I had a 18.5 hour overnight fast and I've had a 5 hour eating window. MFP says I'm at 900+ calories but I'm probably over that. I don't feel hungry. MFP gave me 200 extra calories for exercise but it was cleaning, which can be considered exercise. I deep cleaned the bathroom which always makes me happy. It looks so nice and sparkling clean. And I partially cleaned the living room. I want to do the dining room and kitchen tomorrow unless DH has other plans for me. Bedroom is last.

Carol Sue I'm sorry your step-son is upset with y'all for not going to your step-daughters for Thanksgiving. I'm starting to really feel bad about not doing anything about it myself. I'm the oldest and probably should especially since this is the first year since Daddy passed away that my sisters and I are going to all be in town. DS usually goes to her daughters 200 miles away for the weekend, but her DH grandparents are getting old and I think she is the one who has been fighting cancer so they decided that instead of staying home and DS and BIL going there, they felt they needed to be with them this year. But DS has ordered their meal from QVC and BS and her Hubby don't want to cook and I don't either. It is terrible that lockdown left us just not wanting to cook big meals any more. I hope things will settle down for y'all.

I did a 4 hr eating window today. My fasts are easier when we go shopping cause there isn't any food to grab and eat. Had more calories today around 1400. Hoping for a good nights sleep since I have to get up early.

Scale is up a pound today. I ate a bit beyond my fasting window when not hungry, and no bowel movement for 2 days. That's my reason. Also I did not get needed sleep. I think DH had the heat too high.

Trish, I have spent 75 years doing what someone else wants me to do. Now I want to do what I want to do. If step son's in-laws did not go out of town we would never see them on any holiday. DIL always wants to be with her parents. I am fine with that. There are 365 days in every year. We can see each other any other day. I am getting cantankerous in my old age. I'm just going to do what I want to do and they will just have to get over it.

I am content with what I'm doing for my diet and health. The eating/fasting window works for me when I stick to it. Some days are not as good as others. So be it. I am trying my best, but I don't want to beat myself up every time the scale goes in the wrong direction.

DH has some things written down for a shopping list. I would rather wait til we go out later for dinner but I do what he wants.

Hi gang, just over 155 this am after my fast yesterday, so continuing the downward trend. Even better, my waist is measuring 35 inches this am, so I am getting that down too.
Blood sugars have been just over or under 100 (to you) so that is going well too.
I made chicken pot pies for supper on Wednesday when DD was here, and will have my leftovers for that. I used mashed cauliflower for the topping instead of a crust, and it works well.
Perhaps for brunch I will have eggs. Have a good day.

Well, this day has turned out different than planned and I am posting a little later than I like. I got up early enough since this was beauty shop day. Weight was up as expected for 2 reasons. One I got up earlier plus we had takeout of McCB and I ate a small bag of potatoe chips instead of half order for fried. Weight up 1.4 lbs to 179.4 so I am satisfied with that especially since it was nice to see I was still just under 180.

DS Hubby is working today and she doesn't feel very well, so when I called DBS we decided not going out to eat. My beautician's Hubby is home every other week, so they are having their Thanksgiving this weekend since he is home and will be at work next week. So as far as I know we are not planning to go any where until I go to beauty shop next Friday.

I found some beautiful calf liver slices at the local store that had 4 of them individually wrapped. I hope they keep carrying these. This the store that has the pharmacy we may move our meds to. Any way I've been hungry for liver and onions so I that is what I co.oking for us to eat today.

Carol Sue I also like the way I'm eating too. While I do try to tweat as needed, I no longer beat myself up when my weight fluctuates. I am counting calories as accurately as you can using MFP and some days are better than others which I figures is really normal. I still strive to eat as healthy as possible and try to enjoy what I do at the same time.

I feel the same way you do about gatherings. I have lived my life trying to please so many other people. I don't know if I enjoyed much of it or not because I just did what was expected of me. I don't want to do that any more. DH DGS who lived with us in SC has already called us for the holiday. He and his girlfriend are going to his Moms in FL. My one son will call me and my DD will call or text Thanksgiving day and all the kids and step ones live in other cities or states. Everybody is doing their own thing and DH and I will too. Besides, at our age we have learned to be thankful people everyday. We don't need one Thanksgiving day to remind us to be.

Fatmad Congradulations on the 35 waist. I never think of that. I haven't measured in a long time. My Daddy's people had big stomachs and I have that too. I have pictures of me as a teenager when my waist was 16 to 20 inches for years and once I gained weight when I was pregnant, I've never scene a small waist. So I don't know if I will ever see a low one again. I think if I could/would do extreme low carn, I might but just not an Atkins low carber any more.

Trish, you are 9 lbs lower than I am! It was not long ago that we were the same weight. Good for you. You are doing things right and deserve to see the losses. Mad too!

I hope you enjoy your calf liver. That's the only kind I like. One time they were out of it so I bought beef. I fed it to the dog. He liked it, not me.

DH took my debit card to the bank to get money. I don't know what he did, but the machine confiscated my card, so I will have to deal with that on Monday. Its always something!

Carol Sue A week ago when we went to Sam's, DH had to use his debit card twice to get it to work same at Walmart but it worked. Last week when I went to the local store I had to write a check because my card didn't work. Come to find out the stores computers at the local store had been having trouble running the debit cards through all morning. It made me wonder if something was going on with them since it happened with DH at Sam's and Walmart before I had trouble at the local store. Yesterday he used his card at Sam's twice and I used mine at a different local store same chain but no problems. I wonder if maybe it is just the holiday shopping over loading the computers.

I did enjoy the calf liver. I've had to buy pork or beef in the past but if I remember correctly DH#2's grandmother always told me the calf liver is best. It is good and not as overpowering as the beef and pork. We love it with loads of onions and it was very good even my gravy which I always have a hard time making from scratch turned out perfect not to thick or too thin.

I've done a 4 hr eating window today and pushed to get 1088 calories. Net carbs are 95 so even within the new Atkins diet that says keep net carbs around 100 grams. I am trying to eat high fat any more either. I try to keep them around 70 ish and it was 69 this morning. However, I don't work to push any of that. Just keeping my calories in check. I've slept a lot after dinner and not quite sure why unless it is the fact that I got up so early. Hope I can sleep tonight.

I did not weigh today. I did not have an eating window yesterday. Well I did, but it was 11 hours long! I feel like I'm getting a cold so I'm craving carbs. I ate mashed potatoes last night, the ultimate comfort food. I have a runny nose and I'm sneezing and coughing, watery eyes. No fever, no headache, no sore throat. If I get worse I will get tested. I will take my Zyrtec, Vit C and Zync, and drink hot tea. This morning I ate pancakes with an egg on top. Didn't sleep good. I think its just a head cold due to the extreme change in the weather. I might gain, but right now I want to shake this.

DH wants me to go to the bank today. I guess I will just to shut him up. They won't be able to do anything today. I don't think they check the machine on weekends. Maybe I will call them.

You keep up the good work Trish! I am so proud of you. Its a miracle ok Zyrtec and feel better. after how you struggled for so long. :hug:

I took Zyrtec and feel better. Still watery eyes. I've had 1200 cals in 5 hours but over 100 carbs. That's ok. Makes me feel better.

My new coffee maker just came. It is the first order that was supposed to come Nov 11. I don't know why it took so long and neither does Target. They cancelled the order and sent another one that is coming next week. They said if the first one shows up don't return it but I don't feel right keeping them both. We'll see if the second one comes.

Carol Sue This crazy weather is playing havoc with my allergies. It is sooo cold a few days and almost down to freezing at night and then we will have days of warmer weather. I guess we are being eased into the winter weather but I would just as soon it be one or the other. But I guess it is better than those 3 digit numbers we had for a while.

My weight is up a bit to 180.4. FBG was 101. I really should do more of a low carbish woe but I do like some of my carbs I don't want to give up. So I guess I don't want it bad enough to do it. Today I am cooking shrimp scampi. I had brunch at 11ish trying to switch back to eating low carb breakfast to see how that works. I got my caffiene green tea and drank it yesterday evening and this morning and so far so good. So I guess the decaf was causing my potty issues. I am going to try the almond milk to only because it is lower calorie/carb and I don't want to waste it.

I guess we will be going to Walmart sometime soon because DH got home and decided he wants strawberries after all. In the store he said he was tired of them so didn't get any. We will go to Walmart some time to get the strawberries and also get more of our SF creamer that we get from Walmart. In fact, I may just sit in the car and let him go in. The traffic was so bad coming home from shopping Thursday that it makes me not want to go shopping at all because I know if that is any indication of things to come, it is going to be a nightmare between now and Christmas. The economy and covid isn't slowing anything down here.

Speaking of covid, I don't think we are going to get the booster yet. I've been reading a lot of things coming out from CDC etc and there is so much contradictions and with some of the stuff in it, I am wondering if my tiredness is coming from that. DS got the booster and I don't know what is going on with her but she just doesn't feel good most of the time. DH is on blood thinners and there is a warning in the paperwork concerning it causing blood clots etc. I also read that it can lower your immune system. So I think we have decided to wait and see what the doc says when we see him in February. Maybe they will know more and be more in agreement on somethings we are questioning.

I'm glad you felt better after taking the Zyrtec. In fact, when I read you took it, I had a headache and had a runny nose too so I took one and everything is back to normal. Glad you mentioned it. I have a bottle sitting on the bar and half the time I still forget that I need to take it when I feel that way.

Hopeing everybody has a nice day and can stay warm and healthy.

Trish, when I was in Wal-Mart I talked to a pharmacist about my allergies and I told her I take Zyrtec and also use,Flonase and I wanted to know if it was safe to use them together. She said it is safe, but I shouldn't have to use the Flonase if I take Zyrtec. We figured out that Zyrtec should be taken every day to let it build up in your system and I only take it when I need it . Thing is, I never think to take it unless I have symptoms.

My step son also takes blood thinners and he said he is not afraid of blood clots from the vaccine or boosters because the blood thinners should protect him. Probably best to talk to the doctor.

I feel ok now but I am cold. Checked my temperature and it is normal.

Carol Sue I'm glad you are feeling better. I am feeling better to. That is good to know about the Zyrtec. I started taking it because my doctor recommended it to me and I keep it on handit works. I didn't know about taking it everyday to get it built up in my system. However, I only take it as needed because I don't seem to need it all that often.

This has not been my best eating day. In fact it has been one of my worst. Obviously eating low carb just doesn't do it for me. So I will just continue the semi-WWSF plan. This has been another evening when I slept most of it. Not sure why. Sure hope it doesn't become a habit.

I didn't make the shrimp. We ended up having chili dogs so I wouldn't have to cook. I just wasn't up to cooking today. I quit tracking so don't know what or how much I ate. I will just have to hope for a better day tomorrow.

Scale is up another lb. I believe this is because I was eating for comfort while I didnt feel good. Too much and too many carbs. I'm ok with that. Now I'm craving steak again and feeling back to normal.

I have to start defrosting my turkey but its in the downstairs freezer. Too heavy for me to carry up the stairs. DH didn't get up yet. I better check on him.

DHs brother wants our old coffee maker. He says his doesn't make the coffee hot enough but how does he know how hot ours makes. DH says our is very hot but to me its just normal. I like it very hot. DH can drink it warm. He puts so much milk in it its never hot. So we will not have a spare like we planned, unless the second one comes. I think I am only being charged for 1.

Trish, I don't think you eat too many carbs. It is different for each of us. The carbs you eat are healthy carbs. The ones we need to eliminate are junk food carbs.

BBL. I'm going to check on DH.

He's up now. He brought up the turkey.

I got 7.5 hours sleep last night. Finally. For a few days I was sleeping a few hours at a time through the day and night. This was probably all connected to not feeling well.

Trish, I forgot to tell you. When I was cleaning I came across a copy of the Keto Friendly South Beach Diet. I don't know where it came from but maybe I bought it back when you were talking about it. Cleaning is wonderful. I find many things I didnt know I had.:lol: I'm going to read through it and see what it has to say. I never like to follow a plan, but I like getting ideas.

MFP gave me 108 extra calories for exercise today! That exercise was up and down the cellar steps several times doing laundry then changing the bed. Changing the bed takes a lot out of me from manipulating the mattress for the fitted sheets. Most of the time DH helps me but today he was on the phone so I did it myself, to prove that I could. I have a lot of energy today. I don't know why. I started taking the Magnesium this week. Online it says it may take a good while to start noticing the effects. I don't really know what effects to watch for. If I don't think its helping I will stop taking it. I don't know if my levels are low or not.

My weight is up today to 181.8 which was no surprise. Enough said. Funny thing is that my FBG was 93. Now explain that one. LOL

I got up this morning hungry for chicken wings and decided to air-fry a few for brunch. That and a stick of celery and a huge red radish with collagen coffee was what I ate. It was very good. At least I started the day out to at least be a lower carb day. I am planning codfish for dinner today. Now I will just see how it goes. I really do want to at least stay within a 5 to 8 hr eating window so that is the goal this week whether with 2 or 3 meals or 2 meals and a snack. Maybe yesterday was just my body's way of reaction to going low carb. I will try this again today and see how it goes.

Glad you have your turkey and getting it thawed out. Since we are going to have to go to the store in a day or two, I've decided ham would be good and it is different from eating chicken and fish all the time. This has made me stop and think one thing I need to change in my plan eat more dark chicken because I'm tired of chicken breast and tenders all the time. If I swithch to a lower carb woe, I can do that and not mess up my diet. So I will try this and see how it goes.

Your DH sounds just like mine. He puts so much creamer in his and he warms his coffee. I am the opposite, I want a hot cup of coffee.

HI everyone: well I blew it yesterday and started eating. I managed to curtail after a bit. I decided to just accept it happened, move on. I am human. Today is supposed to be an eating day because we are going to friends' tonight for supper so I had a normal healthy lunch. I will start my fasting again tomorrow and will wait until Tuesday am to weigh again.
I hope you all give yourselves a break and remember you are not obligated to host, or to attend anything just because there is a holiday. Do what is right for you.
I love hosting, but on my terms and when I want to. When I was working more I only did it if I was off call. Occasionally DH would host then, and I would have both DD help him with cooking in case I was not around, and that worked out. We always had the biggest house so sometimes it was best that way.

Re the Carbnaut bread: it uses resistant starch to lower the carbs. With the gluten free version, that is mostly tapioca starch. It is cooked then cooled. Potato starch and rice starch can work similarly.
I think they did that with wheat starch with dreamwork pasta. for me that made the carbs burn slower, but they were still there and I spiked. I do not seem to have a bs spike with this bread. I go up a bit like normal with my meal, but not over 7.0 mol (172 to you) which is fine after meals.

My new prescription from the doctor upped my trazodone to help me sleep and I have slept well since Wednesday when I started that. 4 good nights in a row feels pretty darn good right now.

Mad, sorry to hear you had a bad eating day but you will get back on track. It has happened to all of us.

​​​​​​We went out to Bed Bath and Beyond. Its in a nearby town that we rarely go to now because it has become a higher crime area. I wanted some pop up turkey timers and they were the only place I could find them. They no longer put them in turkeys because they are not 100% reliable but I like to have it as a guide. I want step daughter to have one since this is her first time cooking a turkey.

Then we went to the grocery store and got some ground beef and came home and made hamburgrrs. I also got the rest of the ingredients for pumpkin pies that I will make on Wednesday.

I am now up to 307 extra calories from exercise. This has never happened before that I've noticed. Probably from finishing the laundry when I got home. I have one or two more loads to do tomorrow.
