I've repeatedly mentioned that I want to return to running. Why not now? Why not September? The time is now!
My September goal is to follow the first month of Hal Higdon's Couch to 5K program, repeating weeks as necessary.
Thanks gardernerjoy for kicking off our monthly exercise thread!

My September goal is:
- water aerobics for 1 hour, M-F (not on Monday 9/01) .....unless I have to work.
- I am VERY out of shape so I can't jog AT ALL without getting winded. I would like to start walking with short intervals of jogging thrown in. I think I would like to start with walking/jogging 30 minutes on T, Th, Sat.

I'm joining! I usually exercise on my stationary bike and do 20 km 6 to 7 days a week. I want to make sure i will exercise. Assuming i'll rest 4 days in September this leaves me with 520 km. Add August 31st and the final number is 540. I can't use any weight because i have a bad knee, so the bike is always set to 0 weight on a scale that goes from 0 to 10. 20 km a day is easy, all i want to make surd is that i'll actually do it 6 days a weeks.
Goal: 540 km on my stationary bike

With school starting and grad auditions this year my exercise is going to drop from my happy place to a little less than half of what I normally enjoy. So I'm going to have to make the hours I do get in count. Luckily I'm doing a weight training class at school twice a week and I'd really like to give running another shot since I won't be able to hike as much and for as long as I like to.
My goal for Sept. is 14 hours.

I'm going to have a strange month, so I'm going to track my goals a bit differently. I still want to make sure I exercise every day, but there isn't always going to be a "workout" time and place like I have usually. So, I'm going to count a day of exercise if I've walked 8000 steps (measured by my FitBit) and / or I stretched for 15 minutes. I think I'll aim for both on most days because that's going to help me feel my best.

Gardenerjoy, I'd like to join.
1) 800 minutes of exercise, including
2) 8 weight sessions (2 x a week)
IDK - Sept is a short & fast month!

Okay, once again reworking how I track my goals. I found myself doing a lot of exercise outside of the gym last month but wasn't tracking it, so I will include that this month. And I am going to focus on minutes rather than cardio vs. strength, because I'm not really focusing on either right now. So for now, I'm going to set my goal at...
600 minutes
