Aw, thanks Magistra! :hug: As far as the family event, enjoy yourself! You know, life happens, and you have to live it, and sometimes that means enjoying yummy foods with family and friends! If you don't drop this week, you'll drop next week! It's not a race. And even though these monthly challenges are for fun and motivation, they're nothing written in stone, and are certainly not meant to stress us out. You'll get to where you want to be eventually, right?! Just continue to do your best! I think you're doing great! :yes:

I won't be doing personals since it's been so long since I checked in, but I have enjoyed reading all your posts and seeing how well everyone is doing! I haven't checked in for awhile, with being crazy at work for 14 hours a day, and then being sick in bed for a couple of days with some sort of virus thing. As much as being sick wasn't fun, it did give me a little whoosh! I have been drinking a lot of fluids and haven't felt like eating much, so I dropped a few pounds since my last weigh in. Obviously not a healthy way to lose, but I'll take the loss anyway :D I haven't been focusing very much on exercise, mostly diet. Once I feel better (I'm better but still a little under the weather) I am going to try and start running again...my running ticker hasn't seen much action lol. There are some really nice trails near me so I think I'll start heading over there and see how things go. I always hate jogging when I haven't in awhile, so hopefully I'll stick with it long enough this time to get to the point where it's actually enjoyable and not just horrible |

Hey chicks. How have you folks been? Well, I sure did miss you guys and the encouragement. Well vacation for us is now officially over. We are back to the grind, sort of. We had an amazing time and we were hurricane free this year, so that was a plus. My eating habits were surprisingly tame; however, there was daily ice cream trips. But I do not think the damage was as bad as I was expecting. I'm trying to get back in the saddle here at home. Unfortunately, when we returned, I had a layoff slip waiting for me in the mail. Goodtimes!!! Its not really a shock though, for the past month or so, work was really slow and I never did get a 40-hour work-week in. So, looking for work and reestablishing my exercise routine are what I am focusing on this week. Gardenerjoy, since I'm late to start goals for July, please pencil me in for 5 pounds if that is alright? Thank you. So, it looks like the vacation damage was 5 pounds, which is a set back, but better than I thought, so I am just going to put my running shoes on and get back to it. Are you feeling external pressure because others are weighing you and you feel like they may be judging you, or are you feeling internal pressure because you're worried you haven't done enough and you may be disappointed in yourself? If it's external pressure, just remember, Slimming World is a support group. They are there to help and support you. They aren't there to judge you. Everyone is in the same boat. If you weigh the same or more than last time, heck, your water weight could be fluctuating due to hormones, and they know that. It could happen to any of them! If it's internal pressure, well, you know how hard you've worked at your weight loss, no matter what the scale says. That number isn't going to change things. If you feel you need to do more and you can do more, then do it, no matter what the scale says. Otherwise, know you are doing your best and don't worry about that number! Just keep doing your best! Either way, it's not worth stressing yourself out. This is a journey and you'll get to where you're going! :yoga: EnolaAlone, yay on the big drop! You're doing great! :broc: Keli, woot woot! Thanks Jacqui D. Really appreciate your reply. I do suffer with anxiety and I think it's just built up over the last few days a bit, the comfort of a first 'woosh' of a weigh in is gone and week 2 is 'real. I am critical of myself often and know I have a long way to go which has scared me somewhat. I have dug deep today though - distracted myself well with my children and eaten really well (low syns) but not hungry still so I know I'm onplan and putting my faith in SW. The group as you say is a support group and I do feel it was welcoming and supportive - I also felt I needed that, so paid for a 6 week saver so I am committed for that long at least - Am aiming to pay a week then do another 6 week when I'm paid in August. :)
Will try and positive talk myself and if daily weighing is no good then limit myself to keep my anxiety down. :) Thanks again for your kind words. |

In my last post I said how I wanted to start jogging again, but that will be postponed a little bit...I can be a little awkward and clumsy and last night I sprained my ankle tripping down some steps :o It's not bad, just icing it and wearing an ace bandage, but I'll have to wait on the jogging for a couple of weeks. :sigh: |

Darius - no problem at all I'd have asked too if I hadn't known. :) Jacqui D - Thank you :) I am trying to stay positive and am making the right choices (like avoiding a chocolate biscuit with my girls in the park earlier.. hard as it was)! :) So I'm sure it'll move again when it's ready. I suffer from Bipolar so unfortunately anxiety comes hand in hand with it - it's partly what made me join slimming world for the support group aspect as was failing to lose anything on my own for 2 months of trying. Would lose 3lb and gain 2 back. lol So.. in this for the long haul, just have to get my head around it properly and deal with my mental health along the way. Hope you're all having a lovely Saturday. We went to see the life boat station with my girls and a vintage festival for a short while. I'm working tomorrow so making the most of the weekend. |

Sorry I haven't talked much lately. I'm switching jobs and it's been a good crazy change. Oh and my boyfriend and I might be going ring shopping after work today! Yay!! I'm really nervous, though, because I know what I want but I haven't seen it any of the stores. Also I really don't want a diamond, I want moissanite, but that's not too common and every sales person I've met so far has tried to talk me out of it because diamonds are better for their commission. Gemology and geology has been a hobby of mine since I was in junior high and I'm far more knowledgeable than they give me credit for.
