Mossy: when I gave Diet Coke I lost 5 pounds really fast. I suspect it was the sodium, though. I drink tea, now, which has some health benefits so I feel good about it. I never learned to drink coffee.
Thank you for your kind welcome! Hubby, who has sugar issues, says he read that diet soda can mess with sugar metabolism, so I'm guessing that it might derail weight loss, to some extent. Glad getting rid of it helped you!
So, it's been since June the last time I was here! Long story short...my mom passed away in May, lost my job AND moved in June...and didn't start a new job until September. Talk about depression! hgbvWas 175 last I checked in (June) and haven't been on a scale since. I know I've been blowing up like a balloon, and this group I think was the only thing keeping me on track. So tomorrow, I bite the bullet and get on the scale *heavy sigh*.
That is what's helping me most in my weight-loss journey. I can definitely live through hunger, especially if it's going to get me to where I want to be weight-wise. I also like the phrase "Hunger is fat leaving the body"!
Unless I am in a danger-zone BMI, which some doctors say is below 18.5, then intermittent hunger probably isn't going to harm anything. I've lost 28 pounds in the last year using IF (intermittent fasting), and that involves quite a bit of hunger. But I just ask myself, do I want to be hungry or weigh more than I'd like?
tinajayne72: Sorry for losing your mom -- that is such a tough time. And what a difficult time to have to make all those other transitions, too. Sounds like you've made it through and you're ready for some new beginnings now. Glad to have you back!
