I can relate to the struggles. I've lost and regained so many times. Every time I tell myself that this time I will keep on doing what works - weighing every day, checking in here every day, etc, and every time I get frustrated and give up. So I don't know what the answer is. But it's certainly ok to come on here and vent and share your frustrations because we all have them.

I also have a new goal. I've gone back to work full time, and my new office has a business casual dress code. I have plenty of clothes from my previous life - but none of them fit! So I'm going to try to get back there over the next six months - I was around 125 lbs back then...

Tesni: Thank you...I am feeling better today. The whoosh definitely helped, and I think my first day back on track landing on a Monday was a lucky happenstance, since Mondays always seem like a good day to start things over with a renewed energy. Not sure why that is, probably just the societal perception of our calendar...but, it it helped nonetheless, lol.

flower1: Thank you so much for your kind words and for stepping out from your own silent struggle to share them! I hope we're both able to redirect some focus back onto our health before we slip any further into the struggle...it can be hard sometimes, but I feel like just coming back and posting about it has helped, as well. I hope it helps you, too! I know I was afraid I was always saying the same things with the ups and downs and plateauing and would get annoying to others while I've been stuck, but everyone here really is quite kind and understanding. And, knowing that you were struggling with the same thing makes me happy that I said something so that you know you're not the only one...I hope you're able to get back on track this week and come back to posting more often, as well.

momtopands, ange82much, kfunk & nicoley73: That is all very true! So many of us have known and dealt with this struggle many times over the weeks, months, and even years that we've been on this path, so I guess it's actually the perfect place to vent about it in reality...lol. I just didn't want to sound like a broken record all the time, but I'm happy that everyone is so nice about it because you understand. Thank you all for your kind words, and I hope this coming week is a better one for us all! To kfunk, I hope you get your whoosh soon, and to momtopands, I hope you hit your new decade soon!

---------------------------------

Coming back down finally after the fiasco that was last week...weigh-in was 184.4 today. I hope I'm able to keep this whoosh down tomorrow, but we had lunch out at a new Mexican place today, so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and chugging water all afternoon. The portions weren't as large nor was the cheese content as high as our normal place has, so hopefully the damage won't be too great this time. As I always say, we shall see! Unfortunately, it's hard to accurately gauge the calories for tracking purposes at little hole-in-the-wall restaurants because they never have nutritional info, but I did my best to track with a similar dish listed in the MFP database. I chose the highest calorie option on MFP's list to log, just to be on the safe side.

kfunk, ophelia and ange - thank you all for your very kind words. I agree that everyone on this site can probably understand the ups and downs of this journey and when I read your posts I did feel a bit better. I'm also really struggling with motivation but today I got in a 45 min walk and I'm doing a bit better food wise but still room for improvement.

well done for posting flower we're the same height pretty much so I've jealously looked at your weight every time I see your name!! You've done really really well to get there, so don't let it go. Enjoy being a healthy weight and feel proud of where you are right now. You must look great, so appreciate what you've done, and get back to enjoying your healthy ways cos you're worth it.

ophelia well done for posting too. Fantastic you had a good day on Monday and a whoosh. Don't need to say how amazingly you've done. You must be a completely different person from when you started, and on a journey like that there's bound to be ups and downs. Hold on, and remember you're going to be the new person from now on, for ever, so you can definitely get back on track to new person lifestyle.

Too many off-plan days. I have a week off, which is great, but makes it harder for me to keep to my planned eating. Tonight I am going to hibachi for my son's birthday but that should be ok if I just eat the meat and vegetables.

Felt pretty icky Monday, probably due to how off plan Sunday was. Went over to a friend’s house with plans to go to dinner out. I looked up the menu and planned what I would eat – and then they decided to cook. Crab stuffed mushrooms and philly cheesesteak, smoked all afternoon. Even after I mentioned my diet. So I ate it. Not a lot, but it was rich food, and I haven’t been eating bread. Also had a drink, which I have also pretty much cut out. Went over my planned daily average calories by about 400.
The scale appears to have reacted quickly, but I’m back on track and we’ll see what happens. I was a little bummed not to have broken into the 170s like I thought I was on track for. Planning on a bike ride this evening after work and hopefully that will help things start moving back in the right direction.

Down again today, though I don't know how that is since I ate a bunch of stuff I shouldn't have last night. I guess I didn't go over my calories but it left me feeling really unwell so no more junk food for me!

flower1: That's definitely a great step in the right direction! No pun intended, lol. Any efforts, no matter how small they may feel in comparison to what you're used to doing, will get you back on track a lot faster than waiting until you feel motivated enough to make bigger commitments. Keep at it, and you will get there.

ange83much: Thank you for the reminder! It's easy to lose sight of the big picture when we can all get so focused on and frustrated by the smaller struggles along the way.

nicoley73: I hope you enjoy the night out for your son's birthday, and it sounds like you have a good plan on eating healthily, even while out and about.

SnowMama: I hope you enjoy your bike ride! I bet an on-plan day today along with that will help you get back down in no time.

momtopands: Nice loss!

Weigh-in was 184.0 today -- I'm thrilled with that, considering that I was a little worried about our lunch out yesterday. I've still only been getting in the 2.2L of water, but going to try hitting the gallon today. Not much else to report...I hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday!

ange- thank you so much for your support You're right it is important to remind ourselves of what we have already accomplished and especially not to let go of all that hard work - thank you reminding me. I also noticed that are about the same height and we started our weight loss journey close to the same weight. I've watched your progress and week after week you manage to lose. Your progress is absolutely amazing and I'm sure you will have a good result on the scale when you are back from your trip.

I'm pleased that I managed to get in another walk today and so far have been on plan.

Ophelia - thanks so much for your support congrats on your downward trend great job!

kfunk: Nice loss today! And, the water continues to be a struggle for me, as well...not sure why, but I'm hoping we both hit our water goals again soon!

nicoley73: Last night's dinner out must have gone well if you're coming back down from your gain the other night...good job!

Down a pound to 183.0, which is surprising considering I snacked on my husband's tortilla chips late last night while watching TV together and ended up eating way more than I intended. I guess the scale is just being kind to me today, so I will gladly take it and just hope that I can keep it down tomorrow!

kfunk - you are doing awesome You'll be in a new decade before you know it - that is super exciting.

ophelia - nice drop!

Got in another walk and on plan so far today. I have to almost push myself out the door as the motivation is lacking ...

Ate mostly protein yesterday - will continue with that today and tomorrow. We are out of town this weekend but I will try to make good choices. It's so hard with restaurant food. Even the hibachi - it was shocking how much butter they put on everything.

Nice drop Ophelia!
