  • Hi all,

    New to the site, and I like your vibe. And I love a challenge.
    Been struggling with weight gained during the perfect storm of 2012: foot surgery, new bf who loved to cook, new completely sedentary job, anti-anxiety meds, and a brief flirtation with phentermine to lose 5 lbs. (stupid - 130 to 125). I blinked and was at 150, blinked again and was at 170. Been creeping up and down since then. I've tried to lose on my own and made some progress, but nothing sizable or sustained. Looking for some accountability among similarly minded people to get back to my 2011 weight and activity level. So here we go:

  • I went to bed hungry last night and I'm still hungry this morning. My eating window doesn't open for 3 hours. So I;m drinking coffee, La Croix and tea and trying to keep active.

    momtopands: This whole week was nothing but ups and downs for me, as well. It's a very frustrating process, lol. Glad you were able to get back down to where you started yesterday...and hope you get your whoosh today!


    amandie: So close to the 150s!! (Or, maybe even down into them by now?) Either way, you're doing great!

    Man, I am falling behind on here this week...lol. I missed a couple days this time, but I have been tracking all along! I was up a tiny bit to 186.2 on the 5th, which ended up being the day we ate at the Mexican restaurant instead of this weekend, so - needless to say - I had quite a bit of bloat and went all the way up to 187.8 yesterday. Thankfully, yesterday was my other fasting day for the week (it was Tuesday/Friday this week instead of Monday/Thursday), so I was able to focus a little more on the water and whooshed back down to 185.6 today. Overall, with all the ups and downs this week, I only had a 0.8 lb loss for the week, but I'm just happy it's not a continued gain after the night out on Thursday. Going to try to play catch up a little on the scale for Week Two!

    I'm travelling for the next 2.5 weeks so won't be able to weigh in on my own scales for a while. I did hop on the scales at the hotel I stayed in last night and they told me I was 130.9 which was very nice of them, but i'm not counting it and will wait to get back to my own scales for the next official weigh-in.
    Food was good whilst commuting (2 days worth). I missed quite a few plane meals by sleeping and skipped the croissants/muffins/ junky bits of what I was served, so should be on track I think.
    I'm 9hrs time difference from home now, so probably won't be feeling hungry when everyone else is anyway for a few days whilst I get over the jetlag, so hopefully a chance to ease myself in to eating sensibly without the temptation of feeling hungry.
  • Went to a party last night, but didn't drink and was moderate with food. Hoping I can keep on track for Sunday. I'm going to meal prep for the week in a little bit.

    And, TOM swoops in early yet again and skyrockets my weigh-in back up to 187.2 today. Everything was on-plan yesterday except the water, so going to focus on that again today and hope some of the bloat goes back down. Trucking on and will just be hoping that TOM doesn't wash another week down the drain this time around...we shall see!

  • Hi everybody,

    I am new here but definitely could benefit from a sense of community. I got married at the end of December and have gained just over 10 pounds since then. I hate my new body and I'm so uncomfortable every day. I know it isn't a huge amount, but it is the feelings of loss of control and helplessness that are making it all worse. (woe is me)

    I want to lose 12 pounds, but would be happy with the goal of 8 pounds for the rest of April...doable? Possible? We shall see. Maybe the goal is too steep for now...head is in such a rotten place.

  • hi KitKats - great to see you here and well done for making a start with getting that weight off by posting on here. What are your plans to lose it? Is your husband going to help you do you think? Did you lose weight before you got married, or is this a new high weight for you? I know what you mean about feeling uncomfortable. If your weight's on your mind all the time anyway, it might as well be good thoughts because you're on plan and losing rather than bad thoughts that you're not in control!! Good luck - get it nipped in the bud now
