done of the tissue from my surgery when they removed ovaries. I will know more when I see him, but just from what I read, it appears that things are really good.

I have a head of cabbage in the fridge that I need to cook before it ruins. It gets pushed behind lettuce and I forget it is there.

I am doing more of an IF window of about 16 to 17 hrs each day. I don't try to make my fasts longer anymore.

Happy Valentines Day to all! ❤💕💓💋
Good sleep, scale down a few tenths!

Cabbage rolls are in the oven. DH woke me up to tell me someone was texting me. He already had all the cabbage steamed. All I had to do was trim it and roll it. It went into the oven an hour earlier than usual,at 10AM. So we will be eating it at 2pm or so. The longer it cooks the better it is, but I consider it done at 4 hours.

I was reading an article about IF and it said there is a BG number at which we burn the most fat. Once we know that number we can fast to drop our blood glucose to that number for the best advantage, but i dont understand how we find out that number, its different for everyone. So I want to look into that further.

Happy Valentine's Day to all.

Carol Sue I didn't understand what you were saying about BG and fat. Can you explain more.

My oncologist appointment went very well. There aren't any tests going on for me to try but everything is stable and he and I both are very pleased with how well I am doing. I found it interesting that the hiatal hernia wasn't seen anymore. He explained that it can slip somehow and go back in place so that seems to be what happened. I was pleased to learn that everything in the upper part of my body is normal except that my gallbladder was a little extended but he said that it doesn't seem to be bothering me so we don't need to do anything about it. Everything in the abdomen is stable.

We talked about how my healthy eating through the years had protected me from cancer everywhere except the ovaries and they don't know why I had that as it was not genetic. I learned that is why my Primary had told me in the beginning that I didn't do anything to cause this. It turns out that there isn't anything else we need to do but just keep doing what we are doing.

We went to the store afterwards and I got a pork roast that I'm going to cook for tomorrow. I think it will last at least 2 or 3 days. We will have cabbage with it one day and sweet potatoes another day. Since I eat a snack at the end of my IF window, I picked up a bag of really good looking pre-cut fresh cauliflower, broccoli and carrots to eat with ranch dressing along with the protein shake I drink. It really tasted good tonight. I think it is important to add some veggies in my woe.

Weight this morning was the same as yesterday 166 lbs, but FBG and BP was up a bit from eating the lasagna yesterday. We had McDs CB and fries today. Then we crashed. Neither of us got enough sleep last night so DH went to bed and slept after dinner and I fell asleep during the hokey movie he watched when he got up. The one he is watching now isn't much better so I may sleep through it too.

DH tried the cabbage at 1 pm. The cabbage was soft and the meat was cooked but it wasnt the way we like it. So we let it continur to cook and it was very good. We gave some to step daughter and still have a lot left over for tomorrow.

I found more informationn about blood glucose and burning fat. It is beteeen 70-100. I think this should be fasting in the morning and before meals, and mainly overnight. I was also reading a very interesting article anbout the stages of fasting. I want to get back to a longer overnight fast.l

I hope all is well, Trish.

Still concerned about you, Trish!

Blood sugar is improved, as I take Allulose at bedtime. Scale is stuck at 178.4 I guess I cant expect a loss every day, but I dseem to get a bubp up every day.

We got snow overnight. Less than 2 inches. The mailman didnt stop at our house or the neighbors. They are not required to deliver mail if they have to get out of the truck. The street has not been plowed because its,Saturday. No school and most people dont go to work.

I went to bed around midnight because I didn't sleep much yesterday after we got home like DH did. I slept good although I got up 2 times during the night. I could have slept in if I hadn't planned on calling DD plus I wanted to get the roast started cooking. Then I heard my phone buzz because DS who never texts me on the weekend since I call him on Sunday, sent me a text and when I looked to see who it was, I woke up and got up. I was in slow motion this morning but finally got everything done. I really wish I could stop taking naps so I could get really good sleep at night.

Dinner is done whenever DH gets hungry. I ended up cooking baby carrots in with the roast and I cooked the small head of cabbage to go with it. So today I will have a serving of those plus my fruit/yogurt dessert. I found it easier to cook the meal so I feel like I'm slowly getting back to normal. It feels so good to be able to do a lot of things that I couldn't do for so long. I am able to walk around the house better without feeling like I'm going to fall. I also was able to cook my breakfast while getting roast on. I couldn't do that the last time I cooked one. Glad I can multi-task again. God is Good.

I decided to alternate eating eggs and oats since eggs are so expensive. DH got eggs at Sam's this time and they are all different sizes and more small. I can still get 2 dozen larger eggs at local store for less than what he paid for 18 eggs at Sam's. I haven't been to Walmart to see what they are there. I saw on the news today that a lot of people are raising their own chickens to have their eggs. I don't think we can do that in the city or I might would do that too.

We are having a warmer day today and then we are supposed to have a cold front come through again. This will be like this until after Easter and I am ready this year for spring.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Theres no way I want to be having chickens in my yard. We are allowed but you have tobhave more property and you have to pay a fee to be allowed. I will buy my eggs. Large are close to $5/dozen at our Walmart. $8-9 at the local store . They had a lot. Looks like no one is buying them. During the pandemic Dollar General had them cheaper than anyone, but we havent checked there.

Funny,, but I wish I could take naps like I did before my heart procedure .I didnt plan it but just fell asleep. Although now I sleep better at night but from all the supplements I take. I take Pepcid, Magnesium, Colace, Nac, Tylenol, HA, and Benadryl. The Pepcid is for gerd, the magnesium is for sleep and leg cramps, Colace is for constipation,Nac is for my cough, Tylenol and Benedryl are for sleep ans HA is for knee pain. I sleep for about 5 hours then get up for the bathroom. Then fall back to sleep til 9 or 10. Before I could never go back to sleep, but the nap I took made up for it. I dont know what would happen if I did not take the Tylenol and Benedryl. The other things I could take through the day but they are kept in the bedroom so its convenient.

Or Im just a pill popper.

DH is finnally finished with the bathroom sink, but now the kitchen sink is leaking. The house is close to 50 years old and everything is wearing out. Its getting old like us. We need a plumber.

Scale stayed the same today 166.4 lbs. FBG 103 and bp around 115/69. So this is good. I drink Camomile tea before I went to bed and I slept so good although I did get up 3 times during the night. I've got DH brownies in the oven and we will have pork roast for dinner today. I have to say that I am feeling really good today.

I had 2 egg and bacon taquito for breakfast. The tortilla's I got this time is a plant protein tortilla. I know that is a thing they are pushing for us to eat but I'm not sure if it is safe or not. It has 14 g of fiber in it.

Carol Sue I do like my eggs and I will continue to buy them. I've always liked the brown eggs. I know they say an egg is an egg and color doesn't matter but when we lived on the farm we were told brown was better. However, DH got me some jumbo white eggs and it may sound crazy but I notice they cook better than the brown. So I just might switch to the white eggs.

Hope everybody has a good day.

I read that brown eggs are nutritionally the same as white but from a different type of chicken. There is a sign "Brown egg for sale"" nearby but I've never tried them. I would like to try eggs from a farmer but DH would not eat them because they are not checked. As it is, he removes that white membrane from them before cooking them. He puts them thru a strainer. Strange. We have a friend who sells eggs when they have extra and our dog groomer sells eggs for a donation.

Now we cant use the kithen sink. Son in law came over to help but somerhing broke and I think they need a part. This is not a good time to have no money. We cant eat out because of no money and cant cook with no sink to clean up. Im on a forced diet!😀😁🌝

Son in lawsfriend is comingvtoday to look at our sink. He needs to see what he needs to fix it but I dont know when he can fix it. I dont know if he works as a plumber or just knows how to do it.

Im comfised about the scale. I thought I was 178.4 two days in a row. Today was 176.4 . When I looked at the app it sais yesterday was 177.4 and Saturday was 178.4. The app cant lie. It registers what you weigh while standing on the scalve. I wouuld be so HAPPY if the Allulose was doing this! Does your husband use the Allulose too? It is helping with blood sugar but not a lot. Just making it look better, but not non-diabetic range.

I wonder if DH is going to cook breakfast? I want it, but we cant wash the pots and pans. We have disposable plates we can use. Yesterday he washed everything in the laundry tub downstairs. Its hard carrying them up the stairs. What a life! I guess we are going to have to pay the guy who is coming. The only way I have to pay him is from the HELOC. Or I can ask the casino to give us our money back.😅 I wonder if DH is learning a lesson from this!😅. I remember this from childhood. We used to search the house for coins, enough to buy a loaf of bread. 20¢ back then.

By the way, did you get any double yolks from the jumbo eggs? I bought that one dozen of jumbo and DH got 2 double yolks so far. Twins!

Carol Sue I hope you get your sink fixed. I have actually washed dishes in the bathtub before. I was so young back then and not sure I could do that now.

I got the double yolks in the brown jumbo eggs, but not in the white. DH got my eggs at Sam's last time he went and never again. Those eggs are so small that it would takes 2 eggs to make one. For the price he paid, it didn't save anymore. I used 2 to make a French toast this morning with my bacon. We will have the rest of the pork roast today. I will probably eat mine with a salad. I need a break from the cabbage and carrots.

My weight stayed the same. FBG was 117 everything else is fine. I'm holding my own and maybe I will be able to get back on low carb for a while when the weather warms up. We are having lows in the 30s for a few days this week which makes me glad we got everything done last week.

I better get my exercises done. Hope you get your sink fixed today.

The guy was only coming to look, to see what he needed. Today his wife was hurt in an accident and is in the hospital, so he didnt come. No cooking today. I ate 2 sandwiches and 2 donuts. I dont know what DH ate. I wanted my eggs and mushrooms but did not get them😢.

We went to Walmart for a few things. We went to Goodwill and I got a Robot vacuum. We had one before that we got at Goodwill but DH sold it at our yard sale. I mainly want it to clean under the bed. First I have to try it to see if it works. If not I can return it for a refund. But I think I have to take something else in its place. I just hope it works.

DH was in Dollar General today . I told him to look at the eggs. They are $6+ so more than Walmart. I have 45 dozen and don't need more. Ha ha ha! No,I dont have 45 dozen. I have 4.5, (4 1/2) dozen! I would not have room for 45 dozen!
