Riestrella: Pushups are terrible. I'm still doing extremely elevated pushups, off my couch. Best I can do so far. Part of that is that I'm weak, but part is the weight also. Much harder to push up 232 pounds than it would be if i was a healthy weight. So I'm hoping that by working at it and weight loss, at some point, my weight will come down as my strength comes up, and I will be able to finally do normal ground pushups. Also, good luck on your 5k. I've done a few of them before, but I always just walked. I think I jogged like 5 or 10 minutes of one years ago, but that's it. One of these days, once my ankle is fully healed and I'm another 10 pounds lighter, I'm going to start integrating running into my walks, and might run a 5k one day.

Back from the campground and my last weekend of no booze. Two more weigh-ins for the month...Looking for the 184ish. Trying to get things unpacked and laundry done. What a gorgeous weekend in Southern Illinois! Hope you all are having a great Sunday!
Snowmama, nice to hear from you! I grew up about 30 miles north of Santa Cruz, it was a frequent fun spot for me. There's no harm in cutting loose now and again; looks like you're getting right back into stride so no worries.
Welcome Sunshine, I follow SB principles as well. It works nicely for me - good going on 8 lbs. already.
Yay, JenyReddy, you're making some real progress! Way to go.
Lacerta, awesome on the new low. With your determination, you can take this as far as you want.
Riestrella, I picked out a head lamp on Amazon! I'll get it with our next order. Thanks for the idea! Your painting by numbers looks really cool. As long as all the parts are there and nobody started it already, no big deal. The diamond painting is not really painting but gluing little faceted rhinestones to the right places to make a 5D sparkly picture. It looks interesting. Oh, my two eldest sons are into HOTS while I find Starcraft and WoW more to my taste. All in the same Blizz family!
It's impossible to avoid lots of carbs at a Thai restaurant but it is so worth it! LOL The Halloween 5K sounds so fun, and good going on making and exceeding your monthly goal!
Grats, momtopands, on two victories this month!
Ophelia, nice job getting back into the swing of things; those whooshes are so rewarding. You've got this!
boatingmommy, wow, you've made a lot of progress. Here's hoping the next two weigh-ins are where you want them.
Everyone has really pushed this month and it shows. Nice going!
My goal this month is to weigh in at 132 by the end of the month, 4 lb loss
July 1st: 136
July 9th: 135
July 19th: 133
July 23rd: 132
July 26th: 132 July 29th: 131
This will be my last weigh-in and post on this challenge. We'll be back home in two weeks, in time to join the next challenge; most of that time I won't have internet. Hopefully I won't have a lot of vacation weight to lose but that's hard to say. I'm a little nervous about this getaway, mainly how difficult it'll be for me to handle life on an aircraft carrier. My silly sound sensitivity will be a real challenge - I'm guessing I'll be wearing earplugs and earmuffs pretty much all the time! But what an experience, and visiting my Navy son makes it all worthwhile. Take care, everyone!
Not feeling very well today, so going to postpone personals until tomorrow. Until then, I hope everyone is having a great day!
Weigh-in was down to 170.2 yesterday, then down a bit more to 169.6 today...which means I've at least broke even for July. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can keep myself under that point by month's end and that I will continue moving back down into and through the 160s again now that I've reentered that threshold.

Hello Everyone, It's been a while since I last posted here. Hope you are all doing well
A lot of things happened in my life in the past few months, I lost my job, both my parents been hospitalized...all of these had a toll on my recent weight gain of 15 lbs.
I just turned 40 yesterday. I am really wishing to make some changes and have a fresh start both physically and mentally.
Are we having a August challenge? Thank you very much, Joe

Total loss for Entire Month:
I'm pretty confident now that I will end the month with at least my goal of 7 pounds lost. Now I'm trying to decide how to set my August goals. To stay on track for my end of year goal, I'll need to be at least down to 226, but right now, that's only 5.4 pounds away. So do I set it at that, or do I stick with 7 pounds? I've noticed that every other month seems to be good for me and the opposing months tend to come in under 7 pounds, so if that pattern holds, I'll lose less than 7 in August. But on the other hand, I've been back out walking again, and started to make better and better food choices, so .... I think I'll set two goals for August. One to stay on track and one as a stretch goal.
I was getting frustrated trying to fit into my Gitano shorts, that are likely closer to today's 12 than the 16 on the tag, and didn't really have a pair of "goal jeans" right now, and I saw that Shopko had my favorite brand on sale, so I went out and bought a pair of 14s and 12s. I am much closer to fitting into the 14s than I thought I'd be. Much closer than the 16 shorts, too. So that'll be an August goal also.
Woah boy, bad bad weekend for food. Yesterday I had an egg sandwich for breakfast, a burger with tots for lunch then chips and brownies for dinner. The chips and brownies were because I was playing D&D at a friends house and we all just brought nibbles over, which is why it was an unusual dinner!
I think my strategy for next time we have a free-for-all type set up I'm going to get a plate, take a handful of everything and then keep it at that. I think when I don't have a plate to eat from, I don't really know just how much I'm eating, so I tend to keep grabbing more until it's too late. I had like THREE brownies which is ridiculous, I only needed one. I think the only good I did is I constantly drank water.
Needless to say, I'm taking the fall for it today on the scale - 185.4 lbs. I'll be honest, I did average out my weight today using last weeks average, because I actually weighed in at 186 lbs, but I want to be kind to myself and not end the month on a high since I have come a long way since the beginning of July.
Today I'm going to workout, it's a Boxercise type Insanity video and be mindful of my food intake + drink lots of water. I'm coming onto my period in about 2 days too, so my slight gains might be because of that, but I don't want to blame it all on my period and relax because I've done that in the past.

Lacerta - You can definitely do a 5K someday, I know it's such a buzz topic but the Couch to 5K program really is amazing at getting you ready for a 5K no matter what your fitness level is. The early weeks are so forgiving with plenty of walking. I know you're super focused on ankle strength building at the moment but I think it's a great thing to aim for! But I would totally recommend doing more leg strength exercises in conjunction with walk/jogging to make sure your ankle is fully supported on its own. Thankfully doing full pushups just isn't on my bucket list, so I literally make sure I've got correct form and do tiny tiny ones. I do try to dip as low as I can, but if I go too far then I will actually just flop onto the ground and never get up
Cattails - Yes, I can't wait for you to try out your headlamp! You know I never got into WoW and I'm kind of glad because I would definitely be glued to it. My friend developed a bit of an obsession with it in College and I think that put me off, I have the same kind of addictive personality, but it does look like a great game. Haha, can you imagine if I got the painting and it was halfway complete?! That would've been something! Thank you for your support!! I hope I can keep my average down tomorrow to end the month on a positive note! Have an amazing time being with your son again and take care of yourself!! We'll miss you until then and I look forward to speaking to you again next month!
Opphheeelliaaaa!! Congrats on busting through that vacation weight like a CHAMP! You're an inspiration! Sorry you're not feeling well, hope you feel better soon!
yangzter - I'm so sorry about your life situation right now, that sounds tough. Good for you for deciding to make a change in the middle of chaos, I'm sure there'll be an August challenge!

Lacerta: I wanted to congratulate you first before getting started on other personals, because I skipped them yesterday but saw that you hit your goal for the month...great work!
Riestrella: I ended up getting busy that first night and then wasn't feeling well yesterday, so I still haven't tried it. Definitely going to make some time to check it out tonight though, since I am feeling more energetic today! (The modifier track, that is...lol.) As for Overwatch, I don't currently play it, but we do have it...I play Heroes of the Storm, though, which features a lot of Overwatch characters in it, lol. (D.Va, Tracer, Junkrat, Genji, Lucio, Ana, Hanzo, and Zarya.) I keep meaning to try Overwatch itself, but I haven't yet.
Joe: I'm sorry that things have been so rough over the last couple of months, but I am hoping that you had a happy birthday yesterday! Best wishes for things to improve for both you and your parents, as well. Hugs!

Weigh-in was the same at 169.6 again today...better than going back over into the 170s again, so I'm okay with it. Especially considering I barely drank any water yesterday and was a little over on my sodium count. I'm probably lucky I didn't show a gain today, lol. I'm feeling better today and have gone into deep-cleaning mode around the house, so I'm going to ride that wave as far as it takes me before I run out of energy. I'm just taking a lunch/coffee break at the moment, then will have to go to an appointment a little after 1pm, then hoping I will have a little of that steam left over to get back to my to-do list I've been needing to catch up on since getting back from vacation...I haven't even fully unpacked my suitcase, if that tells you anything.

Target achieved! Two months of maintenance done.
I've lost a couple of lb this month but that's ok, as I can't expect to be perfect straight away. i'm getting better at figuring out what i'm doing and will be aiming to do better at not losing (or gaining) anything next month. And most importantly i'm still motivated to stick to healthy food, so July was all good
Good morning. Congratulations to everyone that made their goals! I have many pages to read here. I’ve been out of town for almost two weeks. My dad passed away. I’m doing all right but I have not been trying to lose weight. I will try to start again today and sign up for the August challenge.

I was hoping to stay at the 10+ but I got a little ahead of myself and ate poorly over the weekend. Yesterday a bag of Cheetos and myself had a battle...I came out of it with a bruised ego and orange fingers! I'm ready for the next month, though. Hope all of you end the month on a high note!
