TooManyDimples: My body has done that so many times, where it will come across a number it likes and stick to it like glue for awhile...always so frustrating. Hope you get your whoosh soon!
Joe: We're about and hour or so south of Tucson and at a higher elevation near a tiny mountain, so the terrain and area is prettier, despite it still being very southern Arizona-esque. It's definitely not as green as Georgia, so I miss that part the most, but we're adjusting to it.
gail28: I hope you're able to push through and down on the scale over the weekend!
VickieLou: Very nice progress!
flower1: Thank you! I hope to hit it in the next week or two...definitely keeping my fingers crossed, lol.
----------------------------------------------------
Weigh-in was 204 even today. Between the elliptical and a 3 mile walk last night I got in over 16k steps, and I DID end up hitting my goal of 16 servings of water (128oz) yesterday! I'd like to get back up to the 18-20 like I used to drink, but 16 was my minimum, so I'm happy to have hit that mark yesterday. I bought a bigger water bottle (2.2L mini-jug) for around the house to help keep me mindful of drinking enough. We will see if that helps me hit my goal again today! Already got in some time on the elliptical this morning...thankfully, my youngest held on through the boredom of being out there with me long enough for me to get a half hour in instead of just 20 minutes like yesterday, lol.

I had a binge last night. I binge whenever I'm bored and have trouble sleeping. I still walked 5k during the day though.
Are you guys on some sort of diet or just counting calories? I try to have a high protein low carb diet. I just watch my portion and stop when I'm not hungry anymore. Joe

Ok... enough of this little plateau.. time to push lower...!
Our temperatures dropped about 30 degrees today and we're back in the teens for highs.
GardnerJoy... sorry to hear you've been sick. Similar stuff is going around here, too... I'm trying hard to avoid it. Hope you feel better soon.
Ophelia... way to go... you just keep on truckin!

TooManyDimples: I think including so many elliptical workouts this week has helped shake things up for me again, but I'm taking a rest day from it today. Hopefully I won't bump back up tomorrow because of that. We will see. Nice loss, by the way...you're almost in a new decade now!
gardenerjoy: Are you starting to feel any better?
Joe: One binge will just be a tiny bump in the road...I hope you have a better day today! As far as a diet goes, I'm a vegetarian and I do intermittent fasting. Not on any actual, specific diets, though...I just calorie count! I try to stay between 1200-1600 calories, depending on what I do for the day. When I start lifting in the Spring, I will have to experiment with increasing the calorie range and see what works for me then.
gail28: I hope you get a break in your plateau soon!!
----------------------------------------------------
Weigh-in was 203.2 today, which was surprising because my husband and I went out for an impromptu dinner last night. To navigate that, I ate lots of the salad beforehand and, even though I indulged in a couple breadsticks, I ended up saving half of my entree to have as dinner tonight. And, because we got back so much later than expected, I didn't have any time left to go out on a walk to finish up my activity time for the day, so I ended up doing a second round on the elliptical instead. I am sore today because of that, but I think it definitely helped offset the dinner a little...so, it was worth it. I've already gotten in a 3 mile walk this morning, so I think that might be it for me today. I'm going to take today as a rest day from the elliptical! Haha. As far as my water goal goes, I didn't hit it yesterday due to all the running around we did last night, but I at least finished my whole 2.2L bottle before bed, so it was still better than I had been doing. I'm going to see if I can finish two bottles today, since we don't have anything going on.

opheliaphoenix: I'm still working to get my energy level back up, but otherwise I feel healthy! Thanks!
yangster: For me, the key is to make food boring. There are much better forms of entertainment available. So I eat pretty much the same thing before supper and have a limited repertoire of supper dishes. Underlying all that is pretty much the old-fashioned Weight Watchers exchange program -- some protein, some starch, and a whole lot of veggies. Plus just enough fat to make all that taste good. I plan, every morning, what I will eat during the day. I don't always follow the plan 100%, but having it sets the structure of my eating for the day and helps me think through problems before they happen.

Finally got a little drop this morning... yay!
It's still cold here.... 8 degrees right now, and not going to get much warmer today. We have a little snow on the ground, but it's sunny and we have a bright blue sky... so at least the view out the windows is cheerful.

It was so cold and windy, I only walked half the distance I normally walk. the cold front is coming to ATL next week.
ophelia..what's intermittent fasting? how do you get those progress tickers?
gardenerjoy..I'm a foodie, so I always have a good appetite. lol. I guess it's good and bad, I just need to figure out if I am really hungry or just bored. It's nice that you have a plan every morning, so the rest of the day is on auto-pilot I saw that you like gardening. how is your garden in the winter?
gail28..where are you located? we have nice view out the window too here in Atlanta, sunny and nice blue sky, but once you walk out, it's chilly and windy. do you workout in door in the winter?
waving hello to flower1,TooManyDimples(Kim),VickieLou
keep warm everyone, Joe

gardenerjoy so glad you're feeling better! This flu going around it awful! Congratulations on your loss.
gail28 congrats for getting past that plateau! Keep it up!
opheliaphoenix great loss!
flower1 Good job!
yangtzer What do you mean the cold front is coming?(I live just south of ATL). I was in heaven on Friday morning(the 60's) then it plummeted to the 30's and below. I was 22 this morning and I dread the further drops. You'd think I wasn't from Chicago! As far as the binge, I have been there too many times. I work overnights on weekends and I have found that planning for snacks that I might crave helps keep me from eating too much of something I don't need. Just get back on track and it's just a bump in your rear view mirror. You can do it!

gardenerjoy: I'm glad you're feeling better and almost back to your normal self! And, I do the same thing with meal repetition...I eat the same things for breakfast and lunch pretty much every single day and then I will just rotate through the same selection of 5-6 different things for my dinners. Every once in awhile, I will try something new for dinner or have a night out with my husband, but I try to keep a fairly simple routine for the same reason. Plus, it's all really easy to keep track that way on MFP, because you can just copy over most of the items to the following day.
Joe: I make my tickers at LilySlim.com...I'm not sure at what point you can start editing a signature, since I think you have to post a certain amount of posts before that option is available, but you should be close if that is still a thing. Once you can, you can copy the BBCode of the ticker (it will give you the codes after you make one on any ticker site) and paste it into your signature under your profile options. And, intermittent fasting - at least with the 16/8 approach that I use - is just choosing an 8 hour window of time where you eat all of your calories for the day and you fast the other 16 hours to give your digestive system a break to do all of its work more efficiently and to help give it some rest. A good chunk of my 16 hours are while I am sleeping, so that helps. I usually eat between 1-9pm. I set it that late in the day, because we usually have pretty late schedules in the evening. But, you can find a window that works better for you. A lot of people do the 5/2 method, where they eat normally for 5 days of the week, and then - for 2 days - you "fast" by doing an extremely cut-back calorie count of 500 cals for those days. Some people also choose to fast completely and not eat at all on those days, but that is tricky territory. You can do some more research on it and look up the benefits of it all to see if it interests you!
momtopands: Thank you...same to you! You did great this week!
----------------------------------------------------
My body is still keeping up that pattern of bumping up right at the end of the week, lol. Weigh-in was 203.6 today, so at least it was a minimal gain. Just a simple fluctuation and likely a direct response to how sore I've been feeling since yesterday. I probably have some fluid retention in my muscles. And, it also means I'm still down 3.4 lbs for the week, which was exactly the same loss as Week One, so I'm beyond thrilled with that. Also, I hit my water goal yesterday of drinking two fills of my 2.2L bottle yesterday, which means I got in almost 150oz. (Over a gallon!) So, I'm happy about that, too.

Evening all! Did not post in the morning as usual because I had to be somewhere early and been out all day. Had another good weigh in this morning. Was really glad not to see it bump up since that was becoming an every other day trend. Might wake up in the 250's tomorrow
Ophelia & Joe ~ Love intermittent fasting! I'm not doing it yet because I want to be good and fat adapted first but I plan on starting it back up the beginning of February. I've done really well with it in the past.
Momtopands & Gail ~ Awesome weigh in today!
It's getting cold here too. I live in Florida so the 50's feels crazy cold the few days we go that low. The high on Thursday is supposed to 46! I'm probably going to have to actually turn on my heat!
