Worked out for an additional 1 1/2 hr yesterday, and then again 1/2 hr this morning. I'm doin' well this week, so it makes up for the fact that I didn't work out Mon or Tues. At this rate I will definitely hit my Workout goal! Yay, it gives me even MORE motivation than I already have, knowing that I will do it! Have a great day, AND GET YOUR WORKOUT IN!

Jasmine31 11-16-2006 11:51 AM

Okay so I am still doing pretty good with my walking. I am at 1345 minutes of extra brisk walking done. My average is 89 minutes a day right now! Wow! Last month it was only 67 average a day. I am a bit depressed though. My eating has been fine with my cals and not going over or being bad etc but I am only down 4.5 pounds this month. :( I started out at 219 and am this a.m. at 214.5. :( I just feel like since I am walking an additional 20 minutes a day( I even try to throw in a jog for a few minutes every once in a while while on my walks too) you'd think I would be losing more. I know it is normal for the 2 pounds a week and much more than that could be muscle or water etc but it seems like last month alot of weeks I was losing 2.5 a week! I know the scale is no true measurement and I really need to start taking measurements. I am also a bit bummed cause it looks like my tummy is falling and it makes me feel even fatter! Someone please tell me it is getting ready to fall off!!

All you ladies are doing great! WTG on the exercise and losses!!!

Jasmine31 11-16-2006 11:52 AM

Jennie, how many minutes are you at?

jcatron243 11-16-2006 11:57 AM

Great Job on your workout Shellie!!!
Oh Jasmine!! Remember the more weight you lose the harder it is to lose! Just remember you are doing great!! Keep up with the exercise and eating right and the weight will come off, it will!!!

No workout for me again yesterday. I had to pick up my sisters from school (unplanned, they got out early and couldn't get a hold of my mom) when I got back my power was out for 7 hours! We went to my dads after about 2 hours because Tommy hated the dark! I got home in time to get the kids cleaned up and crashed.

jcatron243 11-16-2006 11:58 AM

Jasmine no where near you, but I do have 14 days to catch up!!!

Thanx I know it is just rough. I am tempted to drop cals but I know with my walking more I shouldn't. I am goihng to take a peek at Glory. I know she was about 195 and I think she was doing 1400-1600 a day. Maybe that IS what I need to do?

11679 for the 7 days (including today) = an average of 1668 cals a day.

I think your calories sound pretty good! I am having some trouble with mine, I have had a few days of really bad eating. But I have a renewed sense of commitment, So I am going to do a crazy workout today (but I have to be careful with my darn knee, I think it is about doctor time.)

Sojourner 11-16-2006 02:04 PM

Jasmine over a pound a week is EXCELLENT! Also remember that the smaller you get the less calories you need. I do weight watchers program and every 25 pounds you lose you have to drop your base calories by 100 calories (points) a day. However they do have a system in place to account for exercise and activity so the more you exercise the more calories you can earn for that day. If you want more info on the numbers I can provide it for your reference.

Your body might also have adapted to the walking. Its probably time to really start mixing things up by adding interval training or a new type of workout like biking or swimming and maybe even strength training. To start interval training, try walking 5 mins, run 1 min, walk 5, run 1, repeat for your whole workout. You are really doing great!

shelliebellie 11-16-2006 02:29 PM

You read my mind Sojo! Jasmine, your body is probably used to the walking, so it isn't working as hard as it used to. You should probably change up your routine once a month, which is how long it takes your body to develop a habit. Try adding a few foot weights to your walk, or you can even try a workout video.
Jeni- if your knee is still bothering you, by all means go to the doctor!!! You don't want it to get worse, do you? Guilting you won't get you there any faster, but it's probably not good that it is still hurting. Mine is only aching a little bit while I'm at work, but that is because I am really sedentary and my knees are bent all day long.
Sojo- You know, I really want to just chow down on anything when I see your avatar. YUMMY!

sugarbaby269 11-16-2006 02:32 PM

45 minutes of walking today. I'm increasing the speed as it's getting easier to jam... :D

shelliebellie 11-16-2006 02:51 PM

Go Sugar!!Woohoo!

jcatron243 11-16-2006 03:08 PM

Thanks for the advice shellie. I stand/walk while at work 5-8 hours per shift. I just over did it last week. I think I am going to keep taking my ibprofen and if it isn't better I will call the doc on monday. I am also taking my workouts slow! (I am still doing them though.) It isn't that I don't want to take care of myself, and I definately don't want it to get worse, but I hate my doctor. He is a pill pushing doctor who doesn't listen to anything but what he wants to hear. I haven't switched docs because I usually only go if I have a sinus infection or UTI. (The last time I was there was before I got PG with Tommy and he is a year old!) If it isn't better by Monday I will definately go in.

Sojourner 11-16-2006 03:12 PM

My avatar... LOL it just makes me laugh because it is so stupid! Everytime I go to switch it I change my mind because I think it is quite goofy and no one else is crazy enough to use it here at 3FC!

shelliebellie 11-16-2006 03:25 PM

I know what you mean, Jeni, about changing your doctor. I had the same one for years, and all he did was call me and my family fat (even my sister who is 5'10" and 150) and tell us to lose weight. Finally, after years of abuse I finally switched. So yeah, I know what you mean by avoiding the doctor like the plague.
Sojo- Keep it!!! It is sooo wonderful.
