Fatmad Sounds like a lot of fun celebrations for your birthday month. It is nice that you have GF restaurants to go to. I'm not sure we have any of those here.

DH had to get the samples for his Farxiga because we didn't know that there were samples of both Farxiga and Eloquist at the front desk at doctor's office. I left what he got last week in the car n I learnand didn't take it out till Saturday when I did our pills when I saw they were Eloquist instead of the Farxiga I asked for. When I wrote the nurse about it, she had checked and the Farxiga was still there. That is when I learned that she had left both at the front desk. They are still wearing masks at the doctor's office. DH said receptionist offered him a mask but he was just getting samples so wasn't staying.

I told him today that I want to go ahead and make an appointment to get our booster and just get it over with. DS is doing great after hers with no problems. The way DH explained viruses and how the vaccines work with a virus I see it as no different than a flu shot. Not to be political, but I don't like the mandates because I don't think they are constitutional plus there are people who cannot get one for some reason or other even medical. However, I have no problem taking it myself.

Not sure if I will eat the second meal or not. We had CB from McDs and I am not hungry. If I eat my oatmeal as planned I still will end with barely over 1000 calories and a net carb count of 90. If not cals will be almost 800. The interesting thing about the CB. Since I didn't eat breakfast before going to the store, I was dagging when we headed home. So I decided that I would just eat a whole regular double CB on the bun it came with, but when I got home, I my regular diet routine clicked in and I threw out the bun and made my healthy CB on MGSL bread. Thank God, I've made some good healthy eating habits that have taken hold. At the same time, I don't think I have to eat to follow any particular rules so if I am hungry within the 5 hrs as I have planned with my IF window, I will eat but I won't feel that I have to.

Mad, our lab does appointments plus walk ins. I just never had a problem going after 9 am. Maybe something to do with the first of the month. I came home and made an appointment for tomorrow at 9:20. I'm not sure how that will work because there still could be walk ins waiting in the waiting room. I do not want to be in a room with a lot of other people. Also, I don't know if walk ins that arrive before me will get first priority. I've never had this happen. Could people be there for Covid testing? I don't know. I maybe should have made my appointment for later in the day. My doctors office does not have a waiting room. You are never sitting with other people. When you arrive you go right to an exam room. I like that.

Trish, you are doing great and your habits are becoming a lifestyle. :carrot: That's how we want to do it!

I read someone on Twitter say the pandemic is over in Texas. Most employees here are wearing masks, but I think they are optional. I was at the doctors in April and all were masked and patients were required to wear them. I will see on Friday if they are still wearing them. I wear mine everywhere. That is how I feel comfortable. Less than 50% of people wear them.

Oh Carol thats great. The way it works at our lab, with a walk-in, they get any "empty" appointment spaces. I think they keep 1-2 per hour for walk-ins. If there are none for over 1-2 hours, they send them home, and make an appointment for them if needed. I get the opportunity to make an appointment at any of the labs in town, I can choose by lab or soonest appointment or whatever I want. I have been choosing a particular lab because the techs are all good. Its a small one in a very small medical centre, so that works well for me.

Trish: with you at risk its not a bad idea to get your booster. I don't think I really need one yet, since I got my 2nd shot just in May, I think I will wait until the new year at least unless the information changes. I have had no problems with my flu shot, no has DH, so we are doing fine for now. He is now 65 so he can decide about getting the shingles vaccine in the next while.

Weight stayed the same today. I'm craving my coffee that I can't have and my stomach is growling. Very hungry! Isn't that funny? I rarely eat before 10 am but I'm starving because I know I can't eat. I think the coffee usually holds me over.

I'm glad that's over with. When I got there, I found out that they are now "appointment only.". So its a good thing I made an appointment.

I was so hungry when I got home and still have a headache. Yesterday wasn't this bad. I ate eggs and toast and now I want a nap.

At our doctor's office they give us an appointment time either for morning or afternoon. I always make mine for morning and DH makes his in the afternoon. However, I assume an appointment only means they will know about how many are coming in the morning and how many they will have that afternoon because I don't have to go at 9 am and DH doesn't have to go at 1:30 pm. I can go anytime between 8:30 and noon and he can go anytime between 1:30 and closing. It makes it nice and we don't usually have a very long wait. The girls who do the blood work are extremely good at their job at getting us in and out. I don't know where they found these people but the really nice thing is that I never feel the needle or bruise.

Carol Sue I am glad you got your blood work done and hope you get good report. When is your doctor's appt.?

I was hungry this morning and thought about having my oatmeal this morning, but once I drink my coffee, I am good to go. I really did good having the oatmeal for supper rather than breakfast and want to do it again today so I haven't eat. Again I will barely have 1000 calories. In fact, I had to stretch it to get it. Carbs will be a little high today but it should be okay.

Weight this morning was back down to 184.2 so thankful for that. Really need to stick with the 2MAD if I can. Hopefully it can become a lifestyle again for me. Fried tilapia is on the menu for today and corn-on-the-cob DH picked out at the store and of course our salad. It is a good thing he likes salad and insists on having it because I'm not sure I would eat it otherwise. He told me yesterday that he thinks he is lactose intolerant because potty issues has stopped. Mine has pretty much resolved to so I guess it is good that we are doing the almond milk.

Trish, our doctors office does not do our blood work. At my appointment on Friday he will give me a script for blood work for next time, in 6 months. I can go to any lab I want a few days before my appointment and he will have the results by the appointment. The lab I go to is Quest. I can also go to LabCorp or the lab associated with the hospital. If I go to the one associated with the hospital I have to pay a copay.

I know my results will not be good. I I've had too many blood sugar spikes.

This has been a terrible day. I didn't get enough sleep. I got a headache from no coffee. When I got home I was famished! I ate so much! Then I felt really tired but could not fall asleep. I will probably go to bed early. Oh, and after I ate I had potty issues all afternoon. Tomorrow HAS to be better.

Trish, coffee makes a big difference in my morning hunger, too. I've cut back to 2 cups, though as it raises my blood sugar. I even tried drinking hot water this morning but that might have made it worse.

I'm glad you are back to 184. I think oatmeal in the evening is good. Even though its carbs, I think the fiber really makes a difference. DH has eaten cereal before bed as long as I've known him. He has it with warm milk. He switches around from Wheaties, to oatmeal to cream of wheat. Occasionally Post Raisin Bran. Of course, he can't go more than 2-3 hours without eating. We are so different when it comes to dietary habits.

I hope I can get back on track tomorrow.

I got a good nights sleep! I'm enjoying my coffee now at 8:20 and feel pretty good. Not the least bit hungry.

The scale is up .4, back to 189.2 but I'll get it back down.

I heard some election day results that put me in a good mood.

I just tracked my food from yesterday. I had 2071 cals. and 243 carbs. Yikes!

I normally don't have more than 100 carbs per day. Yesterday was the way I ate during my 80 lb gaining period. I could not go back to that again because I was very uncomfortable. I am more used to the way I eat now. I'm surprised I only went up .4 but the potty issues probably helped. I might go up more tomorrow. I need to be prepared for that and understand why.

Carol Sue My weight is up .4 lb today as well. Mine is due to high sodium. I didn't want oatmeal last night so I ate a bowl of chicken noodle soup. So I am sure that was the culprit. I am now stuck at 184 range so maybe this is normal when you just eat fairly normal and lose slower. I hope so. I don't mind as long as the scale continues to move down.

It is really cold here today in the hi 40 to low 50s wich is very cold when we were in the 80s. Was cold today and will be cold tomorrow and then it goes back up until our next cold front comes down. We had chili today and I plan to make a beef stew tomorrow. Since DH doesn't like chunks of beef, I am going to make what DH#2 and I used to call hobo stew. I will cook lean ground beef and chop it into almost fine pieces and then add my veggies to it.

I had oatmeal for breakfast around 11:30 and then the chili around 3:30 and my calories were a1039 and due to too many crackers etc net carbs were 117 g. Of course that is going by MFP. I thought about the salad and chili and crackers etc and realized that if I was counting Pts for simply filling, my points would be really good for today because so much of the foods I ate today are 0 pts. I have calorie room for a snack of air popped popcorn which would be 0 pts on WWSF, but at this moment I plan not to eat anything else today. In fact, I am trying to eat more mindfully and leave a bite of food on my plate/bowl and ended up throwing away a few bites of the chili and should have stopped sooner because I was feeling stuffed before I realized that I needed to just ditch what was left. I don't like feeling stuffed. So I will start watching that more in the future.

Well, my weight has gradually gone up in the past 9 days. A few tenths of a pound every day. I have to stop that.

I had a good nights sleep last night. That's important because today is casino day. I don't want to be dragging. Lots of walking. Also, tomorrow morning is my appointment with my PCP but luckily its not until 10:45. I saw my lab results on the website and some of them are not good. I need to make some changes for my health. The past 6 months have not been good..

I have not actually gained weight in the past 6 months. I was 194 at my apointment in April. Still, my lab numbers have really suffered from poor eating and lack of exercise. So, its not all about the number on the scale.

I'm 159 today after fasting yesterday, as my birthday supper out was pretty high calorie and not low carb, since I had a glass of wine and a baked potato. The bacon wrapped filet mignon was delicious too, as was the wedge salad. Creme brûlée for dessert. So about 3000 calories. Not sure how I will do on Saturday with the kids taking us out for supper, I will likely splurge again. SO today will be "normal" and low carb.

I am thinking about Penn Gillette's book (yes the magician) that is about his weight loss journey. He was working on a theory about cold stress helping to lose weight. If so, my morning walks will help. We have had little bits of snow since Tuesday which usually melts away over the course of the day, only to have another dusting by morning. The temperatures are hovering around freezing most of the day and just going up a few degrees. So I hope the "cold stress" will help me get rid of a few more pounds before the holidays. After Saturday I don't have a lot of plans where I will be tempted to overeat, so I will just plan normal meals and hope to get back into weight loss life after that.

Hope you both hang on to the losses and get a couple of more pounds down before Thanksgiving holidays come to and add a couple back!

Carol Sue Glad you had a good nights sleep before going to the casino. Hope you will have a good day. Sorry for the gain and the lab showing you need to work at things better. I am sure mine would say the same about now as well. We will do it.

Fatmad Glad you are enjoying your BD month and IF will help you keep things within range so you don't go too far out of whack.

Last night after eating the high sodium chili my legs were so tight that I decided to take one of DH Lasix. The amazing thing is that I don't think I have neuropathy. I've never had all the symptoms and at my last appointment, the doc didn't think so either. This morning, my legs feel almost normal. Still some tightness but not near what I've been experiencing the last few months. So I'm thinking that I am retaining fluid and if I can get that under control, those feelings will go away completely. So I emailed the doctor this morning for a perscription for Lasix or some mild form of fluid pill to be used as needed because I don't want to take it on a regular basis everyday. I hope he will do it without me going in as we have talked about this before. Otherwise, I told him I would wait until I see him in February.

This morning weight was down to 182.6 which is water loss but it is a loss and I will take it. Tomorrow I won't weigh because I get up so early on Friday to go to the beauty shop and Saturday is regular WI day for me. I'm getting a perm and getting my layer cut and curls back. As much as I love the lazy keeping haircut I have now, it makes me feel old and sloppy. So going back to the old cut.

I found out my trigger last night. My sugar free gum. I had oatmeal for breakfast and chili for dinner and was perfectly fine with just the 2 meals until last night when I chewed the gum I usually chew to keep me from being hungry and I was so hungry that I ended up eating nuts outside my eating window. Lesson learned no more gum. Back to my 2MAD today. I had oatmeal breakfast and will have a WWSF homemade beef stew for dinner. The only pts if I were counting them today will be iin the meat and the crackers I will eat with the stew.

Had a 7 hr eating window today and ate 2 meals and popcorn for an evening snack. Calories were barely over 1000 and less than 1010. I've been looking at the Mediteranean diet plan. I didn't know there was a Low Carb Mediteranean diet. I ama going to check into it and see how it works. However, I realize that the WWSF is pretty much Mediteranean and I'm enjoying that right now. Any way I have had a good eating day today.

We had a good day at the casino. I read until the battery went dead in my Kindle, then I went out and sat with DH while he played the slot machine. He did well!

​​​​​​Trish I hope you are able to get a fluid pill for your legs. My one blood pressure pill has a diuretic in it. I get some occasional puffiness in my ankles. That's great that you are,down to 182. Good job!

I'm going to bed early since I have the doctor appointment in the morning.

I didn't sleep well. I think I had restless leg and cramps in my foot. I ordered some magnesium this morning. I'm afraid to see the scale number. Just need coffee and get ready for doctors appointment.

Happy to report still 159 after my eating yesterday. Did not think that would happen, I felt like I overate and felt "fat" today, but its nice.
I am weighing in after eating days this week because of all the birthday food and want to keep myself accountable. Its another fasting day today. Tomorrow the kids take me out.

I am excited because we pick up my new vehicle today, its a Prius Prime. So it will run as an electric car for city driving, but has the gas engine for longer trips. This is needed because there are not enough charging facilities in the north when we go to the cottage. I am hoping this may be my last new car, although you never know. We are keeping the small SUV for hauling, it has the trailer hitch, and I will never get what is worth selling or trading in because of the high mileage. But its had a new engine, exhaust and body work, so it should last a good long time. So I think we are good for cars for a long while now.
Lots to learn about the new car. yippee

Doctor's appointment went well. I was worried about blood pressure but it was surprisingly good. I am getting blood work checked again in 3 months and I vow to show improvements.

Carol Sue Glad your doctor's appt went well. You can do this girl and in 3 months I am sure you will get better #s.

My weight was was 183.2 this morning although I weighed early. Even at that, I'm sure that is more of an accurate weight than yesterday because it wasn't influenced by a fluid pill. I haven't heard from my doctor's office yet so I hope he will prescribe the Lasix or some mild pill without me having to go in. FBG was 94 this morning and I sure hope I can keep it there.

No breakfast today since I went to beauty shop. I wasn't going to go to the store afterwards because I was getting per and got out so much later. But DH was out of strawberries and we both needed some berries etc so I I did get my Friday walk at the store done. When I got home, I had to clean fruit and cut strawberries etc so I have had 2 strawberries and a few bites of watermelon while cutting the store cut slices into chunks. I think I am going to make some shrimp scampi for dinner today because it is a quick fix. I'll drain mine and put it in my salad.
