I am so pleased with my progress in June (wow, it's gone by fast!) that I'm really excited for July. My goal will be to get into the 180s, so 189.5 is my official goal.

so, i am new to this, how do i join this challenge and track it?

It looks like everyone is just posting what they are going to try and lose in July......if this is the case you can put me down for 10 lbs.

do i need to post weight or anything on certain days, im not sure how this works, but i love a challenge and would like to give it a shot

Hi there! I think I might be up for this!

I won't start crying if I won't reach it, but I will aim for 10 lbs. That would put me just under 70 kilos, which is my big big mini-goal!

Thank you EnglishMcTeach - Good luck to you too - I have lost weight on the gardenerjoy monthly thread in the past - the pressure of having to perform well for my co-challengers seems to make me put forth an additional effort. Constantly thinking: "I can't eat those potato chips because the friday weigh-in is right around the corner and I'm only half a pound lower than last friday and these chips will put 2 pounds of water on me overnight!" What an eternal struggle, but this forum really works.

YAY!!! Glad you joined! Typically people will post their weight every day. Not everyone does that, or likes to weigh-in every day, so you can pick your specific weigh-in day. Generally people who don't weigh-in every day will still check-in every day with how things are going in their journey to keep themselves accountable and make friends. You can have a look through the June challenge to get an idea for how it works.

I had said NO NO NO to weight loss challenges, but heck....I've been slacking lately and need a glamorous boost!

I'm starting a new job in August and also going to a friend's wedding the last weekend of July.

Most of us copy and paste our daily progress into a new post each day, so we can keep up with each other as we go, but some go back to their original post and just add to it, and then pop in every once in a while with a new post to let us know how they are doing since we are unlikely to go back to try to find their original post to keep up with their progress. NSF - Non-Scale FAILURE - well actually kind of a scale related failure:
Last november I was 120 kg and I could wear my nice black suit - which is very necessary here in Jpn because my father in law has 10 brothers and sisters between the ages of 70 and 90 and there is a funeral every 6 months. Well one of them is failing and I can no longer fit in my good black suit so I had to buy a bigger one last week - very upsetting to me; a lot of disappointment over regaining 17 kg over the past 6 months. Well that is the number 1 reason why I am here again this month so with all of your help I can lose 17 kg over the next 4 months, fit in my suits and a plane seat comfortably once more and go visit my hometown in america.

Darius, you've done it before and you can do it again! I'm sorry you had to buy a new suit but you'll be fitting back into the smaller one before you know it! We all have our ups and downs. I drifted away from here for a while and gained ALL my weight back and MORE. Unfortunately it happens. The important thing is you're back, you're determined, and you're going to do this! :cheer:

Hi everyone!

Last month I kind of fell of the face of the earth...between the MCATs and moving to my new summer job (live-in housekeeper) I have been very busy the last couple of weeks! My goal last month was to lose 5 pounds and I lost 4.6, but I'll think I'll reach for 6 lbs. this month. I'm very active at my job, as I'm standing and running around doing housework anywhere from 5-15 hours a day, and I've been more active on my days off as well since I'm no longer stuck inside studying....all that to say I think 6 lbs. will be hard, but possible. I won't be able to check in everyday as I sometimes work very early in the morning (and I like to weigh in 1st thing before I eat breakfast) so I'll just be checking in when I get the chance.
