Cool

Hi, all. Usual summer weather of fog/sun and cool. The big question is will it clear up for the fireworks tomorrow night? BGL was 119. Don't know what I did or didn't do to deserve that but hope it keeps up.
Meowee - I've had those eye hemorhages. They can creep people out. I wear my sunglasses most of the time anyway as I'm sensitive to light.
Jeanne - Did the doctor explain why he was changing your meds? I hope you don't get caught in a tug of war between the two.
Well, I'm off for the next four days. Hurray, I get to sleep! Happy 4th to the Americanos and hope everyone keeps cool.

Ouch, Meowee! One of the girls I work with has those all the time too. They look like they should hurt more often than they do, but it sure is scary when they hurt. Hope it's better soon.

Sounds like that fits in the Full Moon-like day we had yesterday, but most of ours were just hilarious, silly stuff and strange. Glad I am not working today.

I was just exhausted last night from unintentionally overdoing it, and then after tap class I was so hungry, it was like I couldn't get full. I was surprised to have a bgl of only 103 this morning. Guess everything was working overtime for me yesterday.

Having a church group picnic and watching the fireworks. It was raining earlier, and here's hoping that the evening rain holds off for after they are done, because there is about zero chance for tomorrow as a rain date. I am cooking today, so I am not getting much else done, including exercise. Hopefully I will get some in while at the picnic, mingling. Hope I don't eat badly, so I can have a good weigh in tomorrow.

Jeanne, I wouldn't change any meds without the regular doctor knowing about it. What was the reason? Does it sound reasonable to you? Be careful.

Later, ladies. Gotta check the pizza dough.

Kathy

Hey all...sorry that I did not get on yesterday, but we had thunderstorm after thunderstorm thru last night into mid-morning. I don't go on the computer when that happens.
Doing okay today...am taking metformin for insulin resistance..had to talk to my dr. about it and it seems to be helping. My bgl was 102 this am. I do plan on asking my dr. to keep me on it. She is doing it for a month only and I want to keep it going. How does met. seem to do for you all?

Hello AngelMomma, Nice to meet you. I had to have my Dr change my Metformin due to some really harsh gastric upset. I had to plan my life around how close I could be to a toilet...I think you get the idea. He had me try Januvia which did absolutely nothing for me and after 4 months at $164 a month I told him I wasn't taking them anymore. He put me on an extended release version of Metformin and I am doing fine on it still 3 months later! I hope you do well on yours! I am just curious, why did your Dr only want to give it for a month?

Good Morning . . .

Hope all of you on the southern side of our "longest unguarded border in the world" have a really great FOUTH OF JULY WEEKEND

ANGEL . . . I'm one of the lucky ones who never had any problems at all with Metformin. From what I've read, most of the intenstinal upset usually subsides after the first month or so.

Speaking of diabetes related stuff -- my BGL was 9.9 / 178 this morning. As usual, I think it is mostly a timing thing since it was pretty decent at bedtime last night in spite of my starchy and salty overinulgences of yesterday. Amazingly enough those indulgences have not resulted in swollen 'cankles' or an overnight weight gain either (at least not yet). The overnight "miracles" did not, however, make the horror-movie eye go away.

Anyway . . . nothing too new or exciting in my plans for today . . . see you all later.

Thumbs up

Good morning everyone, and happy July 4th

I did really well at the picnic, so I was kinda upset this morning to have had a 116 bgl, but it was probably just a little rebound from my snack. I got my walking done, and lost a pound so I am very happy with my week.

It is a rainy day here. We need it so badly, though. It quit raining for the fireworks last night, and then started up again. I feel bad for those planning a day of grilling out. Hope it doesn't cancel the fireworks at the University.

Later, ladies!

Kathy

ROSEY . . . I know I speak for everybody when I say how happy we are to have you back and to know thatyou are home and on the mend.

Knowing that you've lost all the weight and that you actually like exercise is justa great added bonus, too. Wow.

Ms. Rosey! So very pleased to see you here today! And Meowee is right, everyone here has missed you! You only made a post ot two then you were gone...all about the time I came onboard, so it will be nice getting to really know you. You just wait until you see how many times you were mentioned in these ladies posts! I hate you had to lose the weight the way you did but 62 pounds???????? That is half of a normal sized person you know! I think it is great for you! Those wound vacs are amazing in how they SPEED the healing process and I can't wait for you to educate us all on it. When you are up to it you have to tell us what your eating, portion size, etc., I know that would help me if no one else. So very nice to have you back!

Good Morning Sugar-Babes . . .

It is a glorious looking morning outside -- sunny and warm without the threat of too hot and muggy hanging over us. Gotta it.

Well . . . as strange as this may sound coming from a Canuk . . . I had a great 4th. Really enjoyed the fireworks and managed to keep on track with the food. I live in a tourist town and this happens to be our annual Lobster Carnival weekend and since we have so many US vistors in town we had a great display of lights in the sky. And, to the best of my knowledge, nobody fell into the harbour.

The BGL is back to a tolerable level this morning after yesterday's horrid start, but I did find that bit of salt-induced weight gain I expected earlier. Hopefully it will be gone again quickly.

Keep things moving and shaking, gang and I will see you all later.

Did not do that good yesterday...but it could have been better. Took furbaby out for a walk then we took her to an outdoor theater...the people around us were shoot fireworks all day and she was a wreck. She is doing alot better today as am I. Welcome back Rosie and hope to be able to get to know you better.

We've had an uneventful long weekend, which is nice. We visited family for a cookout on Friday, then just did yard work and stuff yesterday. The yard work caused my bgl to spike--I hate that! Any physical exertion, be it intentional exercise or just any activity beyod light housework and my levels go up. Doctors don't seem to have an explanation.

Good Morning . . .

I actually had a pretty good day yesterday and I'm looking forward to another one today. Looks like it will be sunny and warm again although the humidity is on the rise and so is my BGL as of first thing this am, but, as usual, I imagine it will come down over the course of the day.

Hope everybody else has a great one, too . . . :crrot:
