Okay you guys have really inspired me to start exercising again! I've been reading the comments and I know that it's time. I use to ride my exercise bike 1 hour a day. I don't want to disappoint myself but I am going to commit to exercising 1 hour a day at least 4 hours a day.:goodvibes

Great job "stopeating"!! YOU DID IT!!!

jcatron243 11-19-2006 01:44 AM

loveandlaugh: I don't know what is best, but I know that you should incorporate both strength training and cardio. The doctors who wrote YOU on a diet said 30 minutes of strength training a week and "sweating" for 30 minutes per day, plus 10,000 steps per day. I am trying to go by that and see how it works but the 30 minutes of sweating everyday I haven't done, I usually workout everyday, but I don't always work my way to a good sweat. I have also heard that doing a high intensity one day, low intensity the next works good to. It all just depends on your body.

Stopeating!!! great job!! I love my stationary bike!!!

Hi everyone. Hope you all are well. I've been doing good on eating and getting my exercise in. Put the computer in the shop finally so I will be back in a week or so.

sugarbaby269 11-19-2006 11:36 PM

I think I've been posting on another exercise challenge too... LOL Cause I don't have all my exercise posts here. Goodness! I'll tally them up and post later but yesterday I did walk for 50 minutes and did the gym for 40. Today I walked for 60 minutes and did heavy housework for over 60 minutes. :D

Oh this is going to be a tough week. My sister and family are visiting from Denver and staying at my parent's house, which means I am spending most of the week down there. Both my mom and my other sister are extremely overweight and completely messed up when it comes to food and exercise (visiting sister is the "skinny one"). Half the time they try to sabotage my efforts or at a minimum it is a sore spot. It sucks because not only will there be garbage food around me all week, but I am away from my gym and normal routine. My dog will be with me and am going to aim for some dog walking to at least keep moving. SO glad I am way ahead of my exercise goal for the month and have some wiggle room here.

November
1 - 15 min brisk walk with dog, 50 minute killer spin class = 65 minutes
2 - 30 min brisk walk with dog, 30 min swimming (1,000 yards/20 laps... a little over a half mile) = 60 mins

Sojo: Good luck, just make sure you get the dog out there and walk him up a storm. I hope you do well with your eating too. My family thinks its funny to say here you go......oh, wait you are on a diet you can't have it, he he he. My dad has gotten better, although he still brings stuff to the kids he tries to bring something healthier for me. My mom and sister (both want to shed 10-15 pounds) think it is funny to taunt me, or if I have a small slice of b-day cake they say "Oh I thought you were on a diet." ARGHHHHH!!!!! That is why I come here. I need this place for the great support. MY DH is great, he really is but, his belief is " oh this meal won't kill you."

Families can be the worse sometimes. I don't really have that problem thank god! I can get alot, a little, or no of anything and no one says squat. My stepfather and out of state family will ask me if I want something, I say no, they say 'are you sure'?, I say no again and that's it.

stopeating 11-20-2006 12:45 PM

Yesterday I exercised an hour and 15 minutes!!! Two days straight is a record for me. I have a work thing tonight but I hope to get in at least 15 minutes. We'll see.
