southernbelle, so much can account for a slight gain: water weight, sodium, TOM, ovulation (<----it affects me), not enough water, etc. Don't give up. The worst thing you could do now is throw in the towel. This isn't an easy journey and it's not always a fun process.

CW: 78.6 (+0.2) GW: 77 SouthernBell02: Don't give up! I've become convinced that persistence is the most important skill in losing weight. Three years from now, you won't even remember how frustrating these three weeks were. Oddly enough, the exercise may be the problem in the short run, but in the long run, the new muscles will be working even when you're not and will help the weight loss come more quickly in the months to come. |

15 Sept: 66.2 kgs again, still....
I know why this is happening... yes, as stated below, my leg muscles are building because I'm doing more with my running...but I've been eating junk. I don't know if it's my pre-TOM symptoms that are giving me the munchies at night, but I'm always feeling hungry a few hours after eating. This is normal for me when the timing is closer its starting. Oh well, I've been feeling discouraged and that I can't do anything. Yes, I've lost all this weight, but it's not lowering. I've been in the 66's for 2 months now :( I thought that running more and burning more calories would work at getting it down. I guess too much is going in... or maybe I'm not eating enough? Meh. There is more to it, but I just don't want to talk about it. I can't articulate it correctly in one-two sentences. ____ Quote:

Ladies, Thank you all so much for the encouragement. I WILL NOT GIVE UP!! I did really well today despite wanting to eat everything in sight. I know that last week I had a few cheat items but not enough for that gain, so it must be hormones or muscle or something very stubborn! I had my hubby measure me today despite the fact that its 2 days early. I needed the boost that I knew losing inches would give me. I lost 5.75 inches this month so that helped a lot. I also bought two knew "smaller" bras so that helped too but most of all you guys were the biggest boost. THANK YOU!!!!

Good morning, all. I hope you had a nice weekend. I had an end-of-summer ice cream cone from our favorite ice cream place yesterday and, you know what? It wasn't really that great. In fact, it kind of sucked. So, that was 300 calories that I didn't need, but I'm not beating myself up about it.
I'm going out to dinner with a friend tonight, so that will be more calories than I'm trying to stick with, but their menu is online and I'm going to choose something that is lower in calories. 1: DNW 2: DNW 3: 207.6 (1610 calories) 4: 206.6 (1730 calories) 5: 205.2 (1695 calories) 6: 204.4 (2019) 7: 204.0 (1956) 8: 203.8 (DNT) 9: 204.4 (1715) 10: 204.6 (1952) 11: 205.0 (1762) 12: 204.0 (1842) 13: 203.0 (1610) 14: 200.8 (1527) 15: 200.6 (2057) 16: 201.4 |
Hi all! Hopefully, this week will be less busy and less stressful than last week! I was stuck at 197 until last Thursday and then on Friday, I had a whoosh and was back down to 195, and on Saturday, that dropped to 194.5. Saturday, though, was my cheat day. Yesterday, I didn't weigh, but this morning I was at 196. At least it's not 197! :D
Pixikat, thanks! I do hope you feel better. That deep cough has been going around here as well. I hope you are over it very quickly! Rhiko, Pre-TOM cravings always hit me too. They are so hard to resist! Eat the minimum junk of what you have to in order to get through them, and then get right back to plan, and don't beat yourself up about it. You have to find a way that works best for you that you can keep up long-term and if eating a bit of junk because of pre-TOM keeps you going overall, make it a part of your plan and you won't fall off the big wagon. I do hope whatever else you are having to deal with right now works itself out. Cheeri, you go girl! You are killing it again this month! Woohoo! Leah, my fingers are crossed for you to enter the 140's by the 28th! :goodluck: Thanks Emme! Nice job planning for the dinner out by calling up the online menu! :cp: Joy, can ragweed season make you stall? I've never had allergies, but I've heard you can develop them as you age, and I've woken up with a scratchy throat and runny nose every morning for the last few days, but I don't have an all-out cold, so it makes me wonder. I do hope you feel better soon! Turtle, I know! I can only hope I am past the 197 now, although because I'm still so close to it, I won't be surprised if I hit it again! At least you have a chance at getting into the lower 160's. I don't think I have any chance at this point of making goal this month, but hey, let's both keep chugging away at it! SouthernBell, I'm proud of you for sticking to plan despite your frustration! Great job! Keep it up! Tereh, way to go! You are doing great! Looking good, BFR! Tavvy, I hope you had a good vacation, and I hope the scale brings great news on Sunday! |

But I think I do need to drink way more water also!! I hit my first mini goal of 233 and then over the weekend, something happened. I'll lose it soon! |
Grover sometime that happens, you're doing the right thing just stick with it

9/8/13 Starting weight: 154.4 9/15/13 Week 1: 148.4 (-6 lbs) I am sure this is mostly water weight, and the weight loss will slow, but it is nice to start and see some downward movement. I am now mentally prepared for the loss to stall, and then very, very slowly (like .25 lbs per week), continue. I almost don't want to say anything for fear of jinxing it. To everyone, thank you for the pleasure of participating in this challenge, we'll hang in there together! |

Grover, try not to stress about it too much. It could be anything. Stay focused...you'll be back down before you know it!
Well, I went out to eat last night and had a delicious 480 meal, but I split the appetizer with my friend and when I got home and looked at the calorie count, my portion was 505 calories!! Holy crap! Big fail on my end. Oh well. I'll know better next time. There's just something about being in a restaurant and being so hungry that you want to eat the appetizer b/c you need to eat NOW! Thanks Cheeri! Your words are very encouraging. Yes, the 190's are a big deal, even if I am growing weary of them. I have to not forget that. I do hope those 180's are calling my name though, lol! Then things haven't been going well at work. Business is slow and the owner decided to vent to me. That's the downside of being a good listener. People think they can just unload on you. My problem is that I don't know how to let their stress be just their stress and not absorb it. Today I'm hoping will be a quiet day but I have a class with a professor who is determined to get me to speak up in class and I absolutely refuse. I've been publicly shamed so many times by teachers in the past when I've spoken up that I'd rather not bother. And since he's a condescending jerk to everyone else who talks, there is no way I'm putting myself in that position. |
A sodium jump -- drinking lots of water today!

Yay! 193 today! Thanks Whoosh Fairy for the 2-lb drop! :dancer: I just realized I have less than 50 lbs to go now! Oh, if only my body were one of those types that could drop 10 lbs a month! But hey, I'll take whatever I can get! :D
MzShaunna, woohoo, great job! :cb: Yay, Turtle! Lower 160's, here you come! :carrot: SouthernBell, wow, fantastic! :broc: Cheeri, uh-oh, I hope you feel better soon. That sore throat seems to be going around. :getwell: J0ndysse, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! C'mon Onederland! :goodluck: Leah, oh my, I'm so sorry you had such a stressful week. And I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to speak up when that professor has been a jerk to everyone who has. Drink it up, Joy! (Water that is!) :coffee2: |
Hi ya'll. I think I had a visit from the whoosh fairy too because I was very happy when I got on the scale this morning. All of you are doing so awesome. Thanks for keeping me motivated :)

SouthernBell, look at you go! :carrot: Whooshes are great, but I wish the weight stall/gain prior to a whoosh wouldn't drive us batty! cheeriloos, I hope you feel better :( j0ndysse, you are so close to onederland! Keep on going! LovelyLeah, I hear you about being the one that people unload on. As if we don't already have enough going on in our lives, it always seems that people unload when we are already topped out with our own stuff. And that professor sounds like a complete a-hole. I can't stand people like that. gardnerjoy, ah, the lovely sodium jumps. It's cool when we know why our bodies are fluctuating, isn't it? Jacqui_D, woo hoo! :bravo: That's awesome! grover, YESSSSS!!!! :cp: So happy for you!! |

I think you are right that I just need to incorporate it into my diet plan. It was especially bad last night! I'd had dinner (meat and potatoes), a large dinner, and then a few hours later I was "starving" so I had cheese and crackers, and then half an hour later my stomach was "starving" again. it drives me nuts lol ___ Anyway, I'm still 66.2 kgs.............. WHY CAN'T I GET OUT OF THE 66s??? :( I hope that it's because my body is building muscle since I've increased my distance to 6kms. I've changed my diet this week to cut out all the extra bread and sweets I've been having. It's back to the basics for me. I'm going to be so disappointed if I've not lost 1kg once my TOM is done! |
